TSSC183…

I can’t believe the roll I have been on – will it last?????
This card has been created for 2 challenges, the sketch over at Mary-Jo’s Blog which is a Blog Hop.  The other is from Handstamped Sentiments which is a theme – Summer.  I know it is hard to imagine summer here in Australia at the moment, but I did use paper & stamps from a past Mini, which I thought suited the challenge well.
Base Card – Old Olive – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm c 10.5cm
Layer 1 – DSP – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Tempting Turquoise – 4 1/2″ x 3″ or 11.5cm x 7.5cm
Layer 3 – Old Olive – 4 3/8″ x 2 7/8″ or 11cm x 7cm
Layer 4 – Tempting Turquoise – 3 3/8″ x 2″ or 9cm x 5cm
Layer 5 – Whisper White – 3 1/4″ x 1 7/8″ or 8.5cm x 4.5cm
I stamped images directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock, using Old Olive Ink & adhered to the piece of Tempting Turquoise.  I did stamp off a couple of times for some of the images.  For my sentiment, I used Early Expresso Ink.
I run the piece of Old Olive Cardstock through my Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Square Lattice.  It reminds me of  Bamboo & Thatching, so thought it very appropriate.  This was then adhered to Tempting Turquoise, to the DSP & then to the Base Card – Old Olive.
I stamped my flower onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Daffodil Delight Ink, cut it out & adhered using a SU Dimensional.  After stamping my inside, I then decided that the front looked a bit “Yuh” so I then stamped 2 smaller flowers using Tempting Turquoise Ink.  I adhered these using SU Dimensionals.  It bought the whole card alive.  Much happier.  I added 3 Rhinestones to the center of the flowers.

The Bay…

I have been trying to scrap photos each week – mostly to get my albums up to date & because I enjoy it so much.  Mind you, this helps using the great sketch Maria has on her blog each week.  This week is no exception as we have been provided with yet another sketch to use.
In my scrapbooking, I tend to try & focus on my photos, therefore leaving my pages somewhat clean & fresh.  This page is no exception.  I have concentrated on the ocean & the trees in the background, so I went with Tempting Turquoise & Old Olive Cardstock as my main
colours.  I teamed it with DSP – Island Oasis to tie all the colours together.  The photos I mounted onto Early Expresso Cardstock, as in the photo Amber is wearing a chocolate coloured t-shirt which you can just see.
I typed the journalling & stamped the palm tree image onto Whisper White Carstock, cut around it & adhered to the journalling.  This was then adhered to a piece of Early Expresso Cardstock.  I again stamped the flower image onto Whisper White Cardstock in Tempting Turquoise while the frond  was stamped using Old Olive.  Both were cut & adhered to the page.  The Pumpkin Pie flower was cut from the DSP & adhered to the page using SU Dimensionals.

Cheers to You…

G’Day Stampers,

I hope you all had a great Christmas, despite the floods in Qld & the snow in parts of USA & Europe.  To think that Perth has Bush Fires!

Today’s card is from the sketch over at Stamping 411 and as usual a great one to use in creating a card or project.

For my card, I used supplies from the current Summer Mini Catalogue.  I cut my Cardstock – So Saffron and adhered Regal Rose to the top of it.  I then cut a piece of DSP – Island Oasis – to adhere to the top of Regal Rose.

Using my Scallop Trim Punch, I punched both top & bottom of the Tempting Turquoise Cardstock and adhered a piece of So Saffron across the middle of it.

I then stamped the sentiment from “Cheers to You” in Chocolate Chip directly onto the So Saffron.  Inking the branch in Old Olive from the Stamp Set “Tropical Party”, I stamped a couple of random images directly onto the So Saffron.

I inked the coconut from the same Stamp Set, coloured the umbrella & straw using my Watercolour Pencils, cut around the image & adhered over the top of the branches using SU® Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Christmas Pressies…

I’ve been asked to make 12 Post-It Notes for small Christmas Gifts.  I wanted to keep them simple & not have too much on the front.  With being in your bag all the time, they tend to get knocked around a lot, so keeping them simple suited the purpose.
I’ve kept with the basic Post-It Notes Holder, as I don’t think you can beat a classic.  It is so easy to make.
Cut a piece of cardstock 6 3/4″ x 3 1/4″
Score at 3 1/2″ & 4″
Embellish as desire

In this case, I printed all the names on the pc.
How easy is that?

Tropical Summer…

I made this card a couple of weeks ago & suddenly realised I hadn’t posted it.

I’ve done a bit of a different fold for this card.  Still using your standard size card, I folded the top half of the card in half again.

I’ve used the “Island Oasis” DSP from the latest Mini-Catalogue & adhered DSP down the RHS, while ashering the opposite side of the DSP down the LHS.  All SU® DSP is double-sided, which means you receive twice as much DSP.

Using Whisper White on Rose Red Cardstock, I adhered it to the top half of the folded back section of the card.

I then stamped the images in Old Olive onto the Whisper White.  Using scraps of Whisper White, I stamped the flower in Rose Red, while the coconut was stamped in Chocolate Chip.  The umbrella was coloured in using my Watercolour Pencils.

I cut both the flower & coconut out & using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhered to the card.  I then stamped the greeting in Rose Red.
