Easy Male Card | Field Notes Cardmaking Kit

G’Day Friends,

I’m back with yet another project for our Anything Goes Saturday featuring the Field Notes Cardmaking Kit by Uniquely Creative.  You will also notice that I changed it around a little compared to the video.  I am liking the change much better.

You can see Robbie’s project HERE.

When it comes to cardmaking, masculine designs can sometimes feel tricky – but they don’t have to be!  Today I’m sharing an easy male card featuring a fun card cluster design.

Why I Love This Design

I wanted a project that was quick to put together but still had a strong focal point.  The cluster was perfect – it’s simple, classic and works for so many occasions.  By layering a small card cluster with die cuts and patterned pieces from the Field Notes kit, I was able to give the design some dimension without making it feel too busy.

How to Make It

  1. Choose your base – I started with a neutral cardstock, great for masculine cards – Misty Moonlight or a Navy or Green

  2. Add background layers – A subtle patterned paper from the kit adds texture – Vanilla Cardstock with Pattern Paper layered on top

  3. Build your cluster – I combined the bike creative cut with a few tags and small embellishments to create a layered cluster – love creating clusters with Creative Cuts & Die Cuts

  4. Finish with a sentiment – A simple “Happy Birthday” or “Thinking of You” works perfectly – Mini Cut-a-Parts that come with the kits are perfect for this

Tips for Masculine Cards

  • Stick to neutral or earthy tones.

  • Use geometric shapes or everyday icons (like bikes, tools or maps).

  • Keep embellishments simple but layered for interest.

Why the Field Notes Kit Works So Well

The Field Notes Cardmaking Kit has a great mix of images, patterns and creative cuts that lean naturally toward a masculine style.  It makes pulling together a card like this fast and fun.

Whether you need a birthday card, Father’s Day card or just a “hello”, this design is versatile, easy and sure to be appreciated.

If you’d like to see the process in action, be sure to watch the video where I show exactly how this card came together.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

Anything Goes Saturday | Birthday Card | Nature-Inspired

G’Day Friends,

I’m back after taking August off for a little recharging of the batteries.  Sometimes, we just have to have a little downtime for ourselves.

Anyhow, I’m starting off with this month’s Anything Goes Saturday with an easy birthday card created with the fantastic Field Notes Card Making Kit by Uniquely Creative.

Be sure to click HERE to see what Robbie has created.

There’s something magical about creating a birthday card with a nature-inspired theme.  You can nearly smell the eucalyptus trees, feel the glow of the campfire, see the tents tucked between the gums and a sky scattered with stars — it’s nature’s party venue.

The beauty of easy card making is that it doesn’t need to be fancy.  A folded card, a hand-drawn starry sky or a leaf taped inside as a keepsake — that’s all it takes.

Sometimes, the best birthday cards are simple!

Supplies

  • Field Notes Card Making Kit – Uniquely Creative
  • Basic white Smooth Cardstock – Paper Rose Studio
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock – Stampin’ Up!
  • Birthday Wishes Stamp & Dies – Gina K Designs

The best part about this card?  Anyone can create it.  Your card doesn’t have to be perfect.  It just needs to be created for that someone special & they will love it!

Anything Goes Saturday | Cards by Design with Soft Blues & Pinks

Happy Anything Goes Saturday, crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a sweet and simple sketch layout that’s perfect for any theme or photo. The best part? It uses the gorgeous Elodie 6 x 6 Paper Pad by Mintay.  This Collection is full of soft blues and pinks with touches of greys — perfect for a calming, gentle look that works beautifully for baby pages, spring themes, or simply capturing tender memories.

To see what Robbie has created, click HERE.

Why I Love This Layout

Sometimes you just need a layout that’s easy to put together without sacrificing style.  That’s where this sketch comes in.  It offers structure and balance, while still letting your creativity shine.  Sketches take the guesswork out of where to place things – which is especially helpful when you’re short on time or just want to get create without overthinking it.

The Details

For this layout, I used a mix of soft blue and blush pink patterned papers, layered to create a subtle, dreamy vibe.  I kept the embellishing minimal – some die-cuts, soft florals and soft subtle embellishemt — to let the papers shine.

Here’s what I used –

  • Elodie 6 x 6 Paper Pad – Mintay Papers
  • Elodie Die Cuts – Mintay Papers
  • Basic White Smooth Cardstock for the base – Paper Rose Studio
  • Coloured Cardstock for layering – My Stash
  • Clear Crystal Sequins – Paper Rose Studiio
  • All Occasions Sentiments – Paper Rose Studio

Quick Tips –

  • Stick to one or two main colours, eg soft blue/pink for a cohesive feel.

  • Use a sketch as a guide, but don’t be afraid to change it up!

  • Layer your papers with a little bit of distressing or dimension to keep it interesting.

  • Let the papers be the star – keep embellishments clustered and intentional.

Final Thoughts

I love how gentle and pretty this layout turned out – perfect for “Anything Goes Saturday” where you can just create freely with what you love.  If you’ve got a stash of pretty pastel papers, I highly recommend giving a sketch layout a try.  It’s quick, it’s fun and oh-so-satisfying to see it come together.
