Sailing Away….

With the rainy weather we are having in South East Queensland & the Sunshine Coast, this card is very appropriate, as we will all soon need the boats out to get around.  I love it as it keeps the humidity down!

Inside…

?Our class today at Crafty Creations was to create a male card.  These cards can sometimes prove the most difficult to make, but this one come together quiet easy.  In fact, I was really surprised at how it all came together.  I love the final result!
??

Measurements –
Base Card – Night of Navy – 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – Scored in the middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Whisper White – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Riding Hood Red – 3″ x 4″ or 7.5cm x 10cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 2 7/8″ x 4″ or 7cm x 10cm
Layer 4 – Riding Hood Red – 3 5/8″ x 3 1/8″ or 9cm x 8cm??

Layer 5 – Whisper White – 3 1/2″ x 3″ or 8.5cm x 7.5cm

I wanted the card to be Navy & White mostly, with just a touch of Red showing.

I adhered the DSP to the piece of Riding Hood Red leaving just a small amount of the red showing at the top.  This was then adhered to the piece of Whisper White prior to adhering to the Base Card – Night of Navy using Snail Adhesive.

Envelope…

?I stamped the image onto Whisper White using Staz-On, allowed to dry & using my Blender Pen & SU Marker – Riding Hood Red, I coloured a little of the sails.  This piece was then adhered to Riding Hood Red using Snail Adhesive, before adhering to the Base Card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped my sentiment onto Whisper White using Night of Navy Ink, punched with the small Oval Punch, adhered to a punched piece of Riding Hood Red which had been punched with the Large Oval Punch & then adhered to the bottom of the card with Snail Adhesive.

I love the whole look of this card!

New Technique…

I did this card quiet sometime ago.  In fact, it was for Father’s Day – so I must apologise for not having any measurements.

I found this great Technique – Acetate & Tissue, over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Base Card – Garden Green Cardstock
Layer 1 – Very Vanilla
Layer 2 – DSP

Layer 3 – Tangerine Tango
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla
Using Snail Adhesive, I adhered the DSP to the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock & then to the Base Card – Garden Green.
I stamped the boat image direct onto the piece of Acetate using Black Staz-On Ink & set aside to dry.
I stamped the tree images onto the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Garden Green Ink.
With the piece of stamped Acetate, I applied Crystal Effects all over the back, ensuring the Effects were covering a large part of the Acetate.  Once this was done, using my Garden Green Re-Inker, I applied a couple of random drops onto the Crystal Effects & moved it around with my finger until I was happy with the look of the coverage.

At this stage, I added a little of Dazzling Diamonds to give it a little bit of a lift & some sparkle behind the Acetate when finished.

I then added a larger piece of tissue over the whole lot, turned the Acetate over so that the front was now facing me & placed it over the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock & pressed into place.  I trimed the piece to the size I wanted which in this case, was slightly smaller than the Tangerine Tango Piece I was adhering it to.

This whole piece was adhered over the top of the DSP & to the Base Card.

I stamped the greeting onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Tangerine Tango Ink, punched with Oval Punch & adhered to piece of Bashful Blue which had been punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.  I applied this to the card with SU Dimensionals.

The final result for this technique is really stunning & has so much potential.  I must make another card using this technique again.

Ink – Garden Green, Staz-On Black
DSP – Woodland Walk

Non-SU – Tissue
Until next time, Enjoy!

Challenge 130…

Today’s card is for the challenge over on my Yahoo Group.  It calls for members to use new stuff from the new catalogue.  The states have their new catalogue, but here in Oz, we don’t get ours until 1 September.

Inside card…

I purchsed the stamp I am using for this challenge sometime ago, but never gotten round to using it.  Mind you I have seen some beautiful creations with this stamp.  It is in our current Mini-Catalogue.  With my card, I went away from the traditional nautical colours.  My inspiration comes from a box in the current Catalogue.

Base Card – Crumb Cake 4 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Crumb Cake – 5″ x 3″ or 12.5cm x 9cm
Layer 2 – Basic Black – 2 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ or 9cm x 7cm
Layer 3 – Tangerine Tango – 2 5/8″ x 2 3/8″ or 8.5cm x 6.5cm
Layer 4 – Whisper White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ x 8cm x 6cm

I stamped my image directly onto Whisper White using Crumb Cake Ink, adhered to Tangerine Tango & then to Basic Black.  For the smaller piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, I run this through my Bigshot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

I adhered So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon along the bottom of the embossed piece of Crumb Cake, tied a knot, adhered the stamped piece to the embossed piece & adhered the whole piece to the base card!

In the photo the embossed piece is not able to be seen very clearly, but it gives a lovely effect.

Ink – Crumb Cake
Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ribbon – 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon – So Saffron (Retired)
