Happy 18th

About 2 weeks ago I was asked to create a couple of 18th Birthday Cards for a few people.  Funny how they all came at once.

Today is the one I posted to the lovely Karen.  It was a special card for one of her models who loves everything girly.  So I set about trying to think of something a little different & trying not to use Pinks.

I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Card into the shape of a bag & set about decorating it.  A piece of Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon (retired) was adhered to the front to look like a handle.  Parisian Breeze DSP (retired) was cut into the same shape as the “Bag” & adhered to the Chocolate Chip Card.  I cut another of the same DSP into the shape of the “Flap” & layered it over the top.

The “18” was cut a number of times from scrap Whisper White Card using the “Little Numbers” Framelits (retired) & layered together.  I then cut another set of “18” from Marina Mist Card & layered on top.  A piece of scrap Whisper White was cut from the Layered Circles Framelits & adhered to a scallop circle of Chocolate Chip, “Flap” with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a small bow from the same Ribbon & adhered it to one side of the “Ribbon Handle” with a Mini Glue Dot.  I repeated the same for the “E” using the “Little Letters” Framelits, except this time I adhered it to a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine before tying around the Ribbon.

To add a bit of bling, I decided to adhered small Rhinestones to the top of the “18” as well as the “E“.  The bag instantly come “alive”!

The “Happy Birthday” from “Crazy about You” Stamp Set was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White Card in Chocolate Chip Ink, adhered to a piece of Chocolate Chip Card, cut into a Banner Shape one end & adhered to the Card Front.

Don’t forget, you could create the same card using current supplies.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
