Scrapbook Page

I am a member of a Facebook Group called “Stampin’ Up! Scrapbook Global” & the challenge last week was to case (copy & share everything) a favourite layout from the gallery.  There are so many wonderful layouts that I was sort of torn as to which one to do, but eventually I settled on a great page created by Scrappam Boum  Thank you so much for your inspiration!  You created a gorgeous page.

I have used retired DSP but I am happy with the page just the same.  You could easily change out the designs to current product.  For me, it is a great excuse to #loveitchopit some of my DSP that is still sitting on my shelf.

If you read my blog, you know that I often create pages for my niece & post them down to her.  Sometimes I will add photos, other times the pages are left blank for her to add photos.  The same goes for the journaling – sometimes I do it & other times it is blank for 180617-(2)blogBonnie to do it.

I randomly stamped the bunch of flowers from the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set onto a 12″ x 12″ Whisper White CS in Night of Navy, Marina Mist & Calypso Coral Inks.  I wanted to bring the colours out in the photo but at the same time not make it to “flowery”.

I cut a couple of pieces of the Celebrate Today DSP (2015 Occasions Catalogue) & layered them down the Whisper White Card.  I again cut 2 pieces of DSP from the same pack, punched a banner shape into 1 end of each piece with the Banner Triple Punch, cut each piece back to size & adhered them across the same Whisper White Card.

The photo was matted onto a piece of Marina Mist CS so that it wasn’t White on White & then mattered onto a piece of Night of Navy – again bringing out the colours the blokes are wearing & adhered to the page on an angle.

A flower was stamped onto scrap Whisper White with Calypso Coral Ink, punched with the matching Pansy Punch & adhered to the page with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  I then decided to stamp a leaf onto scrap Whisper White in Old Olive Ink, fussy cut it before adhering under the flower.

My journaling section was stamped with the bunch of flowers in Calypso Coral Ink, punched at one end with the Banner Triple Punch before layering onto a piece of Night of Navy CS which was cut back enough for a small edge to show around all sides, punched with the Banner Triple Punch & adhered to the page.  The actual journaling has been done with the Journaling Pen.

Sneak Peek

I cleaned my desk, schedule & craft room Monday morning hoping that my pre-order goodies would arrive early this week.

Much to my delight they actually arrived mid-morning & of course, I just had to have a play.  Oh the excitement!  I couldn’t get the box opened quick enough to see the new 2015-2017 In Colours in the flesh.  Let me say you won’t be disappointed – they are gorgeous!

The day in the garden, weeding & much loved trip to the dump would have to wait for another day!

As the catalogue is not released as yet, I can only give you a very “sneak peek” at one f the sets I pre-ordered.  Oh how I love this set “You’ve Got This“.  Lots of colouring & playing going to happen here.002wmaa-blog

See the background – that is stamped with an image from the new stamp set using one of the new In Colours – Mint Macaron.  The flower has been coloured with my Blender Pen, along with Watermelon Wonder (another new In Colour) & Calypso Coral.

I used a piece of Calypso Coral Card across the middle & cut the White Jute Ribbon (from the Occasions Catalogue) in half & pulled a couple of strands from the top & bottom of the Ribbon.  This gives it a little bit of a shabby look.  With one of the strands, I tied a small bow & adhered it to the flower with a Glue Dot.

You will have to check back 2 June to see the whole card & tutorial.

If you would like a copy of the catalogue, please feel free to contact me.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Thinking of You

I had to create a card for a friend who lost her friend through cancer the other day!TMS _299

As I liked the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches I decided to play along.  I also decided to use the Colour Challenge over at a new challenge site I found – Nacho Average Challenges. Both these challenges seemed to work in perfectly for what I had in mind & much to my surprise the card come together easier than I thought it was going to.

nac140It was also the perfect time to use up some of my 2013-2015 In Colours which will be retiring at the end of the month.  Crisp Cantaloupe & Baked Brown Sugar are just 2 of the colours I will miss, but hey there are more fantastic colours coming our way 2 June.  “Blooming with Kindness” is retiring at the end of the month too, so it was the perfect time to showcase what can be created using this lovely stamp set.

Bokeh Technique # 2

Our 2nd card from our Bokeh Technique Class last week is using the new Stamp Set “Celebrate Today” which is in the Occasional Catalogue.  I again saw this card on Pinterest as my starting point & then when out on my own.  I think the colours are perfect for the girls.

We did our Technique a little different for this card by wetting the Base Card – Whisper White first & then “blobbing” Ink onto the card with Re-Fills & an Aqua Painter.  I didn’t use Watercolour Paper has I wanted to see if I could do the same technique using ordinary Cardstock.  I love how the result is so different.

The Whisper White Card layered onto the Base Card – Melon Mambo has been embossed using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

For the Balloon, we stamped the Confetti Image onto Vellum Card in Pumpkin Pie Ink prior to cutting out with the Balloon Die, running through the Big Shot & adhering to Card Front.

To create the “Happy“, we used the Little Letters Thinlits – love these letters & use them soooooo much! We used the Reserve & not the letters.  This was adhered to the top of the Balloon with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the Right Hand Sight & Adhesive on the Left Hand Side.

The “Birthday” is from the same Stamp Set & is stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White in Memento Black Ink prior to adhering to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, we tied  bow with Whisper White Baker’s Twine & adhered it to the Balloon with a Glue Dot.

The ladies loved both of their cards.

Balloon Bash…

… meets the Bokeh Technique.

My card today is one I saw on Pinterest a little time ago & thought it perfect for our Bokeh Technique Class last week.

We did a little sponging using Lost Lagoon & Pear Pizzazz Inks.  Love these 2 colours together & layered onto Basic Black Card makes the colours POP!

We applied our Bokeh Technique to the sponged background & stamped the balloon strings direct onto the card. For the Balloons, we stamped 3 onto scraps of Whisper White Card2 x Lost Lagoon & 1 x Pear Pizzazz, fussy cut the Balloons only prior to adhering to Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White Card, prior to fussy cutting, adhering to a piece of Basic Black Card & adhering to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

We layered the card onto Basic Black & then onto the Base Card – Lost Lagoon.

I have 1 kit left which is available for purchase.  It includes the Tutorial but no stampin’ (as per SU!’s policy).  If you are interested, please email me – (Aus residents only).

Until next time Happy Stampin’

Thinking of You…

… with “Sheltering Tree“.  My card is one of those cards that we all have to use but don’t like to create.  Hopefully, it should have been received in the post by the time this post is live.

The Stamp Set is one of the sets I loved immediately upon seeing it in the Occasions Catalogue 2015 & of course this is the first time using it.  I have seen so any gorgeous cards created that ideas were forming as I was stamping.

My card was taken from a couple I have seen on Pinterest using other sets but thought the Tree would be perfect for this card.  I’ve kept it all natural looking just adding colour with in the images.

Sending Many Thanks

Our card today is the 2nd card from our Technique Class a couple of Sundays ago.  You can view the 1st card below.048blog

Again, we used the “Irresistibly Yours” DSP from SALE-A-BRATION!  I love, love, love this paper.

Remember you only have 2 days to go to grab some for yourself as it ends 31 March & will no longer be available.  All you have to do is purchase $AUD90. worth of products before P&H.

As our class was spilt into 2 lots of tables, the class were working on 2 different cards at the same time.  The ladies seem to enjoy working this way as there is less waiting on items & things tend to run a little smoothly.

We used the gorgeous “Butterfly Basics” Bundle which includes the “Butterfly Basic” Stamp Set & the matching Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  These items are from the Occasions Catalogue.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Best Wishes

My card today is one we created in our Technique Class a couple of Sundays ago.  It is using the gorgeous “Irresistibly021bb-blog Yours” DSP from the SALE-A-BRATION Catalogue which ends Tuesday, 31st March.  This DSP may be earned FREE when you spend $AUD90.00 less P&H, but you will have to be quick as you only have 4 days to go.

We also used the lovely “Painted Petals” Stamp Set which is in the current Occasions Catalogue, Page 19.

With lots of sponging, stamping adding a little Button, Twine & Rhinestones you have yourself a lovely card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

It’s Been Case’d

Yep, today’s card has actually been case’d (Copied & Shared Everything) from the magazine we, as demos, receive bi-monthly.027-blog-inside

The project I actually copied was a bag that had been stamped, which immediately jumped out at me when I opened the magazine.  I knew straight away that I wanted to recreate it, but with my own spin, so I sat down last week & quickly come up with this card.  As I’ve said, I did change it a little, but stuck mostly to the colours which were used on the bag.

Again, the colours are out of my comfort zone, but I am more than happy with the final result!  The colours of Hello Honey & Baked brown Sugar are one that I would not normally go for, but I toned it down & softened it a little by using Very Vanilla.  I am loving the pop of Strawberry Slush Butterfly.  What do you think?  Do you like it?

52. Butterfly Basics – Birthday

Wildflower Meadow

I had to create a Birthday Card for my Sharon – my brother’s partner, last month so I pulled out the lovely & now slightly 005aa-blogaddictive “Wildflower Meadow” Stamp.  I had my Colour Coach still sitting on my desk from a previous project & went for a colour I don’t usually play with – Island Indigo.  I then decided that I was going to do a bit of a monochromatic look & bring in Pool Party but with a lot of Whisper White.  As I’ve been doing a lot of Heat Embossing, I decided to continue with it & pulled out my Pool Party Embossing Powder.

Once I had completed my Embossing, I found Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon that I have left over & decided to use it on the card.  I then tied a small Bow & adhered to the top with a Glue Dot.  Looking at it, I opted to leave off a greeting & go with what was in front of me.  002n-b;pgSometimes it is better to have a blank card as you can then use it for all occasions.

To finish the card, I coloured a few Pearls with my Blendabilites until I got a colour that was close to Island Indigio & adhered them to the centre of the flowers.

I liked the card so much that I created another & a matching Notebook.
