I am sharing a card today that was created for one of our Technique Treats #8 – “Faux Linen” – 2 ways where we used the lovely stamp set “A Day at the Beach” which is from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue.
I’ve done lots of sponging – moon, waves & sand. The dolphin, thongs & ball have been coloured with Inks & Blender Pen. I’ve adhered them to the Card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ve used the Faux Linen Technique on the Basic Black Background.
There is so much potential with the lovely little stamp set.
If you want to create more cards using this great technique, be sure to head on over to the “Technique Treats” Page.
Don’t forget, tomorrow is the release of our November Treats.
I created my card about 2 months ago when I first saw the fantastic “A Day at the Beach” Stamp Set in the 2016 Holiday Catalogue. It has images of a By Jingo (Icy Pole, Paddle Pop, etc), Thongs, Hat, Sunnies, etc all of which I think are very Beachy & Aussie! I have so many ideas that I can’t seem to get them down on card quick enough.
Today’s card is one that sort of popped into my head immediately on seeing the Stamps. It is a “Shaker Card” but with some of the stamps from the set – Sun, Thongs & By Jingo Images & represents our summers here in OZ.
I punched 3 circles into a piece of Whisper White Card with the 1″ Circle Punch before adhering a piece of Window Sheet behind each circle.
To create my Shakers I applied the great new Foam Adhesive Strips around each circle & filled them up with lots of bling, eg Sequin Trim, Sequins & even sand from the beach.
This piece was then adhered to a piece of Daffodil Delight Card & then to the Base Card – Whisper White.
I stamped “Happy Birthday” from “Crazy About You” Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry Ink direct onto Whisper White, layered it onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry before adhering across a section of the Card Front.
For the images I used my Blender Pen, Shimmer White Card & Memento Tuxedo Ink. The Sun – Daffodil Delight Ink, Thongs – Flirty Flamingo & Rich Razzleberry Inks & the By Jingo – Daffodil Delight & Rich Razleberry Inks. Each image was fussy cut & adhered to the circles.
To complete the card I popped a couple of small Rhinestones to each of my Thongs as well as the Card Front.
I will admit it is a little different but I’m happy with it! I would like to know what you think about it too!
I was playing around the other day & decided to have a play with Washi Tape & try & use it in an entirely different way. Mind you, I am still working on that project.
While playing, I had a light bulb moment! Why not try & use it with the Brick Wall EF? Out came the “Cherry on Top” Washi Tape (Retired) & off I went playing & cutting.
As I wanted the Washi Tape to be the star, I kept the remainder of the card very clean & simple. Don’t forget, you could even use scraps of DSP, Ribbon or even Cardstock. You will also need a little bit of patience, but I think it is worth it in the end.

About 2 weeks ago I was asked to create a couple of 18th Birthday Cards for a few people. Funny how they all came at once.
Today is the one I posted to the lovely Karen. It was a special card for one of her models who loves everything girly. So I set about trying to think of something a little different & trying not to use Pinks.
I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip Card into the shape of a bag & set about decorating it. A piece of Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon (retired) was adhered to the front to look like a handle. Parisian Breeze DSP (retired) was cut into the same shape as the “Bag” & adhered to the Chocolate Chip Card. I cut another of the same DSP into the shape of the “Flap” & layered it over the top.
The “18” was cut a number of times from scrap Whisper White Card using the “Little Numbers” Framelits (retired) & layered together. I then cut another set of “18” from MarinaMist Card & layered on top. A piece of scrap Whisper White was cut from the Layered Circles Framelits & adhered to a scallop circle of Chocolate Chip, “Flap” with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I tied a small bow from the same Ribbon & adhered it to one side of the “Ribbon Handle” with a Mini Glue Dot. I repeated the same for the “E” using the “Little Letters” Framelits, except this time I adhered it to a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine before tying around the Ribbon.
To add a bit of bling, I decided to adhered small Rhinestones to the top of the “18” as well as the “E“. The bag instantly come “alive”!
The “Happy Birthday” from “Crazy about You” StampSet was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White Card in Chocolate Chip Ink, adhered to a piece of Chocolate Chip Card, cut into a Banner Shape one end & adhered to the Card Front.
Don’t forget, you could create the same card using current supplies.
I sure hope you are enjoying your tutorials & using up a lot of your DSP. I know I am & it has given me a new lease of life creating with my DSP.
This month we are playing with the “Go Wild” Paper Stack. This stack retired at the beginning of the month but you can still play with the papers you have in your stash or any of the new DSP you may have purchased from the new Catalogue.
Don’t forget, along with the sketch, we have tutorials for 4 greeting cards, a list of Measurements (Metric & Imperial) plus a list of Supplies we have used for our cards.
When is a Shaker Card not a Shaker Card? When it’s one I created & forgot to add my glitter & bling!!!!! It wasn’t until I got it together that I realised I had forgotten to add all my shaker bits.
I’ve used the FREE “Widlflower Fields” DSP which is available through SAB. The Scalloped Edge has been created using the Scallop Edge Framelit (Retired). The window was created using the Word Bubbles Framelits (Retired). Any of which can easily be substituted for different Framelits, Dies or Punches & Ribbon.

I thought today we would have a bit of a break from the Christmas Cards & go with a Thank You Card that I posted out to some of my customers last month. I found a card very similar here & went with it.
Short & sweet today, but don’t forget to click on the Title above the card you will be able to download a tutorial to create your own card.
Our card today is the 2nd one we did in our class last month. Again, it is a very CAS – Clean & Simple Card, but one I am happy with.
I stamped the Globe Image onto a scrap of Very vanilla CS in Memento Black prior to punching out with Extra-Large Oval Punch. I also punched a piece of Basic Black CS with the same Punch & adhered to the stamped piece but just showing a small amount of Black down 1 side.
A piece of Crumb Cake DSP from the Neutrals Stack was layered onto a piece of Basic Black CS before a strip of Basic Black CS was adhered across the middle. The punched Ovals were adhered to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped “Happy Birthday” from “Crazy About You” onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS, cut down to size, cut into a Banner Shape one end & adhered to the strip of Basic Black, tucking the end under the punched Ovals.
This piece was then adhered to the Base Card – Crumb Cake.
To finish the card, I adhered 3 Basic Back Candy Dots to the bottom right corner.
In one of my classes last month we created a couple of cards for Dad or for the male in your family. They were very simple cards, but they were meant to be this way. I think with male cards we tend to try & overthink them. It is best we keep them CAS – Clean & Simple.
I stamped the engine image from “Traveler” Stamp Set onto a piece of Very Vanilla CS using Memento Black Ink. The image from “Gorgeous Grunge” was stamped either side of the engine in Crumb Cake Ink.
“Happy Father’s Day” is from “Crazy About You” Stamp Set & is stamped direct onto the same card in Memento Black Ink.
I adhered a piece of Basic Black from the Neutrals DSP to the bottom of the card before layering onto a piece of Basic Black CS & then to the Base Card – Crumb Cake.
3 Basic Black Candy Dots were adhered to the bottom left hand corner of the card.
My card today is another quick Thank You for a friend.
I’ve stamped the flower image from Hostess Set – Best Thoughts onto a piece of Watercolour Paper in VersaMark, embossed with White Embossing Powder, coloured with my Aqua Painter using Rich Razzleberry & Wild Wasabi Inks
I stamped the image from Butterfly Basics twice onto scraps of Whisper White in Memento Black Ink, adhered to a piece of Whisper White Card top & bottom & then layered onto a piece of Rich RazzleberryCard before adhering to top of Base Card – Whisper White. I fussy cut the flower, stem & leaf images & adhered to the top of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (flower) & Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue (leaves & stem).
The Butterfly was stamped onto Watercolour Paper in VersaMark, heat set with White Embossing Powder prior to fussy cutting & adhering to top of flower with Stampin’ Dimensional under wing. I wanted it too look like it was “coming in to land“.
I cut the “Thanks” from a piece of Pumpkin Pie Card using the Greetings Thinlits by running through the Big Shot & adhering to card.
The “So Much” comes from “Crazy About You” & is stamped direct onto the Base Card in Memento Black.
