Card #4 | Ultraviolet Delight Collection

Before we get into today’s project, I thought I would let you know that I now have a separate page for all my free card & project tutorials.  It is a work in progress so please bear with me.  You can find the ones already uploaded HERE.

Once again I have another project to share with you created with the lovely & bright Ultraviolet Delight Collection by Uniquely Creative.

With its rich purples, dreamy gradients and coordinated ephemera, this collection makes it incredibly easy to create stunning cards in minutes.

Tips for Success

  • Stick to a colour story – The collection is already coordinated, so pick 2–3 dominant tones per card.
  • Use Foam Tape – Adding dimension between layers instantly elevates your design.
  • Don’t overthink placement – A slightly imperfect cluster often looks more natural and artistic.
  • Batch your cards – Cut multiple backgrounds and panels at once to speed up your workflow.
  • Scored lines – add a couple of scored lines top & bottom of the pattern paper panel.  This adds more interest to your card

Final Thoughts

There’s something quietly powerful about sending someone a handmade card.  And when that card is filled with soft textures, delicate embossed flowers and thoughtful folds, it becomes more than paper – it becomes a keepsake.

Today’s inspiration is a fun fold card created with the lovely Words of Wisdom Collection by Paper Rose Studio, designed to surprise and delight from the very first touch.

Mother’s Day Card | Soft Pastel Colours

G’Day Crafty Friends,

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought I would share a couple of cards I’ve created over the next couple of weeks.

There’s something quietly powerful about a card that speaks simplicity — where black and white set the stage and gentle pastel tones whisper the rest.  This Mother’s Day, I wanted to create something that reflects just that – strength, softness and the beauty found in thoughtful details.

The foundation of the card begins with a crisp white embossed base layered against a layer of black.  This contrast creates a timeless elegance.

To soften the monochrome palette, a soft & delicate banner was added down the left side.  This piece was actually a scrap from the pack of pattern paper & set the tone for the card.

Hand-punched daisies in white are simple & timeless!  Who else loves daisies?

The white embossed punched leaf adds texture and depth, catching the light just enough to create movement without overwhelming the design.

To finish, a soft pink embellishment ties everything together.  It’s a small detail, but one that draws the eye and completes the card.

Ultraviolet Delight Collection | One for the Purple Lover

G’Day Crafty Friends,

There’s something undeniably magical about purple – it holds both calm and creativity, softness and strength.  This collection, Ultraviolet Delight, is a small celebration of that feeling, wrapped into a series of All Occasions cards.

Each card began with layers of pattern paper in varying shades of violet, lavender and deep plum.  Mixing tones creates a quiet richness – never too bold, but never flat.  It’s the kind of palette that feels both thoughtful and expressive, perfect for any occasion.

The Ephemera pieces were actually fussy cut from one of the paper pieces from the Collection.  I love it when we have so many options to choose from.  They always complement rather than compete – soft florals, faded labels, delicate textures.

The Ribbon adds a finishing touch that feels almost like a signature – softly tied, slightly imperfect and full of charm.  It brings everything together with a gentle sense of care.

This collection is for the purple lovers – the ones who find beauty in depth, in softness, in quiet expression.

Simple Card Layout | Whispers of Wisdom

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I have a project created with one of my very favourite layouts – one I tend to go back to a lot where I just change it up a little each time.  Do you ever do that?  Do you have a favourite layout you use a lot?

Sometimes the most meaningful things come in the smallest formats.

No elaborate design, no overthinking – just a simple card layout that lets each element breathe.  A piece of pattern paper set the tone, soft and understated, like a quiet background hum.  It didn’t need to stand out – it just needed to be there.

On top, a few pieces of ephemera found their place.  Not perfectly aligned, not overly arranged – just gently layered, like thoughts that come and go.

Die cuts added a touch of form.  A small cluster over the top of the already pretty pattern paper.  Don’t you love it when the papers help you out with all your layering & creating?

And then, a ribbon.

Tied softly, slightly imperfect, it brings everything together.  Not as a centerpiece, but as a quiet finishing touch – like a gentle pause at the end of a sentence.

There’s something honest about a simple card.  It doesn’t try too hard. It doesn’t say too much.

Just enough to remind someone they’re on your mind.
