Digi Choosday | Polkadoodles Crafts | Christmas Card

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Once again, it’s Digi Choosday time!

Our theme this week is “Get Organised for Christmas”!  To me, that means creating Christmas cards but it could be anything that you may do to get ready for Christmas!

I’ve created a cute little Christmas card with the cute Reindeer Dress Up Bella Christmas Bear Digital Stamp.

Bella has been coloured with Copic markers, using soft blending to add depth and warmth to her adorable blue reindeer suit.  I paired the image with the Theo Penguin Paper Bundle 3 to create a design that lets Bella remain the star of the card.  Isn’t she just the cutest in her little blue suit?

For the background, I used gentle ink blending to create a soft winter sky before adding tiny stars with a White Posca Pen.  Those little white dots add just the right amount of sparkle and help bring the scene to life.

Bella is all dressed up and patiently waiting for Santa to arrive.  She’s even remembered to have a carrot ready for Rudolph after his long journey on Christmas Eve!  It’s such a fun scene that captures the excitement and anticipation of Christmas night.

Page 1 | Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony | The Scrap Room

G’day Crafty Friends,

Today I’m sharing Page 1 of my 6 x 8 scrapbook album, created with the beautiful Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony 6 x 8 Paper Pad, paired with the coordinating 12 x 12 Vintage Basics Kit.

I love how easily these collections work together.  I love creating 6 x 8 pages & albums & are  perfect for building the foundation of a smaller-format scrapbook page, while the 12 x 12 Vintage Basics Kit gives me plenty of extra elements, patterns and layers to bring the page to life.

For this first page, I started by selecting one of the patterned papers from the 6 x 8 pad as my base.  I then added layers from the Vintage Basics Kit, creating a little bit of texture and dimension without making the page feel too busy.

The Timeless Harmony Chipboard Pieces were perfect for adding those finishing touches.  I love using chipboard on scrapbook pages because it instantly adds dimension and helps certain elements stand out.

I also tucked in a few pieces from the Journal Bits & Pieces pack.  These little pieces are so versatile and are a great way to add extra detail, journaling space and those lovely vintage touches that make a page feel finished.

For this first page, I wanted to keep the design layered, vintage and slightly eclectic, while still allowing the gorgeous papers to remain the star of the page.  Mixing the different sizes and textures gives the layout plenty of interest and makes the smaller 6 x 8 format really fun to work with.

I’m really happy with how Page 1 came together and I can’t wait to continue building the rest of the album using this gorgeous collection.

The Paper Funday Challenge | Fun Fold

G’Day Friends,

It’s time for another Paper Funday Challenge and this month we’re adding a little something extra to the twist in the way of a fun/fancy fold!  The challenge is sponsored by Altenew & Whimsy Stamps.

For my project, I reached for the gorgeous Daisy Art Junk Journal by Stamperia and had so much fun turning it into a fun fold.  I love how a fancy fold can take a simple card or paper project and make it feel that little bit more special — there’s always an element of surprise when you open it!

The daisy-themed papers were perfect for this project, with their pretty florals and cheerful colours bringing the whole design to life.  I added coordinating die cuts and embellishments to complement the papers while letting those beautiful daisies remain the star of the show.

Sticks & Bones | Dinosaur 2 | Digi Choosday | Polkadoodles Crafts

G’Day Friends,

I’m happy to say it’s time for Digi Choosday over on the Polkadoodles blog.  Don’t forget to head on over to see all the lovely inspiration.

Our theme this week was to use Acetate or Vellum on our projects.  I was a little torn with this as I didn’t know which to go with.  So, I put both names in a hat & drew out the name lol.  Soloution solved!  BUT, then the real dilemma on what to do & how to use Acetate!

Today’s project is a cheerful birthday card featuring the adorable Sticks & Bones – Dinosaur 2 Digital Stamp!  Bright colours, along with the playful Sticks & Bones – Testured Dinosaur Papers 2 came together to create a card with plenty of personaliy that’s sure to bring a smile to any dinosaur lover.

To add something a little different, I created a tent fold card with the acetate as part of the fold.  The acetate highlights the paper used on the card giving the card an interactive element, making it extra special when the recipient opens it.

A simple birthday greeting from the Zodiac Collection – Birthday Sentiments & Greetings Digital Stamps and a few coordinating embellishments finish the design without taking away from the fun dinosaur theme.  The result is a bright, happy card that’s perfect for celebrating birthdays of all ages.
