Jar of Flowers

I actually decided to have a play this week & the challenge over at Freshly fms267Made Sketches popped up.   As it’s been a little while since I’ve done one  with them I thought it the perfect opportunity to do so.  I actually had “Falling Flowers” sitting on my desk left over from another project.

Getting out of my comfort zone, I  decided to go “Bright” which are not my “go to colours” or “first cab off the rank” but hey it’s a good thing to try new colours.  I also fliped the sketch on its side to challenge myself a little more.

I stamped the middle jar from “Jar of Love” Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White Card in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink before repeating it onto a scrap of paper & then fussy cutting for my mask.  The mask was then temp adhered to the stamped jar before stamping a jar either side.  This creates the effect of the middle jar being in front of the other 2.  “Thanks” was stamped inside the jar with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

The lids were stamped direct onto scrap Whisper White Card in Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise & Daffodil Delight Inks before being die cut with the corresponding “Everyday Jars” Framelits by running through the Big Shot & adhering to the tops – Melon Mambo & Tempting Turquoise with Multipurpose Adhesive Glue while Stampin’ Dimensionals were used on the Daffodil Delight Lid.

The Leaves were stamped direct onto 2 of the jars in Old Olive Ink.  The Flowers were stamped direct onto more scrap Whisper White Card 20161219_132907_resizedblog(love it when I get to use some of my scraps) in Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight & Melon Mambo Inks before die cutting with the coordinating Framelits.  I then decided to stamp & die cut another small leaf  only because I had made a slight smudge – don’t you love it when you can cover it & no-one will ever know.  As the Flowers are 2-Step Stamping, I stamped off once prior to stamping the 1st image.  The stamped Whisper White Card was then layered onto a piece of Basic Black Card leaving a small edges showing around 3 sides & a larger one on the LHS.

As I thought the card looked a little bare, I then decided to add a few flowers down the side so I stamped a couple of leaf images direct onto a piece of Whisper White Card & then layered the Jar piece over the top allowing the leafs to overlap a little prior to layering onto a piece of Basic Black Card & then to the Base Card – Whisper White.

To finish the card, the Flowers were randomly adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals before Rhinestone Basic Jewels were adhered to the centres.

I’m loving the bright colours of the card especially teamed up with Basic Black.

Why not head over to Freshly Made Sketches & play along.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

  1. I love it, especially love the way you turned the sketch to create your beautiful focal piece. Very, very pretty.
