Thinking of You….

For the past week or so I’ve been playing with a couple of colours & for the lif eof me, cannot get enough of them together.  This is the first that I finished this morning.  Yep, heaps of unfinished cards, etc sitting on the side of my desk.  To make matters worse they just keep getting moved from one place to another & back again everyday…..

I’ve also been playing with Re-Inkers & Blender Pen.  This is my first card using both.

Envelope & Inside card…

Measurements –
Base Card – Sahara Sand – 11 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 29.5cm x 10.5cm – Scored in middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Pink Pirouette – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Very Vanilla – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 – Bravo Burgundy – 2″ x 4 1/4″ or 5cm x 11.5cm
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 1 7/8″ x 4″ or 4.5cm x 11cm

Close up of Embossing & Flowers….

I stamped 2 images onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla with Staz-On Ink & set aside to dry.  I placed a couple of drops of Pink Pirouette Re-Inker onto a Clear Mount Block, coloured my images with a Blender Pen.  I added a very tiny tiny amount of Bravo Burgundy Re-Inker to the same Block & sort of mixed the 2 together so that I could get a darker colour without being too Bravo Burgundy. I picked this up with my Blender Pen & coloured the flower closer to the middle & blended out towards the edges.  For the centres, I used Bravo Burgundy Re-Inker & Blender Pen to blend, although in the photo it looks a little pink.  I set these aside to dry prior to cutting around images.  Colouring on Very Vanilla Cardstock gives the colour a little more of a soft look then if it had’ve been on Whisper White.

I run the larger piece of Very Vanilla through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Flower Garden. This piece was adhered to the piece of Pink Pirouette with Tombow Glue & then to the Base Card – Sahara Sand with Snail Adhesive.

I stamped the stem onto the long piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Garden Green Ink & adhered to the piece of Bravo Burgundy Cardstock with Snail Adhesive.  I tied a piece of Bravo Burgundy Ribbon around the bottom & tied a knot. The whole piece was adhered to the Base Card.

I adhered the 2 flower images over the top of the stem with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped direct onto the Base Card with Bravo Burgundy Ink.

A fairly easy card, but one that I like as the Blender Pen & Re-Inkers give the flowers a little bit of depth.  Next time, I will try the same technique using Watercolour Paper, as well as Aqua Painter & Watercolour Paper.

Loads of Love….

… is a Stamp Set I have not used much, in fact very rarely has it been out of it’s case.  Thinking about what to create for my class at the Community Centre this arvo, thought this ight be appropriate.  I like to give the ladies Kits that they can use for either male or female cards.  Mind you, this doesn’t work sometimes, but they don’t seem to mind.

Our class has seen an increase in the last 2 weeks from 10 regulars to about 16 now & growing, so I have been thinking how the class can be managed now that I will have 16+ regulars each week & I think it has just hit me, but more about that next week.

Using this stamp set, I didn’t want to make a male’s card, so thought why not a girl’s card & use all the pretty colours fro the “Subtles Family”.  I’m quiet happy with the final result & screams “Girly”.

Measurements –

Inside Card….

Base Card – Pretty in Pink – 11 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 29.5cm x 10.5cm – scored in the middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Rose Red – 5 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 3 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ or 9cm x 4cm
Layer 3 – Pretty in Pink – 4″ x 2 5/8″ or 10.5cm x 6.5cm
Layer 4 – Whisper White – 3 7/8″ x 2 1/2″ or 10cm x 6cm

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Loads of Love, So Happy for You (Retired)
Ink – Rose Red, Certainly Celery
Cardstock – Whisper white, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink
Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots
Accessories – Tombow Glue, Flowers, SU Markers – Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Blender Pen, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Brads – Rose Red, Re-Inker – Pretty in Pink, Bigshot, Crimper

Method –
Colour the larger Flower with Pretty in Pink Re-Inker & set aside to dry.  Do this by adding a small amount of water into a bowl along with a small drop or so of Pretty in Pink Re-Inker, drop flower in until all covered in coloured water.  I wanted my flower a very light colour so I only used a small drop
Run the piece of Rose Red Cardstock through the Crimper – longways & adhere to Base Card – Pretty in Pink with Tombow Glue
Run the small piece of Whisper White Cardstock through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots & adhere to card with Tombow Glue
Stamp images direct onto Whisper White Cardstock with Rose Red Ink
Colour image using Blender Pen, SU Markers – Pretty in Pink, Rose Red & Certainly Celery
Adhere to piece of Pretty in Pink Cardstock & then to Base Card with Snail Adhesive
Attach Flowers together with Brad & adhere to card with Stampn’ Dimensional
Stamp senitment onto Whisper White with Certainly Celery Ink sideways

After completing this card in these colours, I think I will be making a coupl emore in “girly” colours – gives a whole fresh look to the stamp set!

Until next time, enjoy!

SC 024/12…

What a great challenge Kris has provided us with this week.  Along with the sketch, we had to use the stamp set “Under the Big Top“.  For those of us that attended Regionals, this is the set we received FREE!!!!!

I decided to make the card for my little cousin, Kate, who is in hospital having her tonsils out & is very angry at the Doctors for what they did to her.  All she wanted was her “Mummy” & poor ol’ “Pappy” was so upset that Kate didn’t want anything to do with him!!!!  Isn’t that always the way????

I used a lot of pretty colours which I thought a 4 year old would like, including colours that I have not used for so long.

Measurements –
Base Card – Whisper White – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 10.5cm – Scored in the middled & folded in half
Layer 1 – Pretty in Pink – 5 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ or 13.5cm x 9cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 3 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ or 9cm x 4cm
Layer 3 – Bashful Blue – 3 3/8″ x 1 3/8″ or 8.5cm x 3.5cm
Layer 4 – Whisper White – 3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ or 9.5cm x 4cm
Layer 5 – Certainly Celery – 3 5/8″ x 1 3/8″ or 9cm x 3.5cm

I run Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery pieces of Cardstock through the Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka DotsPretty in Pink was adhered to the Base Card – Whisper White, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery were both adhered to the corresponding pieces of Whisper White & adhered to Pretty in Pink using Multipurpose Glue.

I stamped the image with Staz-On onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock twice, allowed to dry, before colouring using my Stampin’ Up! Markers & Blender Pen.  I repeated again for the second image except colouring the skirt only, cut out & put aside.

I punched the image using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, adhered to a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock which had been punched with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch & adhered to the Base Card.

I adhered the second skirt to the top of the image with Stampin’ Dimensionals & added little dots to the scallops of the Scallop Punch with my White Gel Pen.  Since the photo was taken, I also added Dazzling Diamonds to the top of the sirt with 2-Way Glue Pen.  What little girl doesn’t love a bit of glitter?  What big girl doesn’t????

SC 012/11…

A new challenge is up & running over at Sunny Challenges & Creations
This week, it was my turn to set the challenge & with our challenges we don’t just get the sketch, but a 2nd part too, that being Flowers, Flowers, Flowers.  How easy can it be!!!!  We all love making cards with flowers.  Let’s face it – they are the easiest cards to make!
Now on with my card –
Base Card – Soft Suede – 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – score @ 4 1/8″ or 10.47cm & fold in half
Layer 1 – Pink Pirouette – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Very Vanilla – 5 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 14xm x 10.5cm
Layer 3 – Soft Suede – 4″ x 1 1/4″ or 10cm x 3cm
Layer 4 – DSP – 4″ x 1 1/4″ or 10cm x 3cm
Close Up of Embossing
Using my Embossing Buddy, I rubbed it over the piece of Very Vanilla, stamped my image onto Versamark & then Pink Pirouette Ink before stamping it onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I poured Clear Embossing Powder over the image, tapped off excess & applied Dazzling Diamonds on top, tapped excess off & heat set with my Heat Tool.  You are not able to see the Dazzling Diamonds in the photo, but it does sparkle in real life.
I cut this piece into 3 equal pieces & adhered to the piece of Pink Pirouette using my Snail Adhesive
I repeated the same technique for my senitment, except I used Soft Suede Ink.  This was stamped directly onto the piece of DSP.  I tore both sides of the DSP & adhered to the piece of Soft Suede Cardstock
Tip – When tearing DSP or Cardstock, ensure you tear it towards you.  This way you will get the torn section showing on your work

?

Card Inside…

?

I adhered a piece of Ribbon along the bottom of the DSP, tied a bow, applied 3 Basic Pearls & adhered to the piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock.
The Pink Pirouette Cardstock was then adhered to the Base Card – Soft Suede.
Wow, after reading this, it sort of come together really easy, but believe me, it took me a little longer to figure out what I was actually going to do for this sketch.
For my Inside, I again tore a piece of DSP, adhered to a piece of Soft Suede & then to Very Vanilla prior to adhering to inside of card.  I wanted a small piece of Very Vanilla showing at the bottom – see photo.  It broke the Soft Sude on Soft Suede.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Elements of Style, So Happy for You
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, Versamark
Cardstock – Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla
DSP – Beau Chateau
Ribbon – 5/8″ Taffeta – Very Vanilla
Accessories – Basic Pearls, Snail Adhesive, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy,
Embossing Powder – Clear, Dazzling Diamonds

TSSC183…

I can’t believe the roll I have been on – will it last?????
This card has been created for 2 challenges, the sketch over at Mary-Jo’s Blog which is a Blog Hop.  The other is from Handstamped Sentiments which is a theme – Summer.  I know it is hard to imagine summer here in Australia at the moment, but I did use paper & stamps from a past Mini, which I thought suited the challenge well.
Base Card – Old Olive – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm c 10.5cm
Layer 1 – DSP – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Tempting Turquoise – 4 1/2″ x 3″ or 11.5cm x 7.5cm
Layer 3 – Old Olive – 4 3/8″ x 2 7/8″ or 11cm x 7cm
Layer 4 – Tempting Turquoise – 3 3/8″ x 2″ or 9cm x 5cm
Layer 5 – Whisper White – 3 1/4″ x 1 7/8″ or 8.5cm x 4.5cm
I stamped images directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock, using Old Olive Ink & adhered to the piece of Tempting Turquoise.  I did stamp off a couple of times for some of the images.  For my sentiment, I used Early Expresso Ink.
I run the piece of Old Olive Cardstock through my Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Square Lattice.  It reminds me of  Bamboo & Thatching, so thought it very appropriate.  This was then adhered to Tempting Turquoise, to the DSP & then to the Base Card – Old Olive.
I stamped my flower onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Daffodil Delight Ink, cut it out & adhered using a SU Dimensional.  After stamping my inside, I then decided that the front looked a bit “Yuh” so I then stamped 2 smaller flowers using Tempting Turquoise Ink.  I adhered these using SU Dimensionals.  It bought the whole card alive.  Much happier.  I added 3 Rhinestones to the center of the flowers.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Tropical Pary, So Happy for You
Inks – Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Early Expresso
Cardstock – Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Old Olive
DSP – Island Oasis
Embossing Folder – Square Lattice
Accessories – SU Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Multipurpose Glue, Bigshot
Until next time, Enjoy!

Technique…

Inside of Card…

?

For the class at Caloundra Community Centre, we did the Technique – Baby Wipe.  This one has been around for some time, but I never tire of it & for the life of me, can’t understand why I don’t do it more often.  Tutorial for this Technique may be found Here…
Now I have made 2 complete different cards, each using the same design from pre-SU.  Mind you, these look nothing like the original.

Base Card – Tempting Turquoise – 4 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Whisper White – 4 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Daffodil Yellow – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ or 11.5cm x 9cm
Layer 3 – Whisper White – 4 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ or 11cm x 8.5cm
Layer 4 – Melon Mambo – 3 1/2″ x 3″ or 9cm x 7.5cm
Layer 5 – Whisper White – 3 3/8″ x 2 7/8″ or 8.5cm x 7cm

For the colours of my Baby Wipe, I used Re-Inkers – Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo & Elegant Eggplant.

Layer 1 –
I adhered a piece of Taffeta Ribbon across the top half of Whisper Cardstock & then applied to the Base Card – Tempting Turquoise.

Layer 2 –
First up, I stamp the flower images randomly across the larger piece of Whisper White.  Then using Old Olive Ink, I stamped the leaf image randomly around the flowers & adhered to Daffodil Yellow Cardstock.  I adhered Taffeta Ribbon across the top part of the card, ensuring that both ribbon pieces matched up evenly on the cardstocks.  I tied a bow & adhered to card.

Layer 3 –
Stamp the butterfly images randomly over the smaller piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhere to the Melon Mambo Cardsock.  I adhered this piece to the 2nd layer & then adhered the whole lot to the base card.

I stamped the sentiment using Old Olive Ink directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Flower Fancy, All a Flutter, So Happy for You
Inks – Old Olive
Cardstock – Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Daffodil Yellow, Melon Mambo
Ribbon – 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon – Daffodil Yellow
Re-Inkers – Tempting Turquoise. Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant

Accessories – Multipurpose Glue, Snail Adhesive

Until next time when I will post the 2nd card.

Enjoy!

Inkspirations Challenge #73…

It is amazing what you find when you clean your desk & how bits of left over scraps will come together to make a card, let alone fit a challenge.  This is what I did for the Sketch Challenge over at Inkispirations Challenge  I took the colours from scraps lying on my desk & teamed them with the scraps of DSP.  I don’t feel so guilty of not cleaning my desk!  That is my excuse anyhow.

I was recently asked if I stamped my envelopes to match my cards.  Ever since I started making cards, I had to match the envelopes to my cards.  I know the ladies I used to do cards with, thought it funny & strange, but that was me – has to match.  I also do the inside to match as well.  In future, I will show you both the envelope & inside, along with the card.

Base Card – Crumb Cake– 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 –  Cherry Cobbler – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Very Vanilla – 2 1/4″ x 2″ or 6cm x 5cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 2 1/8″ x 1 7/8″ or 5.5cm x 4.5cm
Layer 4 – Soft Suede – 5 3/4″ x 7/8″ or 14.5cm x 1cm

Layer 5 – Early Expresso – 3″ x 2 1/2″ or 8cm x 6.5cm
Layer 6 – Very Vanilla – 2 78″ x 2 1/8″ or 7.5cm x 6cm

I adhered both pieces of DSP to Soft Suede & Very Vanila &  attached to Cherry Cobbler – as per the sketch.  Using Early Expresso & Soft Suede Inks, I stamped the image randomly onto the piece of Very Vanilla, adhered it to the Expresso Expresso, then to the Cherry Cobbler.  This piece was then adhered to the Base Card – Crumb Cake.
Using my Boho Blossoms Punch, I punch 5 flowers in Cherry Cobbler & adhered these randomly to the card.  Basic Pearls were adhered to the middle of each flower.
I used my Cherry Cobbler SU Marker to colour in the greeting, stamped directly onto Very Vanilla & punched out using the Word Window Punch.  I adhered this to the punched piece of Soft Suede which had been punched using my Modern Label.  This was adhered to the card.  I didn’t exactly place it as per the sketch, so I hope the operators will forgive for this.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Just Believe, So Happy for You
Inks – Early Expresso, Soft Suede
Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Early Expresso
DSP – Elegant Soriee
Punches – Word Window, Modern Label, Boho Blossoms
Accessories – Multipurpose Glue, Basic Pearls, SU Markers
All in all, another easy, fun CAS card!
Until next time, Enjoy!

Easter…

With Easter being just around the corner, I thought it would be a great way to make a couple of cards for some special people.  They will know who they are when they receive them!

Base Card – Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Bashful Blue – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm – cut, score & fold in half

Layer 1 – Pretty in Pink – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm

I layered Pretty in Pink Cardstock onto each of Perfect Plum, So Saffron & Bashful Blue.  I haven’t used any of these colours in so long, that it was great to get back to the Soft Colours.

I stamped the bunny using my Versamark & Chocolate Chip Inks, poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top & heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I repeated this step for the other 2 cards.  I then used the Masking Technique for my bunny, inked my image in Certainly Celery & stamped it over the bunny & Whisper White Cardstock.  Repeat twice for the other 2 cards.

Inking my flower image with Pretty in Pink Ink, I stamped it randomly among the reeds.  I repeated the same step again for the 2nd card.  For my third card, I used a butterly image & Bashful Blue Ink

For my sentiment, stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock & heat embossed the ink using Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink & Perfect Plum Inks.  I then punched them out using the Large Oval Punch.  After punching a piece of Perfect Plum, So Saffron & Bashful Blue Cardstock using the Scallop Oval Punch, I adhered this to the sentiment & then to the cards.  I adhered the Whisper White Cardstock to the base cards.

I coloured the Rhinestones using my Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink & More Mustard Markers.  I applied a little Crystal Effects over the top of each so that the colour would set, adhered some around the necks of the bunnys & to the centres of the flowers & butterfly images.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Chocolate Bunny, Well Scripted, Priceless, So Happy For You
Inks – Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Versamark
Cardstock – Perfect Plum, Whisper White, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink
Punches – Large Oval, Scallop Oval
