Paper Bliss – 5-Step Cards with Vicky – Simple, Stunning, Handmade Bliss!

G’Day Friends,

Are you looking for ways to use your Pattern Paper or easy card making ideas?  Me too!  Well, I am happy to say that each fortnight I will be sharing a go-to-5-step formula for making elegant handmade cards that look store-bought but feel deeply personal.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned crafter, I’m sure this process will help you create beautiful cards in just a few simple steps.

My 5 Steps to Cardmaking Magic

1. Choose Your Focal Point
Start with one standout element.  It could be a stamped image, a die-cut or even a hand-painted design.  Everyone loves florals or whimsical critters – anything that sets the tone of your card, so why not start there.

2. Pick a Background Technique
Create texture or colour with a simple background.  Ink blending, stenciling or patterned paper – I like to keep it subtle to let the focal point shine.  I LOVE Pattern Paper!

3. Add Layers
Use foam tape, cardstock mats, or layering dies to add dimension.  My tip – a little layering goes a long way to make your card pop!  I LOVE layers!

4. Sentiment Placement
Stamp or emboss your message – thank you, happy birthday, congratulations – and place it where it balances the design.  I LOVE Sentiment Sheets to speed things up!

5. Embellish with Intention
Finish with tiny touches – sequins, enamel dots or a splash of shimmer.  This step pulls it all together.  “Less is more – but sparkle is always welcome.”

Pro Tip –

Keep a mini “card kit” with pre-cut elements, stamped images or die-cut images and sentiment strips.  When inspiration strikes, you’re already halfway there!

Your Turn!

Fun with Stencils – Paper Funday Challenge

G’Day Friends,

Once again we have another challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  This month’s sponsors are Lawn Fawn & Newton’s Nook.  I went with the Twist – Fun with Stencils!

Whether you’re into clean geometric shapes or whimsical hand-cut designs, stencils are a fantastic way to add personality and precision to your paper projects.

For my take on the challenge, I grabbed some Basic White Cardstock, a fun brand new Stencil, Ink Pad & Blending Brush.  Once my stencilling was all done, I grabbed a Die that I think worked perfectly with the stencil, cut 2 different sizes in 2 colours & layered them over the top, trimming off any excess overlapping the sides.

The card was finished off by randomly adding splatters with a Black Posca Pen, layered onto Charcoal Black Cardstock & then to a Basic White Smooth Base Card.

Stencils are a low-pressure, high-reward way to experiment – perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike.  So dig out those stencils, get messy, and show us what you create!

Supplies –

  • Stacked Sentiments #1 – Paper Rose Studio
