January Class | Fun Fold Card #1 | Mintay Papers | Academina Collection

G’Day Crafty Friends,

We kicked off the new year with such a fun and creative January class!

There’s nothing better than starting the year with fresh paper, pretty supplies and time spent crafting together.

This month we created a fun fold card featuring the gorgeous Mintay Papers – Academina Collection.  I just love the vintage, scholarly feel of these papers — all the books, ledgers and soft, classic colours make this collection so unique and perfect for layering.

Everyone had a great time learning the folds, building the layers and adding those special little details that make each card one-of-a-kind.  Fun fold cards always look impressive but are so much easier than they seem… which makes them extra satisfying to create!

Thank you to everyone who joined me — crafting with friends is truly the best part.  I can’t wait to share what we’re making next month!

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

Sweet Piglet | Simple Layers with a Handmade Touch

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I have another Kat Scrappiness project to share with you today, created with the fun Hundred Acre Quokka Stamp Set, Pattern Papers & Craft Dies

This card is all about soft colour, texture and charm.  Adorable Piglet takes centre stage, coloured with alcohol markers for smooth blends and gentle shading that really brings the character to life.  Keeping the colouring fairly simple lets the image shine without overpowering the design.

I paired Piglet with the matching patterned paper to add interest and a bit of playful contrast. Mixing patterns is a great way to add depth while still keeping the card flat and easy to post. The matching sentiment stamp finishes the card perfectly, tying the whole design together with a clean and polished look.

To add dimension without bulk, I die cut the bees from the matching Hundred Acre Bee Hive background Craft Die.  This gives more lift to the panel and sentiment.  Die-cut shapes instantly elevate a card and make even a simple layout feel more finished and professional.

This is a lovely design for everyday cardmaking – quick to assemble, easy to personalise and perfect for using up favourite papers.

Supply List

A very cute piglet, soft colouring and a few simple layers – sometimes that’s all you need to create a card that feels truly special.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

The Paper Funday Challenge | February | Pastel Colours

G’Day Friends,

Once again it’s time for our challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenges where this month our sponsors are Pretty Pink Posh & Lawn Fawn.  I’ve gone with the Twist – Pastel Colours to create a sweet & simple birthday card that’s all about texture, softness & a little fun.

I started with an embossing folder to create a subtle background full of beautiful raised detail.  To keep everything cohesive, I paired it with patterned paper featuring small dots & plaid which echoes the texture of the embossing without overwhelming the design.  This small detail really helps tie the whole card together.

For the focal point, I used die cut balloons with both cardstock & pattern paper, layering them slightly for dimension. Balloons are such a classic birthday element and they work perfectly here to keep the card light and celebratory.

The colour palette stays firmly in the realm of soft pastels — gentle pinks, purples and soft neutral colours — giving the card a calm, cheerful feel that works for any age.  Foam Tape adds subtle height and finishes everything off with a simple sentiment so the textures and colours can really shine.

Supply List

  • Birthday Wishes Bundle – Gina K Designs
  • Basic White Smooth Cardstock – Paper Rose Studio
  • Bubble Gum Cardstock – Stampin’ Up!
  • Hello Lady 6 x 6 Papers – Paper by the Sea
  • Simple Dots 3D Embossing Folder – Paper Rose Studio
  • Up, Up & Away Cutting Plate – Taylored Expressions

This is a great design if you enjoy letting your tools do the work – embossing folders for interest, patterned paper for coordination and die cuts for instant impact.  Perfect for quick makes or batch card-making sessions!

Birthday Quokka Card | Fun, Cute, Colourful & Easy to Create

G’Day Friends,

Today I’m sharing a sweet birthday quokka card created as part of my Kat Scrappiness Creative Affiliate Team project.  It’s perfect when you want something cute, quick and a little bit special.   The star of the show is this happy little quokka, coloured with alcohol markers for smooth blends and soft shading.

The smiling quokka steals the show, paired with a little present to set the birthday scene and a bright mix of patterned paper for extra fun & tones the colouring down a little.

To keep things playful, I paired the image with patterned paper and an easy fun fold.   This fold adds interest without being complicated – great for using up paper scraps and perfect for beginner or time-crunched crafters.  A small present on the side along with the birthday sentiment finishes the card and really sells the birthday vibe.

This is one of those projects that is perfect for batch cardmaking.

Supply List

Simple, cheerful and guaranteed to make someone smile—because honestly, everything is better with a quokka.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!
