SC012/11…

This card has been created for the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations  It is not too late to link your creation.  You have until Saturday arvo, so why not have some fun & have a go!  You could be our “Ray of Sunshine”

For the inspiration of this card, I actually saw a dress in a shop window yesterday using these colours.  Amazing where your inspiration comes from.

The measurements for my card will make it easier for you.  Along with the sketch, don’t forget to use flowers on your card.

Base Card – Crumb Cake – 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – score @ 4 1/8″ or 10.47cm & fold in half
Layer 1 – Cherry Cobbler – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Very Vanilla – 5 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 14xm x 10.5cm
Layer 3 – Crumb Cake – 4″ x 1 1/4″ or 10cm x 3cm
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 4″ x 1 1/4″ or 10cm x 3cm

I stamped my background mage onto Very Vanilla using Crumb Cake Ink – I didn’t stamp off.  I stamped over the stop with another image using Cherry Cobbler Ink.

I cut this stamped piece at 1″ & 1 1/4″ which gave me 2 x 1″ pieces & 1 x 1 1/4″.  I adhered these pieces onto the piece of Cherry Cobbler & then to the Base Card – Crumb Cake, ensuring the larger piece went into the middle & smaller pieces either side.

With my Eyelet Border Punch, I punched the longer side of the piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, stamped my sentiment with Cherry Cobbler Ink onto Very Vanilla piece & run it through the Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots.

Using a sponge, Cherry Cobbler Ink & a piece of White Taffeta Ribbon, I sponged the ribbon until it was the colour I wanted, let dry, adhered to the Embossed Very Vanilla Cardstock, tucked ends under, adhered to the punched piece of Crumb Cake & finally to the Base Card.

I punched 3 flowers with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Set, adhered them to the Very Vanilla Embossed Cardstock & adhered a Basic Pearl on each.

Lastly, I adhered butterflies to the top of the card after they had been cut from the Bigshot & Embosslit Die.  I applied Basic Pearls to the butterflies & to the flowers.

SC 001/11…

I thought I would do another card for our current sketch & stamp set.  It is not too late to create a card from the sketch using “Inspired by Nature” Stamp Set.  Check out the details – http://www.sunnychallenges.blogspot.com/
For my card, I thought I would use some of the outgoing DSP, emboss a little here & there, put it altogether & that would be it.  Yes, I used the DSP, but after putting it together, looked at it & found out I totally forgot to do the embossing.  Oh well, all the embossing stuff will have to wait another day.
I cut a piece of DSP, adhered to Very Vanilla Cardstock & adhered to the base card – Riding Hood Red.  I stamped the image directly onto DSP using Basic Black Ink, adhered to Riding Hood Red & then to base card.
For my butterflies, I used the Bigshot & Embosslits Die – Beautiful Wings, along with DSP & Riding Hood Red.  The butterflies were adhered randomly over the card with Basic Pearls adhered down the middle of them.
Again, a very easy card, although I can’t help think it would have been much better if I had not forgotten to Heat Embossed.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Inspired by Nature
Ink – Basic Black
Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Embosslit Dies – Beautiful Wings
DSP – Love Letter
Accessories – Snail Glue, Basic Pearls, Bigshot
Why not head across to the challenge site & take a look at the lovely creations.  There is still time to submit your creation
Until next time, Enjoy!

CS34352… Flowers & Butterflies…

Lately it seems so long between my posts, but this time I have had a valid reason.  I’ve just finished creating & assembling invitations for a lovely couple who lost everything in the recent Brisbane floods – you can read more http://www.sunshineinvitations.blogspot.com/ or http://www.dreamweddingrescue.com.au/  – yep, nothing to do with stamping, but that is my excuse & I am sticking to it!  PS  Photos of the invitations won’t be posted until next Tuesday when I know their guests have received their invitations, as I don’t want to spoil the surprise.

Now on with stampin!

I decided to do a card from the sketch over at Creative Sketches I think I am cutting it a little fine, but hey I really had to think about this.  I knew what paper I wanted to use & that a male’s card would hopefully be the end result, but try as I might, it turned into a female’s card right before my eyes.

Base Card – Baja Breeze – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Soft Suede – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 5 5/8″ x 2 1/4″ or 14cm x 5.5cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 5 5/8″ x 1 1/2″ or 14cm x 4cm
I adhered the 2 pieces of DSP to the Soft Suede Cardstock.  I coloured my ribbon using Baja Breeze Ink & adhered across the join prior to adhering to the Base Card – Baja Breeze.  I then punched 2 squares from Soft Suede using my 1 1/4″ Square Punch.  I repeated the same using Very Vanilla Cardstock
With the 2 pieces of Vanilla Vanilla Cardstock, I put these through the Bigshot & the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.  I must admit, I have had this folder for some time, but has never been out of its folder!  Things will change now!  I attached these squares to the Soft Suede ones, as per the sketch & adhered to the card.
Using my Bigshot, the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies  & Baja Breeze Cardstock, I cut the butterflies out & adhered to the squares.  I then applied Rhinestones to the centre.  For my flowers, I inked the blue using Baja Breeze Ink & SU Sponge.  I layered all 3 together & adhered to the card.  I applied another Rhinestone to the middle of the flower.
I then stamped the sentiment directly onto DSP using Basic Gray Ink.  This was punched using the Large Oval Punch & another from the Scallop Oval Punch but with Baja Breese Cardstock.  I adhered both together & then to the card.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Afterthoughts
Ink – Baja Breeze, Basic Gray
Cardstock – Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
DSP – Elegant Soiree
Ribbon – 38″ Taffeta Ribbon – Whisper White
Punches – 1 1/4″ Square, Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Embossing Folders – Elegant Lines
Embosslits Dies – Beautiful Wings
Accessories – Multipurpose Glue, SU Sponges, Rhinestones
Until next time, Enjoy!

Box of Notes…

With what started out something compeletely different, I am quite happy with the end result.  Although these little boxes have been around for quiet sometime, I wanted to try something or add something to it.  It gives the box a completely different look, yet still being useful to store your notes for messages.  Actually, now that I have seen the box in a new light, there are tons of ideas going around in my head.

Now that I think of it, the Box of Notes may also qualify for Latenight Stampers Weekly Challenge # 123, which is Making the Grade – showing your appreciation to those teachers who have made a difference in your child’s life, or your own life for that matter.  This is able to be in the form of a card, gift, treat, etc

Stamp Set – Punch Bunch
Ink – Nil
Cardstock – Concord Crush, Whisper White, Blushing Bride
DSP – Lap of Luxury
Embosslits Dies – Beautiful Wings

Do you think mine fits the challenge?
Until next time, Enjoy!

Thank You…

What started out with different size punches in my hand has turned into a Thank You Card for the lady who did the Puppy School which my new addition – 4 legged type – attended.  Belle began Puppy Scool wanting to be “Boss Lady”, but was soon put in her place by another little “Boss Lady”  This is her card from Belle.
Base Card – Early Expresso – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm – Score & Fold in half
Layer 1 – Blushing Bride – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm
I punched different size circles using my punches & Early Expresso Cardstock & Blushing Bride Cardstock & randomly adhered the circles to Whisper White Cardstock.  I run the Whisper White through the Bigshot using an Embossing Folder.
This piece was adhered to Blushing Bride before being attached to the Base Card – Early Expresso.  I stamped “Thank You” onto a piece of Whisper White, punched out & inked the edges in Early Expresso Ink &adhered to the card.
I run 2 pieces of Blushing Bride Cardstock through the Bigshot using Embosslit Dies.  The Butterflies were then attached to the top of the card, including over the edge of the sentiment.  I added Basic Rhinstones to the middle of the Butterflies.
All in all, a very simple little card but I am quite taken with the end result!

Stamp Set – Short & Sweet

FTL 136…

Today’s card is for the challenge over at Clean & Simple Stamping  On seeing this sketch, “DSP – Sweet & Sour Speciality” jumped into my hands.

Base Card – Rose Red – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10cm – Fold & Score
Layer 1 – Very Vanilla – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 9.5cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 3″ x 3 7/8″ or 7.5cm x 9cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 1 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ or 7.5cm x 9cm

I adhered my 2 pieces of DSP onto Very Vanilla Cardstock & adhered this to the Rose Red Base Card

For my ribbon, I decided to use a piece of DSP, but fold it for a little bit of a different look.  I cut a strip of DSP & scored along the piece.  I then proceeded to fold the DSP so that the folds would run down the card similiar to a ladder.  I adhered this to the card.
After cutting Very Vanilla Cardstock with my Bigshot & Sizzlit Dies, I sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie Ink & a Dauber.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Ink.  I cut my butterfly with the Bigshot & Embosslit Dies & sponged using my Dauber & Pumpkin Pie.  I adhered this to the sentiment & using SU Dimensionals, adhered it to the card.  I adhered Basic Pearls to the middle of the Butterfly.

All in all a great sketch!

Just for You…

I hope you are enjoying looking at the cards I have been creating for these challenges as I’ve enjoyed making them.
Today’s card is for yet another Challenge – this time over at http://www.mojomonday.blogspot.com/  Looks pretty involved, but….
For my card, I used the gorgeous DSP Elegant Soiree.  Sometimes I don’t want to touch it as it is so lovely, then other times, I just want to create.
Using my Corner Punch, I rounded the opposite corners of the DSP & adhered onto my card base, Baja Breeze.  I repeated the process for the smaller piece of DSP & adhered onto Basic Grey Cardstock.  This I adhered to the card base.  I then cut a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock, cut a “V” & adhered over the top.
I cut another piece of DSP & adhered to Basic Grey again.  I adhered this to the base card.  Cutting a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock & a smaller piece of Very Vanilla, I rounded the edges of both piece of cardstock, & adhered the Very Vanilla to the Soft Suede.
Inking my image in Soft Suede, I stamped it onto the Very Vanilla.  I again inked my greeting in Soft Suede & stamped in the middle of the frame & adhered this to the Card.
With my Bigshot, Embosslit Die – Beautiful Wings & DSP, I cut the butterflies & adhered randomly to the card with the larger butterfly to the LHS, as per the sketch.  I wanted to keep the butterflies the Vanilla colour.  To highlight the butterflies, I applied Basic Jewels & also used them for my “o’s” in the words “for you”.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Just Believe
Ink – Soft Suede
Cardstock – Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey
DSP – Elegant Soiree
Embosslet Dies – Beautiful Wings
Punches – Corner
Accessories – Mutlipurpose Liquid Glue, Jewels, Bigshot
Until next time, Enjoy!

Thanks…

I opened my email this morning & received a very lovely surprise!  Over on Stamping 411, my card ended up being one of the Operators Picks. You can view it Here
As usual they have another great sketch, so why not have a go yourself, it is so much fun!  Without further ado, here is my card for the new challenge.
Close-Up –
For today’s card, I used my dauber and Baja Blue ink.  I daubed the ink directly onto Very Vanilla cardstock, then loading my image with Versamark, I stamped over the sponging.  I then applied white embossing powder over the image, and heated with my heat tool.  I used a tissue to wipe over the image.
As I am loving the effect the Shimmer Paint is giving to my cards, I poured 2-3 drops into a small spray bottle & filled with water.  I then lightly sprayed over the image – you can just make the shimmer out!
Using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and Baja Breeze, I cut the butterflies out with the Bigshot.  I very lightly sprayed the butterflies with the Shimmer Mist prior to adhering to the card.
With a scrap piece of Soft Suede cardstock and the Thanks Embosslit Die, I again used the Bigspot.  I then cut around the die, sprayed with Shimmer Paint & applied directly to the card.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Just Believe
Ink – Baja Breeze, Versamark
Cardstock – Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
DSP – Elegant Soiree
Embosslite Dies – Thanks, Beautiful Wings
Accessories – Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Taffeta Ribbon – Very Vanilla, Shimmer Paint, Heat Tool, Bigshot, Embossing Buddy, Embossing Powder – White

Until next time, Enjoy!
