Happy Retirement

Hometown-Greetings---Close-

G’Day Stampers,

Once again I’ve been playing with the Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies & have been wanting to use them other than for Christmas.  We created 2 cards in our class on Friday using the same Dies but both very different which I will share with you later on in the week.

For my card today, I cut 3 of the houses from Whisper White CS using the smaller Die & then cut them back to the size & shape I wanted before colouring with the Watercolour Pencils so that they looked like beach huts.

For my scene, I masked off a circle for the sun punched using the 1/2” Circle Punch & then coloured with the Watercolour Pencils.  Once the mask was removed I lightly coloured the sun with the Daffodil Delight Pencil & carried it through onto the ocean.  The sun was highlighted with the Clear Wink of Stella.

A circle has been cut into a piece of Whisper White CS overlapping on the left hand side of the Card using the Layering Circles Framelits.

The chair is from Colourful Seasons (available in a Bundle) & has been stamped direct onto the same Whisper White in Bermuda Bay & the seat in Crumb Cake Inks.  The drink is in Pumpkin Pie.

The branch has been stamped in Crumb Cake while the flowers are in Daffodil Delight.  To pop them a little more, I then added Pumpkin Pie to the centres & blended with the Blender Pen.

The piece of scenery was then adhered behind the stamped Whisper white & trimmed from the left hand side before layering onto a piece of Crumb Cake CS & then to the Base Card – Bermuda Bay.  The beach huts were then adhered in place with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments & stamped direct onto the Whisper White in Memento Tuxedo Black.  To finish the card I randomly adhered Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the front & flower centres.

Why not give it ago & check out your stamps & Dies with new eyes.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Kylie’s International Highlights

Thank you once again to everyone who voted for me last month.  I got to be part of the Top Ten Winners Blog Hop.  If you didn’t catch the amazing creations, please check them out.  Where does the time go?  In saying that it is that time again where I am once again playing along with Kylie’s International Blog Highlights.

This month the theme is “Sympathy“.  It is not something we like to create but as I am down a little on this type of card, I have been creating a few for an upcoming event, so perfect timing.  The only problem was which one to showcase for this hop?

Not sure of what is Kylie’s International Highlights?   It is where Demonstrators from all around the world take part in a monthly Blog Highlight.  It’s a great way to get to know other Demonstrators & see projects using current Stampin’ Up!® product.

What is so different about this Blog Highlight?  YOU get to vote for your top 5 favourites.  The top ten will then get to take part in an international blog hop with Kylie & other Vote for Me Heretalented successful demonstrators.

What do I do?  All you have to do is click on the “Vote for Me” photo at the side or head on over to Kylie’s Blog, click on the heart in the top right hand side of the picture.  I’m #3!

For my card today I’ve used the gorgeous new “Painted Harvest” Stamp Set from the 2017Painted-Harvest---Sympathy- Holiday Catalogue.  Perfect for all occasions.  I’m not sure if you can get pink sunflowers but I like the colours – Powder Pink & Flirty Flamingo.  The leaves are Pear Pizzazz, while the sentiment is in Chocolate Chip.

I’ve teamed the inks up with Chocolate Chip, Powder Pink & Whisper White CS.  The large piece of Whisper white has been embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.

To grab your free tutorial, click on the link above the photo.  It includes all product used in the project along with measurements (metric & imperial).

Be sure to check out all the other lovely creations when you pop on over to Kylie’s Blog .  Don’t forget to go & vote for the ones you love & leave them a little love!

Global Design Project 096

I have a clean & simple card for you today which has been inspired by the Global Design GDP096Project #GDP076 – Case the Designer Challenge.  Hasn’t Tanja Kolar created a gorgeous card?

I had been thinking about creating something with the “Butterfly Basics” Stamp Set for a couple of days now & this was just the perfect way to showcase this lovely set.  I am also low on my Sympathy Cards (have a Expo coming up) so it worked in well.

The Very Vanilla Card has been embossed with the Fluttering EF & then adhered to the Base Card – Elegant Eggplant.

Butterfly-Basics---Close-UPThe large flower was inked using my Regals Stampin’ Write Markers – Always Artichoke & Elegant Eggplant, while the middle of the flower is Crushed Curry.

The butterfly was stamped onto Very Vanilla in Rose Red before die cutting with the matching Butterflies Thinlits & adhered to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals under the wings.  This is so that the wings would stay popped a little.

The sentiment was stamped onto scrap Very Vanilla in Elegant Eggplant before being punched with the Classic Label Punch & adhered to the Card Front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I completed the card by adding Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the centre of the butterfly &Butterfly-Basics---Inside randomly scattering a couple around the square.

Thank you Global Design Team for a great challenge.  Be sure to go & check out the amazing creations everyone has created.

SC 092/13…

Crikey these weeks come round fast.  It just seems like yesterday that we had our last challenge, but looking at my last post, I haven’t posted much in the last couple of weeks.  Hopefully, that will be fixed this week.

It was my turn to do the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & thought it would be great if we had a Colour Theme.  “Pool Party”  seems to be the in-colour for Christmas this year, so this should be an easy colour for everyone to join in the fun.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any measurements for my card this week.  I sold it last Sunday at the Handmade Expo.  I had completely forgotten that I had created it for this challenge & only took a photo at the last moment, else I would have had to create another card.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Ornament Keepsakes, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink – Island Indigo, Pool Party
Cardstock – Whisper White, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Smokey Slate
Embossing Folders – Pretty Print, Stylish Stripes
Framelits – Ornament Keepsakes
Punches – 2 1/2″ Circle, Word Window, Modern Label
Ribbon – 1/8″ Silver
Accessories – Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

I run the piece of Island Indigo CS through the BS using Stylish Stripes EF.  This is fast becoming one of my favourite folders.  The piece of Pool Party CS was again put through the BS, this time using Pretty Print EF.  I then ran a piece of the Silver Ribbon across the middle of the joins & tied a bow.  I adhered both these embossed pieces to a piece of Whisper White CS prior to adhering to Base Card – Smokey Slate.

I stamped 3 different size snowflake images onto Whisper White CS – 1 x Island Indigo, 1 x Pool Party & a smaller one again in Island Indigo. The 2 largest were then run through the BS using the matching Framelits prior to layering on top of each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I cut out the middle of the small snowflake & adhered to the centre.

I punched a circle from Whisper White CS with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, adhered to Base Card prior to adhering the snowflakes to the centre with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting was stamped onto Whisper White CS in Pool Party Ink, punched with the Word Label Punch & adhere to a piece of Island Indigo which had been punched with the Modern Label Punch.  It was then adhered to the Base Card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I placed a small Rhinestone Jewel in the centre, as well as either side of the sentiment.

To see what Kris has created, head on over to Sunny Challenges & check it out.  Why not join us for this fun challenge.  We love seeing your wonderful work & leaving comments on your blog.

SC 089/13…

It was my turn to set the challenge this week at Sunny Challenges & Creations.  I went with the theme of “BABY“.

This could be anything from cards, 3-D Projects or even a Scrapbook page.  In fact I very nearly did a page, but my mind went blank at the last moment.  I even had a hard time creating my card for the challenge.  Do you ever get something in your mind, knowing that it is all wrong, but not knowing where to go?  This happened to me.

Once I had finished my card, I suddenly realised that I had created the whole card on top of my catalogue which was opened at the page the stamp set appeared on.  I am just lucky that I didn’t get glue, etc all over the page……

My card is a little different as I don’t really have any “baby” stamps, except for my wheel.  As bicycles seem to be popular at the Handmade Expo I attend, I thought it perfect timing to catch up on  my baby cards.

For the inside of my card, I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock back to 5 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ or 14cm x 9.5cm & adhered to the inside Base Card.  I cut an upside down “V” into a 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ or 2cm x 14cm piece of DSP  to form a pennant shape & adhered to top of Whisper White Card.

Stamp Set – Timeless Talk – 126607, Teeny Tiny Sentiments – 120024

Christmas Card #1…

Last week I had the privilege of having a class with 20 or so ladies.  I usually do this class one every year where we create Birthday Cards.  They then give out the same cards throughout the year when their birthdays come around.  For something a little different, we decided to create Christmas Cards & concentrate on embossing, which was a huge hit!

Doing a class this size can be quiet exhausting & utter chaos, but I think we have it down to a fine art now whereby we are in about 5/6 small groups.  Each group has their own supplies, including inks, stamps, kits, etc while at the same time creating 5/6 different cards.

In fact, this time round I had a table where I left the Punches to be used, Big Shot & about 4 different Embossing Folders.  It worked brilliantly!

Mind you it does take me some time to think up some easy designs & cards, but at the same time, ensuring that the ladies will love them & get to use different supplies.  It also gave me a chance to use up some of my retired stock.

As with these classes everyone’s card always turns out very different, which is great!

Iris Folding…

… & Christmas in July!

Today’s card is the one we created in my Volunteer Class this arvo.

One of the ladies from the class had requested that we learn a little bit of “Iris Folding“.  I am only too happy to try & do what the class requests.  It makes it a little easier on me by trying to come up with ideas.

I did a little bit of research on Pinterest – very addictive site – found this simple but yet effective card.  I wanted to make a start on our Christmas Cards this month as well, so this fitted perfectly for our class & “killed 2 birds with the 1 stone“, so to speak.

I must apologise for not knowing where this come from, but please do let me know if it is you as I would like to give you credit.  Thank you so much for the inspiration!

SC 081/13…

Our challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is to use something from the Seasonal Catalogue before it retires – 30 June – & create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item.  The list is endless.

I had so much going around in my head about what to do, so instead of going to create something new, I decided to pull out my “Another Day” Box – that is what Gwen calls it!!!!!!  Don’t you love that name?  I think it is a perfect name for that box that we all have sitting somewhere in our Craft Rooms.  Mine just happens to sit on my desk.  I often find myself going through it & finding “stuff” that I had completely forgotten I had started & didn’t finish.  My card is one of those!!!!!!

When the Catalogue first come out I was just so excited to find a sea set sitting there waiting just for me to get my hands on.  Anything to do with the beach & I am “gone”.  “By the Tide” was the first set I purchased.  In fact it was a purchase by itself & started playing as soon as it arrived, but then obviously didn’t finish it.  All I had to do was basically add the Base Card & that was it!  How easy was that?  Everything had already been done.

We would love for you to join us this week.  All you have to do is head on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations, check out what Kris & Alison have created.  Create your card, scrapbook page or 3-D item, post to your blog or on line group/forum & then head back & link with Mr Linky.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

SC 080/13…

It was my turn to set the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations this week.  I’ve been very easy in that there is no 2nd part to the challenge, only the sketch.

I wanted to do a simple little card as I seemed to have gone to all white cards of late.  Funny how we go through stages, but to be honest this is my style & the one I love creating.  I also need to stock up on my “Get Well” Cards as I sold a lot of them at the Handmade Expo last month.

I’ve also used one of my new stamp sets I purchased in the last month – Summer Silhouettes.  It has taken me a long time to obtain this set AND I love it.  The set makes for simple easy 5 minute cards while creating something with a bit of a “WOW”.

Scrap Booking….

I am trying very hard to get back into my scrapbooking.  It has been so long, but having my photos all over the place does not help.  So with a bit of luck, I will be able to sort them out while scrapping my photos.

First up are 2 lovely photos of my nieces which were taken early on in the year.  These are such lovely photos, that it was the perfect opportunity to begin with Amber & Dannielle.  Belive it or not, but they are identical twins, hence the title of the pages.  People who have known them all their lives are still unable to tell them apart.  I have to guess which one they are talking about by the stories they relay to me.

Besides doing the 12 x 12 pages, I like to create albums using A4 pages.  Sometimes, I find them a little more easier to handle & seem to fit more in an album than the standard 12 x 12 album.  Fingers crossed SU! will bring out an album to fit A4 pages.

I didn’t want to do the usual beach theme, so I decided to go with the colours in their dresses.  I printed the title onto a piece of Textured Whisper White using the colours in their dresses & adhered to the page with Chystal Effects.  I did pour Crystal Effects over each letter to make it stand out a little.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Vintage Vogue, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink – Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Basic Black
Cardstock – Textured – Whisper White, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise
DSP – Island Oasis (Retired)
Ribbon – 5/8″ Organza – White, Hemp Twine
Punches – Tiny Tags, Scallop Edge
Accessories – Crystal Effects, Snail Adhesive, SU Dimensionals

Until next time, Enjoy!
