Sticks & Bones | Dinosaur 2 | Digi Choosday | Polkadoodles Crafts

G’Day Friends,

I’m happy to say it’s time for Digi Choosday over on the Polkadoodles blog.  Don’t forget to head on over to see all the lovely inspiration.

Our theme this week was to use Acetate or Vellum on our projects.  I was a little torn with this as I didn’t know which to go with.  So, I put both names in a hat & drew out the name lol.  Soloution solved!  BUT, then the real dilemma on what to do & how to use Acetate!

Today’s project is a cheerful birthday card featuring the adorable Sticks & Bones – Dinosaur 2 Digital Stamp!  Bright colours, along with the playful Sticks & Bones – Testured Dinosaur Papers 2 came together to create a card with plenty of personaliy that’s sure to bring a smile to any dinosaur lover.

To add something a little different, I created a tent fold card with the acetate as part of the fold.  The acetate highlights the paper used on the card giving the card an interactive element, making it extra special when the recipient opens it.

A simple birthday greeting from the Zodiac Collection – Birthday Sentiments & Greetings Digital Stamps and a few coordinating embellishments finish the design without taking away from the fun dinosaur theme.  The result is a bright, happy card that’s perfect for celebrating birthdays of all ages.

Paper Rose Studio | Seaside Memories Collection

2 Cuts – 3 Cards with the Seaside Memories Paper Collection by Paper Rose Stuido.

If you know me, I like to try & strech my papers a little further to create different looks with my papers.  It’s fun & very satisfying seeing just how much you can create from a few simple pieces.  Today I’m sharing three square cards made using the beautiful Seaside Memories Paper Collection – with just 3 pieces of paper AND two cuts of patterned paper!

The focus of these cards is all about letting the gorgeous seaside-inspired designs shine.  By keeping the layouts clean and balanced, the patterned papers become the stars while still leaving room for lovely embellishments.

To add texture and dimension, I incorporated coordinating Seaside Memories Embossed Die Cuts and Seaside Memories Tags & Tickets Embossed Die Cuts throughout each design.  The raised details catch the light beautifully and add an elegant finishing touch without overwhelming the patterned papers.

This project is a great reminder that you don’t need to use lots of supplies to create a coordinated set of cards.  With thoughtful paper placement and a few dimensional accents, you can make multiple cards from just a couple of paper cuts while showcasing the beauty of the collection.

Daisy Daze Paper Collection | The Scrap Room

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I have another card, well 2 actually, to share with you today.  Once again, I’ve created these cards with the lovely Daisy Daze Paper Collection Pack for The Scrap Room Design Team.

The Daisy Daze collection by Bee Arty is a beautiful coordinated scrapbooking and mixed media range inspired by vintage botanicals, wildflower meadows and honeycomb textures.

Now, you know how I love to chop my papers in different ways….. so on these 2 cards, the papers have been cut the same but I’ve adhered them to layers in different directions.  Very simple & easy but sometimes, simple & easy is all we need to let the papers be the star of the show!

Again, I’ve distressed the edges of the papers before lightly sponging them with Antique Linen Distress Ink & a Sponge Dauber.  Once adhered to the coloured Cardstock layers, they were then adhered to White Base Cards.  To complete the cards, simple sentiments were added, followed by a little bling!

I love how cutting the papers the same way but adhering them in different directions changes the look of the cards.

Shopping Rebel | Polkadoodles Crafts | Digi Choosday

G’Day Crafty Friends,

It’s Digi Choosday time!

Today I’m sharing a simple & easy card featuring the ever so cute shopping Rebel Girl Digi Stamp.

Shopping Rebel is all set for summer, dressed in her hot pink dress, carrying her lime bag & sporting her oh so vibrant orange hair.  Don’t you think she looks like she is having such a fabulous day out & about doing a little retail therapy!

To compliment the image, I teamed it up with the  Rebel Pretty Printable Paper Patterns – Bundle 1, which coordinates perfectly with the bright, fun summer colours.  The  sentiment is from the Rebel Messages with Attitude set.  I love these sentiments as they add the perfect finishing touch with a little sass!

To complete the card, I added some soft ink blending to the background, coloured the image with Copics prior to fussy cutting it and incorporating a little scoring for extra detail and dimension.  Sometimes these simple techniques really let the adorable image and colourful papers shine.

Today I’m sharing a soft and elegant Get Well Soon card featuring the beautiful brand new Summer Feeling Collection by Maja Design.  New to me anyhow!  This brand-new paper collection is filled with gorgeous florals, delicate patterns and fresh summer colours that are perfect for creating heartfelt handmade cards.  There is a sheet of fussy cut image that are to die for & believe me, I can’t wait to get into this collection.

The beautiful floral papers make it easy to create a cheerful design that’s sure to brighten someone’s day.  Layering the coordinating papers adds lovely dimension while keeping the card soft and feminine.
