Pretty Pattern Papers – September

A huge thank you once again, to everyone who has been supporting us throughout our adventure/s.  It is very much appreciated.

Each month we release a set of 3 cards using DSP (Designer Series Paper), along with a septemberSketch, Supplies, Measurements & Instructions.  It is a way to get you to use up that lovely stash of Paper you have sitting in your cupboard.  The sketches are able to be used over & over so that you are creating entirely different looks.

This month we are playing with the lovely DSP Stack – Playful Palette.  I will admit although I love the papers I was finding them very hard to use.  Now that I have cut into it, ideas are flowing!

Throughout the month, I will be creating more cards using this lovely paper, so be sure to pop back to check them out.

We hope you will join us this month.  To purchase your Tutorial, please click on the Pretty Pattern Papers Page.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

I love Techniques.  I love doing Techniques!  I love playing & creating different effects from Techniques!  Yep, I love my Techniques!

My card today is one I created using one of the Techniques from the “Technique Treats” from last month – Shaving March-TTCream.  If you are not sure what this is all about, be sure to head on over to our page by clicking on “Technique Treats“.  We’ve had a lot of positive feedback about these Treats & the ladies seem to love them!

I created my card from a piece of Card (with the Shaving Cream Technique already done) which has been sitting on my desk for about a month.  I was determined to use it.

134. Daughter – Butterfly Basics

It’s Your Day

I thought I would share with you a sneak peak at one of the lovely new sets you are able to earn free from Sale-a-Bration 5 January – 21 March 2016 when you spend $AUD90.00 (excluding P&H).

My card started out as a case, but sort of took its own course which is fine with me.  You can find this happening from time to time which is a good thing.

I’ve made about 6 of these as they will be a start to my Birthday Cards for the next couple of months.  I always start the year off with right intentions & then sort of get waylaid.  It is my goal to be on top of things & ready for the new year.

Don’t forget to click on the link above the photo to download your tutorial to create your own card.

Be sure to check back in over the next couple of days for more sneak peaks.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

102. It’s Your day – Sunburst Sayings

Thank You

My card today is another quick Thank You for a friend.

I’ve stamped the flower image from Hostess Set – Best Thoughts onto a piece of Watercolour Paper in VersaMark, embossed with White Embossing Powder, coloured with my Aqua Painter using Rich Razzleberry & Wild Wasabi Inks

I stamped the image from Butterfly Basics twice onto scraps of Whisper White in Memento Black Ink, adhered to a piece of Whisper White Card top & bottom & then layered onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry Card before adhering to top of Base Card – Whisper White.  I fussy cut the flower, stem & leaf images & adhered to the top of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (flower) & Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue (leaves & stem).

The Butterfly was stamped onto Watercolour Paper in VersaMark, heat set with White Embossing Powder prior to fussy cutting & adhering to top of flower with Stampin’ Dimensional under wing.  I wanted it too look like it was “coming in to land“.

I cut the “Thanks” from a piece of Pumpkin Pie Card using the Greetings Thinlits by running through the Big Shot & adhering to card.

The “So Much” comes from “Crazy About You” & is stamped direct onto the Base Card in Memento Black.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Sending Many Thanks

Our card today is the 2nd card from our Technique Class a couple of Sundays ago.  You can view the 1st card below.048blog

Again, we used the “Irresistibly Yours” DSP from SALE-A-BRATION!  I love, love, love this paper.

Remember you only have 2 days to go to grab some for yourself as it ends 31 March & will no longer be available.  All you have to do is purchase $AUD90. worth of products before P&H.

As our class was spilt into 2 lots of tables, the class were working on 2 different cards at the same time.  The ladies seem to enjoy working this way as there is less waiting on items & things tend to run a little smoothly.

We used the gorgeous “Butterfly Basics” Bundle which includes the “Butterfly Basic” Stamp Set & the matching Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  These items are from the Occasions Catalogue.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

It’s Been Case’d

Yep, today’s card has actually been case’d (Copied & Shared Everything) from the magazine we, as demos, receive bi-monthly.027-blog-inside

The project I actually copied was a bag that had been stamped, which immediately jumped out at me when I opened the magazine.  I knew straight away that I wanted to recreate it, but with my own spin, so I sat down last week & quickly come up with this card.  As I’ve said, I did change it a little, but stuck mostly to the colours which were used on the bag.

Again, the colours are out of my comfort zone, but I am more than happy with the final result!  The colours of Hello Honey & Baked brown Sugar are one that I would not normally go for, but I toned it down & softened it a little by using Very Vanilla.  I am loving the pop of Strawberry Slush Butterfly.  What do you think?  Do you like it?

52. Butterfly Basics – Birthday

Card #2

My card today is one created for our challenge for the month of March.

I’m not sure if you are aware, but I’ve started giving a challenge to all my customers & classes each month to get their creative3 March 2015 juices flowing.  I think it is a great way to “think outside the box”.  Not all the ladies have Stampin’ Up! supplies which doesn’t bother me in the least, as long as they are happy enough to sit & create with what they have.

For my 2nd card I decided to use the Free DSP “Irresistibly Yours” from the current SAB Catalogue.  This paper is to die for!  The biggest decision when using this paper is trying to decide what design & colour/r you are going to use.

022-wm-blogI decided to step outside my comfort zone & go with colours from left field for me – Coastal Cabana & Blackberry Bliss.  I wasn’t too sure where I was going with the card or where it would lead me, but I am more than happy with the final result.  I must admit I love these colours together.

If you check out my last card, you will agree that it is totally different & no comparison in any way, but hey that is what challenges are all about.

I actually embossed my Butterflies with Clear Embossing Powder.  I don’t know why, but I love my cut out Butterfly embossed, it just seems to pop when I do it!

Until next time, Happy Stampin!

50. Butterfly Basics – With Deepest Sympathy

CASE-ing the Catty Challenges

I found a new challenge site (for me anyhow) the other day & decided to play along.  It’s called “CASE-ing the Catty Challenges“.  I’m always using the Catalogues for inspiration & thought this would be the perfect time to try & use the “Best 004aa-blogYear EVER Accessory Pack” which is from the current SAB 2015.

“Today the challenge is all about using New Buttons and Ribbon on your project.   We are focussing our attention on the SALE-A-BRATION Catalogue and using the Best Ever Accessory Pack’s ribbon and buttons from page 4.  If you haven’t scored yourself a free pack yet, you can use other SU buttons and ribbons that are new to you.  CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole challenge blog is about using the current Stampin’ Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catties are certainly a demonstrator or customer’s best resource”

To begin with I sat down & scribbled a rough sketch onto a piece of scrap paper – this is usually the piece I stamp, practice on & create my card on.  Once I have finished my card, it then goes in the bin.

003a-blogI grabbed my “Accessory Pack“, along with the matching “DSP – Best Year Ever” & started to work.  Looking at my card, I’ve just realised it is not the DSP side I started out playing with, but it all comes together, I think!

I decided to toss in a bit of Soft Sky & ended up using it for the Base Card.  Surprise, surprise, it didn’t clash with the Coastal Cabana.

For my Butterfly, I cut it out using the Butterfly Thinlits from Crushed Curry, run it through the Big Shot, dabbed Versamark over the Butterfly, poured Clear Embossing Powder over it & heat set with a Heat Tool.  It made it a little bit of  “WOW”.

I then started to add Rhinestones to the centre, but as the Buttons were sitting in front of me, I played around until I found a way to use them, so I created Antennae for the Butterfly by threading Baker’s Twine through the Ribbon & adhering to the Butterfly with a Glue Dot.

Thank you ladies for a great challenge & hopefully I will be playing along more often.

42. Sending Wishes Your Way – SAB 2015

FMS 174

G’day Stampers,

It is a very rainy & very wet day here today.  My thoughts are with friends & family up north in the brunt of “Marcia, Marcia, FMS Final 174-001Marcia” as she bears down on the coast as well as friends in Darwin who are dealing with “Lam”.  Stay safe everyone!

I don’t usually craft on rainy days, but saw the great challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches & thought I would give it a go.  Not knowing where I was going with this, I decided on the colours that I wanted to use & then just sort of went along with the flow.  I’m really happy with the final result, although not sure about the small section of the Sahara Sand Starburst showing at the bottom of the circle, but no doubt it will grow on me.

004blogFor the inside of my card, I decided to use a small piece of the DSP – Best Year Ever, again add a small strip of Calypso Coral Card to one side & adhere it to a piece of Whisper White Card at a slight angle.

I played around  bit with the card front, heat embossing direct onto the DSP with Versamark & Sahara Sand Inks prior to adhering to the Card Front plus layering a small piece of the gorgeous Lace Trim.  I wanted the embossing to be very subtle & not take away from the focal point of the card.  I also played around with stamping under & on the circle which gives it a little bit of a different look.  I finished it off with scattered Rhinestones.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

41. Happy Anniversary – Painted Petals

Today’s card is a special one for my customers this month.  I like to create a couple of different designs each month to post out to customers.  Mind you, in saying that, I do start out to create 6 or so of the same type of card but they never seem to end up that way.  I usually end up with about 3 or 4 different designs, but mostly using the same products.

I stamped the “Honeycomb” image from the “Butterfly Basics” Stamp set direct onto Very Vanilla CS in Crumb Cake Ink.  I inked the Spring Flowers EF with Blushing Bride Ink prior to running through the Big Shot & layering to a piece of Chocolate Chip CS & finally to the Base Card – Very Vanilla.

I cut the “Thanks” from “Hello YouThinlits Dies in Crumb Cake CS prior to adhering to the top of the card.  The Butterfly is from “Basic Butterflies” Stamp set & has been stamped onto Very Vanilla CS with Pear Pizzazz Ink, punched with coordinating Bitty Butterfly Punch & adhered to Card prior to finishing off with Pearls in the centre.

A very quick & easy card, but one I think has a bit of a “WOW” about it.  I hope Kathy & Rosemary like their cards.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
