Friday’s Card…

For those who don’t want to do the Recipe Swap, I always have a kit ready.  It is made up of the same colours & usually along the line of the Recipe Page.

Measurements –
Base Card – Concord Crush – 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – Scored down the middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Poppy Parade – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm
Layer 4 – Blushing Bride – 3 7/8″ x 2″ or 9.5cm x 5cm
Layer 5 – DSP – 3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ x 9.5cm x 4cm

Supplies –

Inside Card…

Stamp Set – Fabuloues Florets, Heard from the Heart
Ink – Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock – Whisper White, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade
Punches – Scallop Trim Border
Ribbon – 1/2″ Polly- Stitched – Blushing Bride
Accessories – Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Technique – Rock & Roll
Ink your image with a light coloured ink
Ink the edges of this image with a darker coloured ink by rolling edges of the image onto the ink pad
Stamp your image onto your Cardstock
You are able to repeat the above step using yet another darker coloured ink if you wish
For more images of the same stamp, repeat as many times as you like

I punched along both sides of the Blushing Bride Cardstock using the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  Ensure that you punch along the long sides of this piece.  I adhered the piece of DSP to the top of the punched piece of Cardstock with Snail Adhesive, adhered the piece of ribbon along the middle, tucked ends under, tied a knot on the LHS & set aside.

The stem image was stamped direct onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Pear Pizzazz Ink.  The sentiment was inked in Concord Crush Ink & stamped on the side of the Whisper White Cardstock.  This piece was adhered to the piece of Poppy Parade Cardstock & then to the Base Card – Concord Crush with Snail Adhesive.  I then adhered the punched piece of Cardstock to the top of the card, ensuring the piece went down along the bottom.

I applied the Rock & Roll Technique to my flower image, cut around it & applied to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I will admit that I meant to do a background on the piece of Whisper White Cardstock prior to doing my stamping, but forgot all about it until I had put the card together……

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Guest Designer….

I found a new challenge blog – A La Card Monkey – the other day, as I had a heap of “stuff” on my desk & had not yet cleaned up, thought I would play along.  The blog has been going for some time, but new to me.  This is the card I created & suprise, suprise, I ended up being “The Princess” for the challenge.  How great is that.

As part of being selected “Princess“, I, in turn am a Guest Deisgner for one of their upcoming challenges & it just happens to be this week.

This is the sketch we had to use.  Part of the challenge is we had to use something which represented “Memories“.  To me, happiness always brings back happy memories!

I had only just received a new stamp set the morning I was asked, so of course I had to use it.

Red Robin…

With all the house work etc completed, what else is a girl to do, but make cards!

This one has been created for the Colour Challenge over at Stamping 411

So I ‘ve pulled out my wheel, which I have not used in quiet some time.  I already had my stamp out to use for another card, but that one went by the wayside when these colours come screaming at me!

Cut base card from Wild Wasabi Cardstock lengthways & score in half
Cut Whisper White Cardstock
Inking up SU®  Wheel in Wild Wasabi, roll across the strip of Whisper White
Using your Eyelet Border Punch, punch the edge of the Whisper White
Apply So Saffron Grosgran 5/8″ Ribbon about 3/4″ up from the bottom of Whisper White & tie knot
Adhere to Wild Wasabi card
With a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, Rose Red Ink & Versamark, stamp bird image onto Whisper White, Heat Emboss & cut out – instructions may be found Here
Adhere bird to ribbon using Stamin’ Dimensionals
Using Stampin’ Write Journaler, colour bird’s eye black & apply Crystal Effects
Inking sentiment in Versamark & Basic Black, stamp sentiment directly onto the card & Heat Emboss, as per instructions above for Heat Embossing

Tropical Party…

The following cards have been created using products from the new Mini-Catalogue, so sit back, relax & enjoy!

Using the Scallop Square punch, I punched squares in Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red. I applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back so that they would sit up away from the DSP – Island Oasis.  This way they are not lost in the background.

I stamped Whisper White cardstock with the leaf, using Old Olive.  I punched these out using the 1 1/4″ square punch and adhered to the Scallop Square punch.

For the flower, I stamped the image in Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise & cut out using SU® Paper Snips.  I then adhered to them to the corner of the squares.
