Where Are You From?

This is my group’s challenge for the week.
Our challenge this week is to make a card that represents the city, state or country where you live (or where you were born/raised).

Not having any stamps of planes and being no good at punch art, I had to pull out a retired stamp set.  The layout is not my idea, as I have cased it from Marelle Taylor.  I’ve changed the colours somewhat to try & represent the beautiful country we call “Australia”

I’ve used So Saffron to represent the sun, Marina Mist for the ocean and Certainly Celery the green land.  I hope I have captured the feeling and what I think are some of our colours.  I have 2 cards in each colour & know the exact person who will just love receiving these in the post.

Base Card – Whisper White Cardstock – Cut, score & fold
Layer 1 – So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist Cardstocks – 4″ x 3 1/8″ or 10cm x 8cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White Cardstock – 1 3/8″ x 1 3/8″

I typed my greeting using my pc & printed directly onto the Whisper White base card.  I then stamped the flower images onto Whisper White Cardstock, using Certainly Celery, Marina Mist & So Saffron Inks.  I punched thiese images using my 1 3/8″ Square Punch.  These were then adhered to the corresponding coloured cardstock, ie Certainly Celery onto Certainly Celery, So Saffron onto So Saffron and Marina Mist onto Marina Mist.  For the greeting “Best Wishes” I again printed directly onto Whisper White Cardstock & punched using the 1 3/8″ Square Punch.  This too was adhered to the card.

I then tore along the bottom of the coloured cardstock and attached the corresponding ribbon along the torn section – Marina Mist, Certainly Celery & Very Vannila and tied a knot.
