SC 002/11…

Thought I would attempt another sample for the challenge going on over at Sunny Challenges & Creations  There is still time to play before it closes.
For my 2nd attempt, I’ve made it into a Christmas Card – getting that much closer every day.  You can see the original post & measurements Here
I also attached a ribbon & punched a greeting!  For the bird’s eye, I used a Basic Rhinestone & coloured it using a black permanent marker!  Works wonders!

SC 002/11..

The new week begins with a new sketch & stamp set.  This week it has been set by Kris and me being me, just about left it to the last moment, but after putting my thinking cap on, I come up with the following creation.  Doing these challenges is helping me to think outside the square so to speak & also to use colours hat I would not normally use, let alone together.  For more information & to link up with Mr Linky, head over to http://www.sunnychallenges.blogspot.com/
For my card, I stamped an image direct onto Sahara Sand using Blushing Bride Ink.  I cut a piece of Bravo Burgandy & mounted a smaller piece of DSP over the top.  I cut another piece in Blushing Bride, stamped an image onto it using Sahara Stone Ink, run it through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Square Lattice & adhered to card.  I then adhered the DSP piece over the top, as per the sketch.
I cut 2 ovals using my Bigshop & the Ovals Die, the bigger one in Bravo Burgandy, while the smaller piece is Sahara Sand.  I stamped the same image onto the Sahara Sand piece using Blushing Bride Ink & then the bird image over the top with Bravo Burgandy Ink.
I again stamped the bird image onto a scrap piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock, cut it out & mounted over the top of the first image using SU Dimensionals.
For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock, stamped an image using Blushing Bride Ink & then stamped the bird image over the top with Bravo Burgandy Ink.

Christmas Pressies…

I’ve been asked to make 12 Post-It Notes for small Christmas Gifts.  I wanted to keep them simple & not have too much on the front.  With being in your bag all the time, they tend to get knocked around a lot, so keeping them simple suited the purpose.
I’ve kept with the basic Post-It Notes Holder, as I don’t think you can beat a classic.  It is so easy to make.
Cut a piece of cardstock 6 3/4″ x 3 1/4″
Score at 3 1/2″ & 4″
Embellish as desire

In this case, I printed all the names on the pc.
How easy is that?

Here for You…

Today’s card is for a Sketch Challenge from Clean and Simple Stamping  Now with this sketch, I did think a little about it, while at the same time wanting to use the DSP – Sweet & Sour Speciality from SU®.  If you haven’t used this paper, you should, as it is so lovely to work with, not to mention the gloss on one side.
After wiping Shimmer Paint onto my Very Vanilla Cardstock with a plastic bag & allowing to dry, I punched a 1 1/4″ circle & lightly adhered to the cardstock.  I then proceeded to sponge/daub Pumpkin Pie Pastel over the top.  Once satisfied with the chalk, I wiped my Embossing Buddy over the top, stamped my image with Versamark & Basic Black and stamped directly over the sponged area. I then heat set it using my Heat Tool.
Using Shimmer Paint gives the background a very rich look, don’t you think?
As you can see, I have really gone against the grain & used Basic Black Cardstock with the DSP.  I think it gives it a really striking finish.  Not only that, I love Blacks & Oranges together, much like Pinks & Blacks.

For You from Me..

Wonders will never cease!  I’ve managed to complete yet another challenge.  This time it is over at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ – great sketch!
I am not sure if you have noticed, but the last lot of cards I’ve made, have all been colours I don’t usually work with, but this time I have really done it!
My Card –
Not only did I use my SU® Pastels around the edges of the stamped flower image, I’ve also used them around the edges of the greeting.  I think it gives it a softer look & finish!  What do you think?
