Gift Card Holder…

One of our cards we created in Crafty Creations a couple of weeks ago was a Christmas Card  Gift Holder.  I did find this on Google which led me back to Kay Kalthoff.  Those that know me I am not one to watch videos or follow instructions.  I sort of sit down & work things out for myself.  I did watch a bit of this video, but then went off on my own & ended up with this result!

Me being me, I did change it a little, including the papers & the design a little.  The class loved it!

Christmas Card # 2….

Today is the 2nd card one of the groups in my class of 20 a couple of weeks ago did.  You can view the first card one of the groups completed.  They were all very easy cards, but this time we concentrated on the Big Shot & learning out to emboss.  I especially love that I can use some of my favourite retire stamps & retired DSP.

I originally found this on Google sometime ago.  I did go searching for it to give credit but now I can’t find it.  Please let me know if you recognise it as I would love to give you credit.  Thank you so much for the inspiration!

I have since sold this card so today there is no tutorial.

Starting Out…

…as a gift card turning into a Christmas Card but with a small difference….

I had scraps of coloured cardstock sitting on my desk after completing a couple of other projects & instead of putting it all away, I thought I would attempt to make a small gift card.  Once I finished it & as I have to create a “Master Plan” for tomorrow’s class, I took it one step further & created a Christmas Card.

I used Retired DSP on this card, but it can be quickly turned into a completely different card using the DSP – Letters From Santa which is the current Xmas Paper or any DSP for that matter!

Base Card – Cherry Cobbler – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – DSP – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Cherry Cobler – 5″ x 3 5/8″ or 12.5cm x 9.5cm – Scored in half
Layer 3 – Old Olive – 4 7/8″ x 3 1/2″ or 12cm x 9cm
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 4 3/4″ x 3 3/8″ or 11.5cm x 8.5cm

Using my SU Marker – Chocolate Chip, I drew squiggley lines around the edge of the Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I stamped my 2 images using Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive Inks direct onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I drew 2 lines from the images to the border around the card using my SU Markers – Chocolate Chip
This piece was adhered to Olid Olive Cardstock & then to the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.  Using 2-Way Glue, I randomly applied this to the stamped images & applied Dazzling Diamonds – cannot be seen very well in the photo.  This was my original gift card.
I adhered a piece of Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon to the lower half of the DSP, tied a knot & then adhered to the Base Card – Cherry Cobbler.  The Gift Card was then adhered to the LHS of the Base Card – as per photo.
I stamped the sentiment using Chocolate Chip Ink onto Very Vanilla, punched using my Oval Punch & adhered to a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock which had been punched using the Scallop Oval Punch.  I adhered this to the Base Card.

SC 002/11…

Thought I would attempt another sample for the challenge going on over at Sunny Challenges & Creations  There is still time to play before it closes.
For my 2nd attempt, I’ve made it into a Christmas Card – getting that much closer every day.  You can see the original post & measurements Here
I also attached a ribbon & punched a greeting!  For the bird’s eye, I used a Basic Rhinestone & coloured it using a black permanent marker!  Works wonders!

DSP – Jolly Holiday

Joy at christmas…

It’s Sketch Frenzy Friday again!
The card created especially for this challenge is very easy using the DSP from SU® –  Jolly Holliday.  The colours in this paper are so stunning, not your normal bright greens & reds.
To create my card, I layered DSP onto Old Olive Cardstock.  I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock & using my Scallop Edge Punch, punched along one side.  Cutting a piece of DSP, I adhered to the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.  This piece was then adhered across the middle of the card.
Using Joy at Christmas image from Perfect Punches, I stamped it in Old Olive & punched out using the Scallop Circle.  I adhered this over the top of the DSP placed in the middle.
I finished off with Jewles – Basic Pearls.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Perfect Punches
Ink – Old Olive
Cardstock – Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP – Jolly Holiday
Punches – Scallop Circle, Scallop Edge
Accessories – Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Jewels – Basic Pearls
Tip – Did you know Perfect Punches Stamp Set fits Scallop Circle, Wide Oval, Scallop Oval, Modern Label, Round Tab and Curly Label Punches?
Until next time, Enjoy!
