June | Paper Funday Challenge | Dino-Saurus Paper Collection

G’Day Friends,

June is here which means a a brand new challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog!  Our sponsors for this month are Concord & 9th & Honey Bee Stamps.  The Twist is Polka Dots or Stripes.  I knew immediately the Dino-Saurus Paper Collection would be perfect!

The playful patterns, neutral colours and adorable dinosaurs made creating this birthday card so much fun.  I decided to lean into the whimsical feel of the collection and add lots of die cuts for extra dimension and texture.

My favourite detail has to be the dinosaur eggs… transformed into balloons!  With a little creativity,  those eggs became the perfect party decoration for this cheerful birthday design. It’s such a fun way to stretch your supplies and look at patterned elements in a completely different way.

The combination of stripes, polka dots and layered die cuts gives the card lots of movement while still keeping the design simple and playful.  Perfect for a child’s birthday — or anyone young at heart who loves dinosaurs!

This project is a great reminder that challenge themes don’t have to feel limiting.  Sometimes a simple prompt like dots and stripes can spark the most creative ideas.

Be sure to join us for this month’s challenge – we love seeing your creativity and celebrating your unique ideas.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

Polkadoodles Crafts | Digi Choosday | Pretty in Pink

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Once again, it’s time for Digi Choosday!  Be sure to click on the link to see what everyone has created.  This is gonna be a fun one!

There’s something so elegant about stepping away from traditional square cards and creating a design with softer, more delicate lines. For this birthday card, I chose an oval-shaped design to give it a unique and feminine feel, perfect for celebrating a special occasion.

The base of the card was created using nesting oval dies, then layered with a gorgeous pink striped patterned paper for a sweet and timeless look. The soft stripes add just the right amount of detail without overpowering the design, making the perfect backdrop for the image.

I coloured the image with Copic markers, blending warm pinks and soft florals to coordinate with the lovely soft pink paper.  Copics always bring images to life with their smooth shading and vibrant colour combinations and they worked perfectly for this soft, romantic palette.  I will say that I am a little out of practice with colouring, but “practice, practice, practice makes perfect!”

A few sparkling embellishments and a sentiment finished the card beautifully, making it suitable not only for birthdays but for many special occasions as well.  I love how the oval shape gives the project such an elegant look while still feeling playful and pretty.

Paper Rose Studio | Bees & Butterflies Cardmaking Kit | Easy Stencilled Cards

G’Day Crafty Friends,

The Bees & Butterflies Cardmaking Kit is perfect for creating easy and simple handmade cards filled with beautiful texture and thoughtful details.  Featuring embossed die cuts, coordinating cut aparts, card bases and heartfelt sentiments, this kit makes crafting both relaxing and inspiring.

Beautiful Layers Made Easy

One of the highlights of this kit is the embossed die cuts that add dimension and elegance without extra work.  Butterflies, Florals, Bees and delicate accents create layered cards that look detailed while still being beginner friendly.

Soft Stenciling for Extra Charm

Stenciling is an easy way to add soft background color and texture to your cards.  Blend light inks behind the die cuts to create a gentle, artistic look that pairs perfectly with the bees and butterflies theme.

Even simple stenciling can make handmade cards feel extra special.  I’ve created 3 cards with a basic stencilled background in lemon – matches perfectly with this Cardmaking Kit.

I will admit I am a very light blender but you could go as dark as you want.  Just remember to start off light & work to the depth of colour you are happy with.  You can always add more colour but you can’t take it away!

Perfect Sentiments for Thoughtful Cards

This cardmaking kit includes versatile sentiments that work for many occasions –  Thinking of You, Best Wishes & Get Well Soon.

These meaningful greetings make it easy to create cards that brighten someone’s day and let them know they are loved and remembered.

Easy Card Design | Words of Wisdom Collection | Paper Rose Studio

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Sometimes the simplest cards become the most meaningful — especially when they’re created from pieces you already have on hand.  Today’s card design is a wonderful reminder that even scrap paper can be transformed into something beautiful with a little creativity and the right finishing touches.

Using the gorgeous Words of Wisdom Collection along with the Embossed Die Cuts, this project is quick, easy and perfect for making the most of your leftover supplies.

A Simple Design with Big Impact

One of my favourite ways to use scrap paper is by combining coordinating patterns into clean, layered designs.  The papers in the Words of Wisdom collection work beautifully together, making it easy to mix patterns, textures and colours without overthinking the layout.

Final Thoughts

This easy card design proves that beautiful handmade cards don’t need complicated techniques or lots of supplies.  With a scrap from the Words of Wisdom Collection, Embossed Die Cuts, you can create something thoughtful, creative and uniquely yours.
