Scrapbooking….

Today’s post is from my Scrapbook Classes last month.

I have lots of photos from when I worked in Dilli, Timor Leste a couple of years ago.  Not only did I love my work, but I met some great people – local, defence, federal police, non-profit organisations & ex-pats, have a lot of great memories – funny & serious, saw many things – some I want to remember, while others I don’t!!!!

The people in Timor Leste are wonderful, very happy & very laid back – my kinda lifestyle, which is probably why I fitted in so well.  It may also have had something to do with the fact that at the beginning I was one of very few ex-pat females in the country, blonde hair & freckles, so everyone got to know me.

As soon as I saw the DSP from the Seasonal Catalogue, I knew immediately that the papers would suit Timor.  It also has the colours of our uniform.

I actually changed my ribbon since the photo was taken. “Circle Circus” stamp set goes great with this paper.  The journaling was created in MDS (My Digital Studio), with Chocolate Chip & Cherry Cobbler Inks & printed onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Circle Circus…..

…. meets Triple Time Stamping!

I created this card for the challenge on Stampin’ Fun & Friends, but was too late to enter it, so thought I would still share.  The challenge was to use Red, Green & Silver, but as I said, I was too late, so I left the Silver & added Chocolate Chip instead.

Measurements –
Base Card – Chocolate Chip – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Whisper White – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Chocolate Chip – 4 5/8″ x 2 7/8″ or 12cm x 7.5cm
Layer 3 – Whisper White – 4 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ or 11.5cm x 7cm
Layer 4 – Chocolate Chip – 3 5/8″ x 2 1/8″ or 9cm x 9.5cm
Layer 5 – Whisper White – 3 1/2″ x 2″ or 8.5cm x 9cm

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Circle Circus, Petite Pairs
Ink – Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeade
Cardstock – Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Accessories – Snail Adhesive
.
To create your card, adhere the 3 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock  on top of each other using a  little bit of Temp Glue or Temp Snail Adhesive to the back.  I tend to use Snail Ahesive & then rub some of it off.

Firstly, I stamped my sentiment on the top layer with Chocolate Chip Ink.  I then proceeded to stamp random images & colour of Lucky Limeade & Riding Hood Inks around the 3 layers.

Once my stamping was complete, I carefully separatley the 3 layers & mounted them onto the corresponding Chocolate Chip pieces of Cardstock with Snail Adhesive.  I then carefully adhered them on top of each other ensuring that I had all my images matched as close as I could.

I decided not to add any embellishment to the card as I didn’t want to take away from the sentiment.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been given to us by Gwen.  What a great challenge this week – the possibilities are endless.  We have to use Circles on our project this week.  Why not pop over & check out what Kris & Gwen have created & then join us.  We would really love for you to link your project with Mr Linky!

Measurements –
Base Card – Concord Crush – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – Scored in middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Whisper White – 5 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ or 14cm x 9 1/2″

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Baroque Motifs, Circle Circus, Short & Sweet
Ink – Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Concord Crush
Cardstock – Whisper White, Concord Crush
Punches – Itty Bitty Shapes, 3/4″ Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle
Accessories – Rhinestones, Stampin’ Up! Markers – Tangerine Tango, Concord Crush, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I stamped the large image from Barquoe Motifs in Pear Pizzazz straight onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock.

3 images from Circles Circus were stamped direct onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock – 2 with Tangerine Tango & 1 in Concord Crush.  3 of the larger image was also stamped onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock – 2 in Concord Crush & the other in Tangerine Tango.

I punched one of the stamped Concord Crush images using the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, while the 2nd image was punched with the small Circle Punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes set.  The Tangerine Tango image was punched using the 3/4″ Circle Punch.

The punched images were then adhered to the main image on the card & built using Stamping’ Dimensionals

The lines were drawn with a Ruler & Stampin’ Up! Markers – Tangerine Tango & Concord Crush.

Prior to stamping the smallest image from the Circle Circus Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight ink, I stamped the sentiment in Concord Crush straight onto the Whisper White Card.

I had all intensions of just adding the Rhinestone to the middle of one of the images, but to add more depth to the card, I scattered the Rhinestones around the card.  I think it adds a little bit of a sparkle & finishes it off a little.

As always, this isn’t how I pictured my card to be, but I am quiet happy with the final result. What do you think?

Until next time, Have a great day!

Xmas Scrapbook Page…

I wasn’t going to scrap the photos I took on Christmas Day this year, but looking at them, I suddenly realised I had a photo of 4 generations……  It doesn’t happen very often, although Jill has 6 great grand kids……  the oldest being 16! She is often babysitting 3 of them, 2 of whom are twins, so they keep her on her toes.

Mind you, she will not & has never given up her social life to babysit.  She has always said to her grandkids, she would only look after them if she has nothing on.  Well, in Jill’s social calendar that is not very often.  I can’t wait to retire!!!!!!!!!!!

The photo was layered onto a piece of Riding Hood Cardstock, leaving 1/8″ border prior to adhering to the Whisper White Textured Cardstock.  For some reason I always like to use Textured Cardstock as my main page .

I incorporated the flower that I wore in my hair on Christmas Day – made from a couple of flowers I had lying around, added Rhinestones to the middle & bamo, you have an ornament for your hair!  I then hot-glued a clip on the back.  The clip was removed as I adhered a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.  I also sponged a bit of Riding Hood Red Ink to the flower to make it pop a little.
I stamped the tree with Garden Green Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock before adhering to a layer of Basic Black Cardstock & then to the page.
For the Scallop Circles, I used one of the images from Circle Circus – have been wanting to use this set for something Christmas for so long – with Garden Green Ink, while the wording is in Tempting Turquoise Ink….  They were both punched using the Scallop Circle Punch.
The journalling was typed & printed onto Whisper White Cardstock, before laying onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock & then to the page.

I used a couple of pieces of  Basic Black Ribbon to look like the journalling & embellishments were hanging from the top.

I basically wanted to keep the page simple & clean – my style of scrapbooking, while just picking up the suttle colours in the photo – Riding Hood Red, Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green, Black & White.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Circle Circus, Perfect Punches, Lovely as a Tree
Ink – Tempting Turquoise, Riding Hood Red, Garden Green
Cardstock – Whisper White Textured, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red
Ribbon – 3/8″ Taffeta – Basic Black
Punches – Scallop Circle
Accesories – Rhinestones, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Sponge
Until next time, when I will show you the 2nd page!

Ol’ Favourite…

I was so happy to see that “Circle Circus” didn’t retire when the new Catalogue came out!  It is such a wonderful stamp set which can be used for any occasion – male or female.  This time I have choosen to showcase it for a male & to use it for the current challenge over at Sunny Challenges  There is still time to play along.
Base Card – Marina Mist – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm – once scored & folded in half
Layer 1 – Crumb Cake – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Cajun Craze -1″ x 4″ or 2.5cm x 10cm
Layer 3 – Very Vanilla – 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 2cm x 9.5cm

Using Cajun Craze & Marina Mist Inks, I randomly stamped different images onto Crumb Cake Cardstock & adhered to the Base Card – Marina Mist.

I again stamped random images onto the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Cajun Craze & Marina Mist Inks & adhered to the piece of Cajun Craze.  This was then adhered to the Base Card.

Inking my image with Cajun Craze, I stamped the image direct onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock, punched it out using the Scallop Circle Punch & adhered using SU Dimensionals to a piece of Marina Mist Cardstock which had been punched using the Large Scallop Circle Punch.  I again stamped a piece of scrap Very Vanilla Cardstock with a smaller image using Marina Mist Ink & punched using the 3/4″ Circle Punch.  I adhered this to the centre of the Cajun Craze circle using SU Dimensionals.

To finish the card off, I applied white dots to the piece of Marina Mist using my White Gel Pen & adhered the whole piece to the centre of the card, overlapping the strip across the card.
