Lapbook Folio | Silent Night Paper Collection | The Scrap Room

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Today I’m sharing a new Lapbook Folio that I created using the gorgeous Silent Night Collection by 3Quarter Designs as part of my Design Team project for The Scrap Room.  I just love how this one came together!

There are lots and lots of spaces for photos, with room for all different sizes throughout the folio.  There are flips, pockets, waterfalls and interactive pages, so there’s plenty to discover as you work your way through it.  In saying that I did add a little extra & took a few things away that the tutorial had.

Best part about this folio is everything is cut & scored for you PLUS you get step by step instructions along with photos for each step.  This makes it so very easy to create.  The hardest part is deciding on what papers to use.

The beautiful Silent Night Collection were such a pleasure to work with and were perfect for giving this folio that lovely Christmas feel.  Mind you, the papers are so totally gorgeous that I didn’t really want to chop into them but chop them I did!

Make sure you check out the video to see how it all works and to get a closer look at all the little details and hidden photo spaces.

Please excuse the voice quality in the video!  I think my poor phone might be on its way out, so the sound is a little dodgy.   Hopefully you can still follow along and enjoy having a look through the folio.

Paper Rose Studio | School Days Paper Collection | Mini Album

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I have a mini 4 x 6 album to share with you today, created with the School Days 6 x 6 Paper Collection by Paper Rose Studio.  I will admit I had so much fun creating this album that I had to stop at 10 pages or I wouldn’t have space for photos.

There’s something so much fun about creating a mini album!  This 4″ x 6″ album may be small in size, but there’s plenty of room to add photos, memories and lots of gorgeous little details.

For this project, I wanted to create an album that was not only pretty to look at, but also fun and interactive to flip through.  Throughout the album you’ll find a mixture of interactive pages, a waterfall page, pockets and album sleeves, giving you lots of different places to add photos, journaling and special keepsakes.

One of my favourite things about mini albums is discovering something different as you turn each page.

I’ve adhered some of my die cuts inside the album sleeves and others directly onto the outside of the sleeves.  By mixing the placement, you create extra layers and dimension while still keeping the album nice and easy to flip through.

You can also tuck die cuts behind photos, have little embellishments peeking out of pockets, or allow pieces to overlap the edge of a sleeve for a more playful look.

Don’t feel that every page needs to follow the same design.  Part of the charm of a mini album is having lots of little surprises along the way.

Mix up your page layouts, add a hidden pocket here and there, create a fun flip-out or leave a little space for handwritten journaling.

I think this size album is such a lovely size for documenting a holiday, special celebration, family memories, a collection of favourite photos – or simply those everyday moments you don’t want to forget.

The best part is making it your own.  Play with your layers, experiment with your embellishments and add plenty of interactive details.

Most importantly, have fun creating your mini album and filling it with memories you’ll love looking back on!
