The Scrap Room | Design Team | Daisy Daze Paper Collection

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Today I’m sharing a birthday card I created using the beautiful Daisy Daze Paper Collection Pack for The Scrap Room Design Team.

The Daisy Daze collection by Bee Arty exclusively designed by Amy Evans, is a beautiful coordinated scrapbooking and mixed media range inspired by vintage botanicals, wildflower meadows and honeycomb textures.

To give the papers a soft vintage feel, the edges of the paper were distress before lightly sponging them with Forest Moss Distress Ink & a Sponge Dauber.

The sweet daisy image was fussy cut from the pack prior to being coloured with Copics, adding plenty of depth and vibrant colour to the focal point.

Supplies – The Scrap Room

Copics –

  • Stem/Leaves – YG91, YG93
  • Petals – E31, E33
  • Centres – Y35, Y38

To finish the card, I added a few pearls for a touch of elegance and wrapped some twine around the design for extra texture and a rustic feel.

I love how the distressed edges, papers, soft florals and simple embellishments come together to create a cheerful birthday card.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

Digi Choosday | Polkadoodles Crafts | Bright Father’s Day Card

G’Day Crafty Friends,

It’s Digi Choosday time!

Today I’m sharing a bright and happy Father’s Day card featuring a fun digital image, cheerful pattern paper & copic colouring with a little ink blending too.

For this card, I started by printing my digital image onto Express-It Cardstock and colouring everything with Copics.  I kept the colours fresh and vibrant to create a playful Father’s Day design.

One of my favourite parts of this project was blending the background with ink.  I used soft copic blending techniques to create the grassy ground and drew birds in the sky with a Fine Black Liner.  The gentle transitions between colours help the scene feel light, sunny and full of happiness.

To add extra interest & to tone it down a little, I randomly chopped the paper into 4 pieces – you know me – prior to adhering it onto a layered of White Cardstock.  When chopping your paper, if it has a pattern, don’t forget to keep it in order when cutting.  The pattern of the paper and the bright colours gives the card a fun and energetic feel while still keeping the design balanced.

I finished the card with a sentiment digi that ties the whole project together perfectly.  A bold sentiment always adds the perfect finishing touch to a handmade card!

Polkadoodles Crafts | Digi Choosday | Pretty in Pink

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Once again, it’s time for Digi Choosday!  Be sure to click on the link to see what everyone has created.  This is gonna be a fun one!

There’s something so elegant about stepping away from traditional square cards and creating a design with softer, more delicate lines. For this birthday card, I chose an oval-shaped design to give it a unique and feminine feel, perfect for celebrating a special occasion.

The base of the card was created using nesting oval dies, then layered with a gorgeous pink striped patterned paper for a sweet and timeless look. The soft stripes add just the right amount of detail without overpowering the design, making the perfect backdrop for the image.

I coloured the image with Copic markers, blending warm pinks and soft florals to coordinate with the lovely soft pink paper.  Copics always bring images to life with their smooth shading and vibrant colour combinations and they worked perfectly for this soft, romantic palette.  I will say that I am a little out of practice with colouring, but “practice, practice, practice makes perfect!”

A few sparkling embellishments and a sentiment finished the card beautifully, making it suitable not only for birthdays but for many special occasions as well.  I love how the oval shape gives the project such an elegant look while still feeling playful and pretty.

Pooh Bear | Hundred Acre Collection | Kat Scrappiness

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I’m back today with another Kat Scrappiness Creative Affiliate project and this one might be extra special because it features the sweetest little Pooh Bear.  I mean… who doesn’t love that honey-loving cutie?

I wanted this card to feel warm, soft and cozy — like a big hug in paper form — so I mixed a little colouring, pattern papers and lots of die-cut shapes to bring it all together.

Colouring the Image

I started by colouring Pooh with my alcohol markers.  These are my favourite for smooth blends and soft shading.

I kept the colours classic:

  • golden yellows for his fur
  • that signature red shirt
  • soft shadows to add depth and dimension

Supplies – Kat Scrappiness

Finishing Touches

Once everything was layered up, this card just felt so cheerful and nostalgic.  Pattern paper + colouring + dies is truly one of my favourite combos — and Pooh just makes everything extra sweet.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope this project inspires you to pull out your markers and play with your paper stash.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

The Paper Funday January Challenge | Sketch Layout

G’Day Friends,

Welcome to 2026 & to our very first the Paper Funday Challenges of the year.  Our sponsors this month are Taylored Expressions and Sweet November Stamps.

As usual we always have a twist for all our challenges & this month is a sketch layout.  Oh, I love my sketches.  I’ve created a clean and simple card keeping the design minimal and calming, letting the seashell images and soft colouring take centre stage.

Clean & Simple Design

For this card, I focused on lots of white space and a straightforward layout.  A single focal panel sits on the card base, keeping the overall design uncluttered and easy on the eyes.  Clean & simple cards are some of my favourites because they highlight the details without feeling busy.

Seashell Focal Cluster

The seashells are the star of the card.  I coloured them with alcohol markers in soft neutrals, adding gentle shading for dimension.  Keeping the colouring light helps maintain the clean & simple style while still adding depth and dimension to the images.  A loose cluster of shells overlaps the focal panel, creating movement and visual interest.  A small sentiment banner off-centre finishes the design.

Supply List

  • Seashells Stamp Set & Dies – Pretty Pink Posh
  • Basic White Smooth Cardstock – Paper Rose Studio
  • Lemon Lolly cardstock – Stampin’ Up!
  • Copic Markers
  • Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Embellishment
  • Stitched Shapes Dies – Stampin’ Up!

Finishing Touches

To finish the card, I added a small sentiment that complements the simple design without overpowering it.  Three small white embellishment have been added to the circle so as not to overtake the shells & colouring.

Final Thoughts

This project was a great reminder that combining a sketch layout, simple colouring and  embossing can result in a timeless design.  Seashells add a peaceful, elegant touch that feels right year-round.

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I hope this inspires you to pull out your markers and embossing folders and give this sketch a try!
