I did mention a little while ago that I would be sharing with you lots of cards created with retiring product.  Today is one such card although we did create it in one of our classes a few weeks ago.

It’s a very simple card but I think the techniques speak for themselves – Sponging, Heat Embossing & Dazzling Diamonds.  We teamed the techniques up with the Butterflies Thinlits.

If you want to grab these Thinlits before they are gone, then please check out the Last-Chance Products – Occasions & Annual (which are selling very fast) before they are gone & gone forever..

Remember to use the Host Code for April when shopping Online.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Girl’s Birthday….

Today’s card is a very simple & easy card.  I’ve created this for my cousin’s shop.  I find with little girls, the CAS ones are the best.  Add a bit of glitter or bling & you have a winner.  This card is one of my more popular designs.  I am also finding I am slowly using up all my bits of current & retired DSP.

Layer 2 – Pretty in Pink – 1/2″ x 4 1/8″ or 1.5cn x 10.5cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 1 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 3cm x 10.5cm
Layer 4 – Pretty in Pink – 1/2″ x 4 1/8″ or 1.5cm x 10.5cm

LNS 159…

This card was created for my cousin who has requested a number of Misc Cards for her shop.  It is also the card we did this arvo at the Community Centre.  Mind you, I did have a number of boys cards for them to select from, as not all the ladies have granddaughters.  In fact, most of them have grandsons.

Envelope & Inside Card…

After seeing this week’s challenge at Late Night Stampers, this is the perfect card for that too.  “It is to create a Girly Girl card, srapbook page, project, or 3D item.  Make your creation as feminine as you can.  Lots of frilly, ruffly, and anything else you can think of items on your card.  We want these creations to ooze Girly Girl!”

To me, this sort of card screams Pink, Pink, Pink & more Pink!  I kept to a very simple layout & a clean card on purpose!

Measurements –
Base Card – Pretty in Pink – 11 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 30cm x 10.5cm – Scored in the middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Whisper White – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 – Whisper White – 3″ x 2″ or 7.5cm x 5cm
Layer 4 – Pretty in Pink – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ or 7cm x 4.5cm
Layer 5 – Whisper White – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ or 6.5cm x 4cm

I layered the DSP onto the larger piece of Whisper White using Snail Adhesive, adhered a piece of Ribbon across the middle, tucked the ends under & tied a knot to the left hand side.  The whole piece was then adhered to the Base Card – Whisper White using Snail Adhesive.

Close up of Ballerina….

I stamped my image onto the smallest piece of Whisper White using Staz-On Ink & again onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock.  I coloured the image using my Blender Pen, SU! Markers – Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo & So Saffron.  I repeated the same for the 2nd image, except just colouring the little skirt.  I cut around this skirt, added Dazzling Diamonds with a 2-Way Glue Pen & adhered to the main image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This whole piece was then adhered to the piece of Pretty in Pink, then to the larger piece of Whisper White & finally to the Base Card using Snail Adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment onto another piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock with Staz-On, punched with the Modern Label & adhered to a piece of Pretty in Pink, which I had punched using the Modern Label, cut down the middle & adhered to the Whisper White, so that I had a little piece of Pretty in Pink showing at both ends.

I adhered 2 Rhinestones to either end.  These were coloured with a permanent marker.

SC 024/12…

What a great challenge Kris has provided us with this week.  Along with the sketch, we had to use the stamp set “Under the Big Top“.  For those of us that attended Regionals, this is the set we received FREE!!!!!

I decided to make the card for my little cousin, Kate, who is in hospital having her tonsils out & is very angry at the Doctors for what they did to her.  All she wanted was her “Mummy” & poor ol’ “Pappy” was so upset that Kate didn’t want anything to do with him!!!!  Isn’t that always the way????

I used a lot of pretty colours which I thought a 4 year old would like, including colours that I have not used for so long.

Measurements –
Base Card – Whisper White – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 10.5cm – Scored in the middled & folded in half
Layer 1 – Pretty in Pink – 5 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ or 13.5cm x 9cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 3 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ or 9cm x 4cm
Layer 3 – Bashful Blue – 3 3/8″ x 1 3/8″ or 8.5cm x 3.5cm
Layer 4 – Whisper White – 3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ or 9.5cm x 4cm
Layer 5 – Certainly Celery – 3 5/8″ x 1 3/8″ or 9cm x 3.5cm

I run Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery pieces of Cardstock through the Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka DotsPretty in Pink was adhered to the Base Card – Whisper White, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery were both adhered to the corresponding pieces of Whisper White & adhered to Pretty in Pink using Multipurpose Glue.

I stamped the image with Staz-On onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock twice, allowed to dry, before colouring using my Stampin’ Up! Markers & Blender Pen.  I repeated again for the second image except colouring the skirt only, cut out & put aside.

I punched the image using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, adhered to a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock which had been punched with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch & adhered to the Base Card.

I adhered the second skirt to the top of the image with Stampin’ Dimensionals & added little dots to the scallops of the Scallop Punch with my White Gel Pen.  Since the photo was taken, I also added Dazzling Diamonds to the top of the sirt with 2-Way Glue Pen.  What little girl doesn’t love a bit of glitter?  What big girl doesn’t????

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Under the Big Top, So Happy for You
Ink – Staz-On, Certainly Celery

My Favourite….

Stamp Set & one of my favourite colour combinations have been combined to create this card which we made last week for at the Community Centre.  The ladies loved the colours!
Measurements –

Base Card – Rich Razzleberry – 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – Scored & folded in half
Layer 1 – Old Olive – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Rich Razzleberry – 3 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ or 9.5cm x 6.5cm
Layer 3 – Very Vanilla – 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ or 9cm x 6cm

I stamped my image onto the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Old Olive Ink.  I then proceeded to score lines across the piece of cardstock at 1/2″ intervals.

I then decided to try something a little different & experiment a bit, so I covered the whole piece with Versamark & poured Clear Embossing Powder over the top.

After tapping the excess off, I then heat set it with my Heat Tool.  To add a little bit more WOW, I then applied Dazzling Diamonds with my 2-Way Glue.  This piece was then adhered to the small piece of Rich Razzleberry.

I adhered a piece of Satin Ribbon just below the centre of Old Olive Cardstock & adhered to the base card – Rich Razzleberry.  I adhered the imaged to the top with SU Dimensionals.

Not wanting to stamp a greeting & deciding it needed a little more something, I tied a bow & adhered to the top of the card.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Lovely as a Tree
Ink – Versamark, Old Olive
Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon – 5/8″ Satin – Rich Razzleberry
Accessories – SU Dimensionals,  Snail Adhesive, Bone Scorer, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy,
Embossing Powder – Clear, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds
Until next time, Enjoy!

New Technique…

I did this card quiet sometime ago.  In fact, it was for Father’s Day – so I must apologise for not having any measurements.

I found this great Technique – Acetate & Tissue, over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Base Card – Garden Green Cardstock
Layer 1 – Very Vanilla
Layer 2 – DSP

Layer 3 – Tangerine Tango
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla
Using Snail Adhesive, I adhered the DSP to the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock & then to the Base Card – Garden Green.
I stamped the boat image direct onto the piece of Acetate using Black Staz-On Ink & set aside to dry.
I stamped the tree images onto the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Garden Green Ink.
With the piece of stamped Acetate, I applied Crystal Effects all over the back, ensuring the Effects were covering a large part of the Acetate.  Once this was done, using my Garden Green Re-Inker, I applied a couple of random drops onto the Crystal Effects & moved it around with my finger until I was happy with the look of the coverage.

At this stage, I added a little of Dazzling Diamonds to give it a little bit of a lift & some sparkle behind the Acetate when finished.

I then added a larger piece of tissue over the whole lot, turned the Acetate over so that the front was now facing me & placed it over the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock & pressed into place.  I trimed the piece to the size I wanted which in this case, was slightly smaller than the Tangerine Tango Piece I was adhering it to.

This whole piece was adhered over the top of the DSP & to the Base Card.

I stamped the greeting onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Tangerine Tango Ink, punched with Oval Punch & adhered to piece of Bashful Blue which had been punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.  I applied this to the card with SU Dimensionals.

The final result for this technique is really stunning & has so much potential.  I must make another card using this technique again.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Lovey as a Tree, Sali Away, Well Scripted
Ink – Garden Green, Staz-On Black
DSP – Woodland Walk
Punches – Scallop Oval, Large Oval
Accessories – SU Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Snail Adhesive,
Crystal Effects, Re-Inker – Garden Green
Non-SU – Tissue
Until next time, Enjoy!

Starting Out…

…as a gift card turning into a Christmas Card but with a small difference….

I had scraps of coloured cardstock sitting on my desk after completing a couple of other projects & instead of putting it all away, I thought I would attempt to make a small gift card.  Once I finished it & as I have to create a “Master Plan” for tomorrow’s class, I took it one step further & created a Christmas Card.

I used Retired DSP on this card, but it can be quickly turned into a completely different card using the DSP – Letters From Santa which is the current Xmas Paper or any DSP for that matter!

Base Card – Cherry Cobbler – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – DSP – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Cherry Cobler – 5″ x 3 5/8″ or 12.5cm x 9.5cm – Scored in half
Layer 3 – Old Olive – 4 7/8″ x 3 1/2″ or 12cm x 9cm
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 4 3/4″ x 3 3/8″ or 11.5cm x 8.5cm

Using my SU Marker – Chocolate Chip, I drew squiggley lines around the edge of the Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I stamped my 2 images using Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive Inks direct onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I drew 2 lines from the images to the border around the card using my SU Markers – Chocolate Chip
This piece was adhered to Olid Olive Cardstock & then to the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.  Using 2-Way Glue, I randomly applied this to the stamped images & applied Dazzling Diamonds – cannot be seen very well in the photo.  This was my original gift card.
I adhered a piece of Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon to the lower half of the DSP, tied a knot & then adhered to the Base Card – Cherry Cobbler.  The Gift Card was then adhered to the LHS of the Base Card – as per photo.
I stamped the sentiment using Chocolate Chip Ink onto Very Vanilla, punched using my Oval Punch & adhered to a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock which had been punched using the Scallop Oval Punch.  I adhered this to the Base Card.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Tree Trimmings, Short & Sweet
Ink – Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
DSP – Jolly Holiday – Retired
Punches – Scallop Oval, Large Oval
Ribbon – 5/8″ Grosgrain – Very Vanilla
Accessories – Tombow, Dazzling Diamonds, SU Markers, 2-Way Glue
Until next time, Enjoy!

SSC 216…

Another sketch, another card, except this time I have created a matching “something” to go with the card.  In fact, the matching “something” was created first & the card created to match the “something“.  Sorry folks, the “something” won’t be posted until tmw.
The card has been created from the sketch at Stamping 411  Such a great & very easy sketch.  Countless possibilities for this sketch.  Of course the best thing about the sketch from Stamping 411 – Measurements are provided –
Base Layer: 11 x 4 1/4″, scored and folded in half at 5 1/2″ – Pumpkin Pie

Layer 2: 5 x 3 3/4″  – Pear Pizzazz
Layer 3: 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″  – DSP
Layers 4 & 5: 1/2″ x 4 inch strip of paper – DSP
Layer 6:  Note, you can use ANY shape on this layer! – DSP
Inside Card

Inside Card –
As I had already cut a couple of different colours & shapes of flowers which I was going to use for the front of the card, I decided instead to use one for the inside.  I applied adhesive to the back of the flower, adhered to Whisper White Cardstock, then to a piece of Chocolate Chip before adhering to the Base Card.  I think it gives it a little bit of a different look.

Close up of Flowers

Card –
I cut my 3 strips using DSP & adhered them to Pear Pizzaz Cardstock as per the sketch.  Prior to this piece being run through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder Square Lattice, I stamped my sentiment direct onto the Pear Pizzazz using Pumpkin Pie Ink.  Again, with the Square Lattice.  Sorry folks, I can’t seem to get enough of this folder.  It just seems to finish your cards off & gives them that little extra omph!

Pear Pizzazz was ahered to a piece of Chocolatecar Chip & then to the Base Card – Pumpkin Pie.  I took the liberty & added an extra layer to my card.

For my shape, I cut 3 flowers from the DSP & adhered them to the card, using SU Dimensionals on the front 2, while adhering the background one direct to the card.  It sort of gave it a better look & more depth doing it this way.   Again, I strayed from the “master plan” a little in that I added 3 shapes, instead of the 1.

I applied a little glue to the middle of each flower with my glue pen & poured Dazzling Diamonds on top.  It immediately lifted the whole card.  Gotta love the Dazzling Diamonds.

Envelope –
I just cut a piece of DSP & adhered to the LHS side of the card.  Again, no stamps!

As I was taking the photo, I suddenly realised I hadn’t used any stamps on this card, except for the greeting.  Just goes to show that you don’t have a lot of products to create a really effective card!

Something else which crossed my mind – what a great way to use up the little bits of DSP that we can’t bare to toss out!

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Well Scripted
Ink – Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock – Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz
DSP – Greenhouse Gala
Embossing Folder – Square Lattice
Accessories – 2-Way Glue Stick, Snail Adhesive, Bigshot, SU Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds
Until tmw, when I will post the “something“.  Enjoy!

My card for the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411 was especially created for a lovely friend who has been in hospital.  I didn’t want to post this until Saturday when I knew for sure that she would have received the card, but the challenge closes in 1 1/2 days.  I created a card which hopefully would be bright, cherry & fun!  I hope I have succeeded.
Again, I’ve used 2 stamp sets which will be retiring at the end of the month.  You will probably see me use a lot more for the rest of the month, as I want to make the most of them before “R Day” – Retirement Day.
Creating challenges from Stamping 411 means one thing – MEASUREMENTS
To help get you started, here are some possible measurements you could use:

1.Layer One — 5.5 x 8.5″, scored and folded to make your Card Base

2.Layer Two — 4 x 5.25″
3.Layer Three — 3 x 3.75″ — punch one end with a Border Punch
4.Layer Four — 2.75 x 3.25″
5.Layer Five — 1.75 x 4″
6.Layer Six — 1.5 x 3.75″
Using my SU Markers, I inked my image with Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive.  I wanted to bring a touch of a second colour into the card, so I opted for a stamp which I could work that with.  I stamped the image direct onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhered to a slightly larger piece of Cardstock – Rich Razzleberry.
I stamped my image direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, stamping off at times.  This piece was run through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots.  I love, love, love this folder & can’t get enough of it.  My piece of Rich Razzleberry was punched along the bottom with the Eyelet Border Punch.  The Embossed Whisper White was adhered to this piece.
My biggest piece of Whisper White Cardstock was scored every 1/2″ down the card.  I adhered all layers to this piece as per the sketch & wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon around the lot.  I elected to stamp a butterfly image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, cut the image out, dusted some Dazzling Diamonds onto the butterfly using my 2-Way Glue Pen & applied 3 Basic Rhinestones down the middle.  This was then adhered to the ribbon using SU Dimensionals instead of a bow or knot.
The whole piece was adhered to the base card, Rich Razzleberry, with SU Dimensionals.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Great Friend, Eastern Blooms
Ink – Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock – Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon – 5/8″ Grosgrain – Rich Razzleberry
Punches – Eyelet Border
Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots
Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Dazzling Diamonds, SU Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen,
SU Markers, Basic Rhinestones
I hope you like this card Gwen & all the best for a very speedy recovery!
Until next time, Enjoy!

Friends Never Fade…

I’ve created the card for today using the sketch over at Utah Divas International  Very nice and easy one.  I had so many options going through my head for this sketch that I finally settled on “Friends Never Fade” stamp set along with the matching DSP – Greenhouse Gala.  Isn’t it great that SU® have stamp sets & DSP that match?  The hard work is really gone out of trying to think of what goes with what!

Stamp 2 flower images onto Whisper White Cardstock, one in Baja Breeze & the other using Chocolate Chip
Cut out & using 2-Way Glue, apply Dazzling Diamonds around the middle of the flowers
Adhere Chocolate Chip Flower to Baja Breeze Cardstock
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere Baja Breeze slightly over the top of Chocolate Chip flower
