We had a Technique Class today. Fun Fun Fun!  We all had a great time, especially me!

We did a couple of techniques, including Water Colour using Pencils & Aqua Painter.

 Well I have managed to return to post the card I finished to match the box posted earlier.

 This time I tempeted a “Hinged Card“.  I have never made one of these.  Seen heaps of them, so took it on board & did my version of it.  I do know there are instructions out there in Blog Land, but I wanted to show the edge around the top, so put my head down & went in blind.

I’ve just realised that the lid in the close up of the box is not sitting straight, so please excuse that!
I’ve used the little cupcake from Short & Sweet & stamped along all sides of the box.

I’m Back…

Well, I am back & hopefully to post more frequently than I have been.  Once out of the routine, it takes a bit to get back again.
I’ve used a set from the current SU mini-catalogue & believe me, this stamp set has heaps of potential.  Check the mini at the right hand side to place an order!  Since seeing this set, I have had an image in my mind of doing this project, just required the occasion!
I am in the middle of making a matching card but wanted to post the box first.  I have made this for a birthday and want to fill the box with lots of goodies, ie lollies.  What kid doesn’t like lollies?

I’ve coloured the image using SU Watercolour Pencils & Aqua Painter
I applied 2-Way Glue & sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds onto the top of the cupcake, which immediately bought the image to life

I’ve had notebooks sitting in my box of “stuff” for quiet sometime, just waiting patiently to be decorated or something…. to them.  Well today was the day!
With the rose, I have stamped it 3 times onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Using the Aqua Painter, I then picked up bits of colour from Ruby Red and painted the rose.  I then cut 2 of the stamped images where I thought would best suit the flower.  I used dimensionals to create the layers.  I may even add a little Dazzling Diamonds for a bit more of a lift!
On the inside, I’ve covered the top of the notebook with cardstock & DSP.  I’ve randomly stamped 3 images on the pages, using the different flowers & the colours from the front.  I decided not to add any flower on the left side, but instead added a small pocket – Blue Check – which you are able to include your receipts etc.  In the next couple of days, I will do a Tutorial for the cover & instructions relating to the technique I’ve used.
I am going to have to return this set to Jenny this week or she will be thinking she didn’t purchase this set.

Buttons, Buttons & more Buttons…

As previously mentioned, I had a run of making make cards & thought I would continue while the ideas were popping into my head.  I couldn’t get my hands to work fast enough to keep up with the ideas….
I’ve used 3 different size circle punches on this card – purposely to keep your eye away from the squares.  I carried it through to the greeting, but using the oval punches.

DSP – Sweet Slumber Speciality
Ink – Basic Grey
Punches – 1 3/8″ Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle, 1″ Circle, Scallop Oval, Oval
