Feather Together…

…meets Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste.

Yes, you have read correctly, Stampin’ Up! now have the lovely & fun Embossing Paste.  I, 20170613_111258blog-insiefor 1, have been waiting a long time for this to happen.  Thank you so much Stampin’ Up!

Today’s card is one that we did at our Training Weekend.  We got to play with the Paste & also the gorgeous “Feather Together” Stamp Set.  Our card is straight from Page 176.  I will be honest & say I forgot to order the Decorative Masks, so had to go along with one that has retired, but it still gave us the result we were after.  You could also create your own Mask by using a Framelit or Thinlit.

We placed a small amount of Embossing Paste onto a plastic sleeve, added a couple of drops of the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Refill & mixed it with a Palette Knife.  You can add as much as you like to the Paste to give you more depth or go as light as you like for just a small tint.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Thank You

G’day Stampers,

I’m not sure if you have noticed that there are new “Decorative Masks” in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue so I’m doing a bit of a happy dance at the moment as I love them!

I decided to create a couple of “Thank You” Cards using these Masks.  As I’m not one for creating multiples of the same card, I used each of the Masks (set of 4) to create my Cards, but they are generally the same layout.

For those of us who are Demos, you may or may not recognize the layout of today’s card – 20160915_084322_resizedblogit is a case from Page 11 of the latest “Stampin’ Success” Magazine.

To give it a bit more of a “WOW”, I’ve flicked a little bit of the Gold Wink of Stella over the sponging

A small tip for you when using Masks, be sure to tape your Mask down over your Card or they will slip & slide all over the place.  Retired Washi Tape is just perfect for this!

Don’t forget, you can click on the link above the photo to download your Free Tutorial.

Tomorrow sees the release of our new Technique Treats, so be sure to pop on back to check them out!

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Birthday Wishes

Crikey, I didn’t realise that I hadn’t shared so many cards with you.

Today’s card is another I did in a Technique Class at my home way back in February.  The ladies wanted to do a little Sponging & to learn how to use the Decorative Masks – we all have them sitting in the back of our cupboards just waiting to see the light of day again!

I’ve actually used one of the Happy Patterns Decorative Masks & matched it up with the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder.

Don’t forget both the Embossing Folder & Decorative Mask are on the “Retirement List” so best to grab them now.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

I saw a card on Pinterest some time ago which stuck in my head for some reason.  I’m not sure if it was the colours, the layout or the technique.  So my card today is from that card with my own spin on it.  Thank you so much for your inspiration!

As you have probably gathered I am a big fan of the Decorative Masks.  I love how you many different looks you can achieve using them, the many techniques you can use with them & of course all the backgrounds you are able to create.

My card has actually been created for the challenge over at CYCI where we could pick 3 colours to create our project.  Thank you once again Team for a great challenge.

The colours I used for the challenge – Old Olive & Daffodil Delight InksBasic Black Card with Whisper White as my Neutral.

Decorative Masks…

…make gorgeous backgrounds for your cards.

You have probably noticed of late that I am sort of addicted to SU’s Decorative Masks.  I just004ewm-blog can’t seem to get enough of them.  So many ways to use them, so little time.

My card today was created for my cousin who had a very special milestone last month.  Her favourite colour is blue, so I went for “Pool Party” & “Island Indigo” Inks but that was after consulting my “Colour Coach” – love, love, love that!

Using these colours I had to be very careful not to have it look too much like a male’s card so I added a little it of Glimmer Paper to bring some shine to it.  I also kept it very plain & decided to added no greeting.  I must say that I am happy with that decision.

I’m happy to report that Janet loved it, especially the fact that it had nothing else on it.  She was also very intrigued as to how I did my background.

125. 60 – Celebrate Today

In our Technique Class last Sunday, we played with SU!’s Decorative Masks.  If you haven’t used them, you don’t really know what you have missed as there is just so much you can do to create lovely backgrounds for your cards, scrapbooking or 3-D projects.

In our card we used 2 colours with our Masks – Whisper White & Bermuda Bay.  The Bermuda Bay gives the card a 3-d effect.  To finish it off I kept it fairly simple as I think the Technique speaks for itself.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday

Naomi & I had a bit of a play day the other day with our Decorative Masks, Grateful Bunch Bundle as well as the Botanical Blooms Bundle both from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.Naomi card

For some reason my card wasn’t coming together the way I hoped.  I was also intent on using So Saffron on my card – didn’t realise it until such time as Naomi mentioned it – but I was not about to give in until I saw her gorgeous card.

I just felt mine wasn’t going anywhere – colours were wrong, stencilling was wrong & my mind had wondered……  so to the one side it went.

Not letting it get the better of me, I picked it up again the next day & played around.  I ended up not only using So Saffron (which I wanted) but I changed out the main flower to Blushing Bride (still not happy) & then sponged it with Melon Mambo Ink.  I had put everything away by this stage & didn’t want to cut another flower.  My desk was covered in them!

After changing my flower, I then decided that I was going to change my stencilling & go another way.  So I flipped the card over, grabbed a mask – circle in this instance – laid my Decorative Mask over the top & sponged in Soft Sky.  Hooray, at long last it was coming together!!!!

Not taking any notice on the Wink of Colour Pen, I’ve used Gold instead of the Clear but am loving the final result.  I hope you do too!

Early last week Naomi & I got together & had a bit of a play.  In fact it was our final meeting before the launch of our Technique Treats.  Be sure to check back on Wednesday to see what this is all about!

As I had been playing with our Decorative Masks & the new Grateful Bunch Bundle from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue which had arrived the previous day we decided to go with what was out on the table.

I’ve been playing with the Decorative Masks of late & loving the different looks I can achieve with these.  I have also been creating classes using 004wma-blogthem for Crafty Creations Classes – my volunteer classes.

For my card today, I saw something similar on Pinterest sometime ago & filed it in the back of my mind to have a play over the Christmas Break.  Looking at the original, my doesn’t look much like it but that is a good thing.

I’ve used the gorgeous “Birthday Blooms” from the current 2016 Occasions Catalogue & team it up with the greeting from “Sky is the Limit” which is from 2016 SAB.

I used one of the Decorative Masks from the “Happy Patterns” as I sort of wanted to create a wall which the Rose could sit on.  Not sure if I pulled it off, but I’m happy with the result.

My Pearls have been coloured with a Pink & Yellow Permanent Marker.  The colours are so close to Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight that I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.

I finished my Rose off by adding “Wink of Stella – Clear” to the flower.  I did try to get a good photo of all the lovely shinny bits, but unfortunately no luck.
