Christmas Wishes 2…

My card today is the 2nd card we created in our Technique Class in September, using the same gorgeous “Ornamental Pine013blogStamp Set.

To create our card we stamped the “Hardwood” Stamp direct onto Pool Party Cardstock with Pool Party Ink, cut out the square using the Square Collections Framelits.  For the inside, we stamped the Branch image with Soft Suede Ink, Heat Embossed 2 x Pie Cones with VersaMark,Soft Suede Ink & Clear Embossing Powder, cut them out & adhered to branch top, 1 with Snail Adhesive & the 2nd with Stampin’ Dimensional.  To finish it off, we tied a small piece of Old Olive Twine into a bow & adhered with Glue Dot.

Embossing Folders

029 (2)Today’s card is another we did in our Technique Class – Embossing Folders.  There are so many ways of using your EF instead of just running it through the Big Shot.  In our class we create 2 cards as well as a sample to take home for your Technique Books.

Next time you dig out your Folders to use on a card, look at it & try & use it a different way.  It will open up a whole new world for you & you will look at your Folders in a different light.

Our Stamp Set was Polka-Dot & Pieces.  Once which I think I purchased in error & had never used, but I love it.  So many possibilities!

In our card today we didn’t actually run our Folder through the Big Shot, instead we sponged different colours inks around the flat side of the folder, sprayed a little water & then pressed it flat onto our card.  Perfect for a background!  The fun part about this was that everyone had a different background, even though we used the same technique!  When I demonstrated the technique, I even got a different background to the one in today’s card.

EFIn fact, I didn’t even do this Technique on Watercolour Paper, it was done on our ordinary Whisper White CS.  I wanted to see how different it would be to use the Whisper White CS & what result I would get.  I must say I am happy with it!

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

I found a lovely little card on Pinterest with the colours of Pistachio Pudding & Smokey Slate. I have spent a 20140715_143507acouple of hours trying to find it but do apologise for not being able to give you credit. I have put my own spin on it & well, looking at the card now, it doesn’t resemble the one I took my inspiration from.  Strange how that can happen hey.

I love this stamp set & am so very glad it didn’t retire. I ended up posting this to a good friend of mine the other day who is having a bit of a hard time. I just thought it would be very different to flowers, etc.  I only hope she likes it!

20140715_143545aIt would make for a very good male card too by just changing out the colours.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the images direct onto a piece of Very Vanilla CS using Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding & Smokey Slate Inks, prior to attaching with Multipurpose Glue.

By clicking on the link below, you are able to download & print your copy of the Tutorial.
