Quick & Easy Christmas Card | Anything Goes Saturday | Home for Christmas Collection

G’Day Friends,

Today I’m sharing a quick and easy Christmas card made with the Home for Christmas Kit Collection by Uniquely Creative — a dreamy mix of butterflies, flowers and Christmas pattern paper.  This Collection is perfect for creating soft, elegant Christmas cards with a touch of nature’s beauty.

It is also my project I shared for our Anything Goes Saturday.  You are able to see Robbie’s project HERE.

What You’ll Need

  • Home for Christmas Kit Collection (pattern papers + creative cuts)

  • Linen thread

  • Christmas sentiment (stamp, sticker or creative cut)

  • Adhesive foam dots

  • A hint of sparkle (rhinestones or metallic thread)

Quick & Easy Steps

  1. Layer your pattern paper onto coordinating cardstock & then to the base card

  2. Add creative cuts. Arrange a butterfly in top left corner & a floral cluster in bottom right corner for a soft, dimensional look.

  3. Finish with a sentiment – Add a “Merry Christmas” banner or tag across the centre.

  4. Optional sparkle – A few gems or a touch of glitter add instant Christmas charm!

And just like that, you have a beautiful handmade card — simple, festive and perfect for gifting or mailing.

Crafting Tip

Stick to a coordinated colour palette from your kit to make designing fast and stress-free.   The Home for Christmas Kit does all the matching for you!

If you’re a visual crafter,  you’ll love this part!  I have a step-by-step video tutorial showing exactly how I layered the patterned paper, added the butterflies and flowers and finished the card with a festive sentiment.  You can watch it here by clicking on the graphic below and craft along with me!  Don’t forget to use what you have in your stash!

Easy Spotlighting with an Embossing Folder | Handmade Birthday Card

Handmade birthday cards are always a special way to show someone you care.  Today, I’m sharing a simple but striking technique called spotlighting – and the best part is, we’re using an embossing folder to make it even easier!

Be sure to check out what Robbie has created.

With just a few supplies, you’ll be able to highlight part of your embossed design while keeping the rest subtle.  This contrast creates a wow factor without requiring lots of complicated steps.  Plus, you can switch out the colours and embossing folder to make this card perfect for any occasion.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Embossing Folder of your choice – Altenew Flutter & Bloom 3D
  • Cardstock (for base + embossed layer) – Paper Rose Studio White Smooth, Charcoal Black Smooth
  • Ink pads, markers or blending brushes – Altenew Volcano Lake, Warm Sunshine, Turquoise
  • Die-cutting/embossing machine
  • Adhesive
  • Sentiment stamp or die (e.g., “Happy Birthday”) – Paper Rose Studio Super Day
  • Embellishments (optional)

Design Variations

Try a different embossing folder for a whole new look.
Switch up your colour palette – bright and bold for a fun birthday or soft pastels for something elegant.
Use the same technique for other occasions: thank you cards, anniversaries or even holiday cards.Video Tutorial Available:
