By the Seashore

It seems like forever since my last post, but I have been busy creating, just not having the time to post!

It is the wedding season at the moment in Oz, so I have been rather swamped with invitations & receptions, but today thought while my printer is busy printing, I would post a card we created last week in Crafty Creations.

We have been doing a lot of fun easy techniques in this class of late & the ladies seem to be really enjoying their card 003blogmaking.  Most of them have been coming for about 4 years now & thought it would be fun to start & head it in a slightly different direction & see how we go.

Last Friday we played with “Gesso” & created a fun beach side themed card with the Stamp Set – By the Seashore.  We had lots of Gesso everywhere including ink.  Everyone had a different effect for their ocean – wild & stormy, dark & cloudy, flat & calm & then a couple had lots of waves.  Lots of fun & play!

For my card, I randomly applied Gesso to a piece of Whisper White Card ensuring that I left heaps of space for colour to be added.  I wanted different layers of Gesso so that it would look like the waves in the ocean.  I sponged Marina Mist around the card followed by Night of Navy to bring in some darker colour.  I finished it off wiping gently with a tissue.  Since the photo has been taken, I 002abloghave touched some of the sections with Dazzling Diamonds to represent the wash of the water.

Another piece of Whisper White Card was scored every 1/4″ – can’t really see it in the photo – prior to adhering the Gesso piece to the bottom part of the scored card.  I then tied a piece of ribbon across the join & adhere to the Base Card – Night of Navy.

I stamped 3 shells onto scrap Whisper White2 x Marina Mist & 1 x Night of Navy, cut them out & adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

“Brother” was created using MDS & printed onto Whisper White Card.  I cut a “V” into each end & adhered to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Vicky
