Stampin’ Up! Retiring Products Blog Hop

retiringproductsbloghopThank you for joining me today.  I’m pretty excited as this is the first time I’ve been a part of the RemARKably Created Blog Hop which is open to all SU! Demonstrators from around the globe.  I have looked at the hop for a while now & thought this the perfect time to hop along.  This month it is all about Retiring Products!  Thank you so much Janet for making this possible.

As always at the start of a new catalogue year, there is so much that I THINK I am going to miss, but seem to get over very quickly as all the new “stuff” starts to arrive & before I  know it I am once again, busy playing with my new “stuff” that the retired product is long forgotten.

Rose-Wonder---Close-UpI thought I would share with you one of my all time favourite Sets – Rose Wonder along with the matching Rose Garden Thinlits.  I am sure going to miss these items, but no doubt Stampin’ Up! will have much bigger & better things available for us to purchase.

To start off with I stamped the flower onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, coloured with Pink Pirouette & Old Olive Stampin’ Blends (available once again in the new catalogue) before die cutting the rose outline & adhering over the top of the stamped image.

Oh So Eclectic

Heya Stampers,

Today, I am sharing with you a card I created from a left over piece of Watercolour PaperOh,-So-Eclectic-inside I had used on a card a couple of days ago.  Instead of wasting it, I thought it would be great to try & use the piece on something.  As I had the “Naturally Eclectic” DSP sitting on my desk, it suddenly hit me that the colours matched perfectly with the DSP.  Don’t you love it when this happens?

I chose to colour my flower using the Blender Pen along with Sweet Sugarplum & Berry Burst Inks which by the way coordinate with the lovely DSP.  I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower which blended & highlighted the colours a little more as well as adding a bit of sparkle to it.

Oh,-So-Eclectic-close-upFor the inside of my card, I cut a piece of the DSP, adhered a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Card to one side, layered it onto a piece of Whisper White Card before adhering to the inside of the Base Card – Night of Navy.

Do you recognize it?  It is from the front of the Annual Catalogue.  Not much difference, but I have managed to add my own interpretation to it.  Don’t forget to use the Catalogue for inspiration.

There is a free tutorial for you by clicking on the link below to create your own card.  It includes a list of supplies used on the card plus measurements (metric & imperial).

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
