Painted Harvest Suite

Painted-Harvesta---Close-Up

I am sharing with you today one of the cards we will be creating in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class.  We would love for you to come along & create with us.

I saw this fold over on Pinterest a little while ago but now of course I am unable to find the link, but I managed to do one better & actually found the blog.  Thank you so much Jeanie for your inspiration even though it was one created in error, I loved that it was so different!

I’ve used the lovely Painted Harvest Suite to create our card.  The Suite includes the Painted Harvest Stamp Set, Leaf Punch which can be purchased as a Bundle & the Painted Autumn DSP.  It took me a little time to actually purchase this set, but I must tell you, it is so much fun playing with it.  I especially love the fact that it gives you a gorgeous watercolur look to all your creations.

Tips to help you with the 2-Step Stampin’ set –Painted-Harvesta---Fancy-Fo

  1. Stamp the centre first.  This helps to centre your flower
  2. Stamp the larger flower next but in a lighter contrasting ink.  This flower will look like it may be missing part of the stamp, but this is ok
  3. Stamp the smaller flower 2nd & in a darker contrasting ink.  You will be amazed at how the flower will come together
  4. For more definition, stamp the larger flower once again in the same colour ink as the first time.  Your flower will just about pop off your Card

I do hope the ladies are going to love creating this card.

By clicking on on the link below, you will be able to download a tutorial to create your own card.

SeptemberIf you pop back in a few days time, I will also share with you another one I created using the same fold.

Don’t forget when shopping in my Online Shop to use September’s Host Code to receive a gift from me.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Bundle of Love

I received a brand nephew just before Christmas so today’s card is the one I created for him.  It is not the traditional soft blue as I’ve gone for a bright look.  I didn’t mean to but I seem to be on a “Brights mission” of late.  Have you noticed that with my cards?

I saw this card on Pinterest, so took my inspiration from there.  Thank you so much.

For something a little extra special, I decided to create a Z Fold Card.  The Base is Night of Navy.  I then embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Happy Heart EF & adhered it to the left hand side.

I then stamped the “wash splat” image from the “Sunshine Sayings” Stamp Set direct onto a piece of Whisper White in Daffodil Delight Ink.  I cut a heart from Night of Navy using the Heart from the coordinating “Sunshine Wishes” Framelits which was adhered over the top of the stamped Daffodil Delight.

I die cut a Baby T from Whisper White using the “Baby’s First” Framelits, stamped the little tie from the coordinating “Something for Baby” Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White, die cut with using the little bow Framelit & adhered it to the Baby T.  This was adhered over the Night of Navy Heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Bundle of” from “Sunshine Sayings” Stamp Set was stamped direct onto the stamped card in Night of Navy Ink.

“Love” from the coordinating “Sunshine Wishes” Framelits was die cut in Whisper White, Daffodil Delight & Night of Navy.  I adhered the Night of Navy to the Whisper White & then the Daffodil Delight was adhered to the top but allowing a little bit of the Night of Navy showing to the sides.  It was then adhered to the top of the Baby T. I did the Whisper White so that it would pop a little more.

To complete my card, I randomly scattered Metallic Sequin Assortments around the card before layering onto a piece of Night of Navy & then to the Card Front.

For my inside, I embossed a small piece of Whisper White with the Happy Heart EF, added a small edge of Daffodil Delight down 1 side & layered onto a piece of Whisper White before adhering inside.

From all accounts, the mum loved the card & it has now gone into Leo’s Baby Album.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

What is it?

G’day Stampers,

A little something different today.  I am sharing with you a card I did a few months ago which has been sitting on my desk waiting patiently to be posted.  I’ve kept it blank for the moment & will stamp a greeting on the front once the occasion happens.

This is my version of a “Magic Card” or is it a “Sliding Card“?  It could be a “Magic Sliding Card“.  I’m not too sure but will let you decide for yourself.

I layed a piece of DSP over a piece of Whisper White Card,  cut a circle in the centre of both pieces using the Layered Circle Framelits.  I cut a frame using the same Framelit & a size larger from Bermuda Bay Card & set it aside.  Also set aside the piece that you cut from the centre.  This is your front DSP.

So that the DSP Images would match, I then placed the piece with the Circle cut from the middle, matched the images & drew a circle onto the 2nd piece of DSP with a Pencil.  Once I002-2blog had done that, I then very carefully cut the DSP down to the size I wanted still ensuring that the images matched, side to side & top & bottom..

I randomly stamped the birds across both pieces of DSP in Early Espresso Ink not too worried if they matched or not.  I randomly stamped the Reeds along the bottom of the front DSP in Crumb Cake Ink before layering onto a piece of Whisper White Card & layering the Frame around the cut out circle.

For the Base Card, I cut & scored a piece of Bermuda Bay to the size I wanted, cut a circle in the front with the same circle Framelit as the DSP, adhered the extra piece of DSP from the front ensuring the DSP Images matched in & adhered the card together before layering the Front DSP to the top ensuring it all matched.

For the Inside, I  created a little tab from scrap Whisper White Card, punched a small hole with the 1/16″ Handheld Punch, threaded through Linen Thread & adhered the tab to the top of a piece of Whisper White Card before layering 1 piece of the DSP over the Whisper White ensuring the bottom of the tab could not be seen.

I sure hope this is not too confusing as it has been a long time since creating it.  I think I will have to create another just to refresh my memory.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday Gail

My card today is one that has been getting around the Internet of late, well not my card but others like it.  It was created for a birthday last month.

I cut a piece of Playful Palette DSP to size & decided where I wanted the fold to be.  Once I had decided on the fold, I cut in about 2″ & simply folded & scored the DSP from the middle of the cut to each corner, ensuring that the fold was nice & sharp.

The DSP was the layered onto a piece of Card (which I didn’t realise at the time is a piece of my wedding card stock, thinking it was Cucumber Crush Card) & then onto the Base Card – Basic Black.

I stamped the large butterfly from Watercolor Wings onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla Card in Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum & Memento Tuxedo Back Inks before cutting out with the matching Bold Butterfly Framelits & adhering to the centre fold of the Card Front with a Mini Glue Dot.

The greeting is from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set & was stamped onto a piece of scrap Very Vanilla Card in Cucumber Crush Ink, the frame in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, punched with the matching Duet Banner Punch before popping onto the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love this DSP but was finding it hard to use.  Now that I’ve cut into it, I seem to heading for this Stack all the time.

Don’t forget, this is a great way to use up some of that DSP sitting on your shelves in the cupboard.  Why not head over to our Pretty Pattern Papers Page to see more ways of using DSP.  The Tutorials are also a great source for SU! Demonstrators who hold Classes, Workshops or Demonstrations.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Look Who’s Turning….

…40!  Happy 40th Birthday Trish.

My cousin turned the big 40 a couple of weeks ago, so I thought it the perfect time to try & attempt to create a “Twist & Pop” Card for her.  I took my inspiration from a card I found on Pinterest but found a Tutorial to create the card.  Unfortunately, I am unable to find the post, but thank you so20160915_134615_resizedfb much for your tutorial.

I used the lovely “Blooms & Bliss” DSP, “Number of Years”, “Thoughtful Banners ” & the “Watercolour Wings” Stamp Sets.   Along with the Stamp Sets, I used the Layered Oval Framelits & the Large Numbers Framelits (which go with the Number of Years Stamp Set).

Stampin’ Up! make it so easy for you when using DSP as they list the matching Colours.  I used Sahara Sand, Island Indigo & Whisper White Card, along with Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, Island Indigo & Mint Macaron Inks.

Tips –

  • Ensure your score lines are burnished really well with a Bone Folder so that they are easy to fold
  • You may need to help your fold a little the first time you close your card

If you haven’t created one of these cards, be sure you do as they are very easy & lots of fun.  I don’t think this will be the last one I create.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

You are Remarkable

G’day Stampers,

I am sharing a card we will be creating in our Technique Class this Sunday.

We created a “Pop Out Swing Card” using the gorgeous “Remarkable You” Stamp Set.  We also played with Aqua Painters by doing a little bit of Water Colouring & Sponging.

026wma-blogIf you haven’t created one of these cards, be sure to do so as they are very easy & so much fun to do.

I’ve had this stamp set for some time & finally managed to create what I wanted with it.  From the first I laid eyes on the set, I immediately thought of a water lily.  Funny how our minds work!

The Whisper White on the front of the card has been embossed with the Fluttering EF which I think fits perfectly with the set.  There is always butterflies & dragonflies around water lilies.

We completed the card by randomly scattering Rhinestones around it.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Vicky

Screen Card

Today’s card is one we did in our Technique Class early last month.048a

Not only did we create this fold, but we got to play with the fantastic Blendabilities.  If you haven’t purchased these fantastic new pens, then do yourself a favour & do so!  They are so user friendly, lots of possibilities & may be used on so much stuff.  I love them!

For our Screen Card, I have seen heaps of them around on the internet, so I sat myself down & created one to the Oz side length which also means it is a little wider than the US size.  The ladies were so happy with their cards & of course even though we all start out with the same kit, we all end up with our cards looking a little different especially when we all used different colour Blendabilities.

For our card we used the Hostess Set – Bloom with Hope.  This is fantastic for colouring especially with the Blendabilities.

These cards are such fun to create & so easy to do!

Until next time, Happy Stampin!

Card # 2

Today’s card is our 2nd card we created in our “Rock n’ Roll” Technique last Sunday. I will admit this is not my original idea – I found this gorgeous card on Pinterest & decided to put my own spin on it including a Fancy Fold.  Thank you for your inspiration.  031a

With the Fancy Fold spin, I saw this card & sat & worked it out.  I have actually created it to fit our standard envelopes in Oz.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
