SC 044/12…

Crikey, I can’t believe that we are 6 of the big 50!!!!  How time flies when you’re having fun.

Our challenge this week is brought to us by Kris & all it involves is a “Fancy Fold“.

If you google “Fancy Fold“, a whole heap of different instructions & Tutorials will pop up.  The hardest part of this challenge is to decide on what type of “Fancy Fold” you will do.

I decided to try my hand at the “Free Standing Pop-Up Card”.  This type of card has been around for quiet some time, but will admit it is the first time I have attempted it.  I was really surprised at how easy it is to put together.

To do all my score lines, I used the new & fantastic Stampin’ Up! “Simply Scoring Tool

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Cottage Garden
?

Back of Card…

Ink – Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi
Cardstock – Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ribbon – 5/8″ Organza – Whisper White
Punches – Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
Accessories – Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive, Pearls, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Craft Knife, 2-Way Glue, Simply Scoring Tool

Prior to scoring the long piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I randomly stamped my images using inks of Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi & Daffodil Delight.

For the part that pops up, I stamped 2 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock with Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi & Daffodil Inks.  One piece is for the front which you see when it pops up, while the other piece is for the back to wirte my message.

Front of card…

The flowers for the front were stamped onto scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Melon Mambo Ink, cut out & addplied to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I applied a Pearl in the middle of each flower with 2-Way Glue.

I punched 2 strips of Daffodil Delight Cardstock using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.  I have had this punch for sometime, but never used it.  I think I will be using it heaps more now, as it is such a beautiful punch.  When adhering these strips to the Whisper White Cardstock, I ensured that the punched pieces were on opposite sides.  Both pieces were then adhered to a piece of Wild Wasabi Cardstock with Snail Adhesive.

To complete the card, I wrapped a piece of Organza Ribbon around the body & tied bow just off centre.

Need more inspiration?  Pop on over to check out what Gwen, Kris & Leonie have created for their Fancy Folds.

This card is also for my group’s challenge, where we had have to use the colours of Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo & Wild Wasabi.  We could create a card, scrapbook page, project or any other item as long as we used the above colours.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Gift Set…

Today, I’ve done something a little different.  I saw this on Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie – http://www.frenchiestamps.com/2010/10/frenchies-freaky-friday-and-cute-6×6.html & had to have a go.  It is not often that I will sit & watch videos or read tutorials or instructions, but I must say, I enjoyed it!  So clear & easy!
I changed mine to hold gift cards.  I made 2 each of the cards shown below to go into it!
