Paper Rose Studio | Strawberry Friends Collection | Scrapbook Pages

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Toady I am sharing my 2nd project for February created with the lovely Strawberry Friends Collection by Paper Rose Studio.

Have you ever looked through your old handmade cards & think “this would really make a cute scrapbook page?” You could even create your cards from scrapbook layouts too.

Well, this is how my pages started.

I wanted to create quick and easy 6×8 scrapbook layouts, but I didn’t want to overthink the designs or pull out tons of supplies. So instead of searching for complicated sketches, I did something way simpler…

I raided my old card photos for inspiration.

Supplies

Page 1

The Pattern Paper squares are 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″.  To add more interest, I randomly drew lines around each square with a Black Fine Liner Pen.  They were adhere to Basic White Smooth Cardstock measuring 6″ x 8″.  This page will hold a cute little 2″ x 2 ” photo but you could easily add a larger photo if you wish.  The Pink Lemonade Shimmer Cardstock photo mat  measures 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″.

Page 2

Again, Paper Pattern squares were added to a 6″ x 8″ Basic White Smooth Cardstock page but this time the Pink Lemonade Shimmer Cardstock photo mat has been added a little off centre to the left side.  It will again hold a cute little 2″ x 2″ photo.

The Embellishment are Pearls & were coloured with a green Alcohol Marker.

The sentiment strips are from the Rainbow Poppies A5 Sentiment Sheets.  I love these sheets as they are perfect for both cards & scrapbook pages.

I will confess ….. case’ing old card layouts made this feel way less overwhelming as I didn’t overthink it, no complicated sketch layouts AND I’ve used scraps to ceate the pages.  In fact, these pages come together so fast.  They are simple but sometimes simple is all we need.

Next time you want to create a scrapbook page, don’t forget to flip through your old cards and pick one you love, asking yourself – Where would my photo/s go?  Where would the title sit?  Do I need a title?  What can I use for embellishments?  Then, all that is left is to rebuild it but this time a little bigger!

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

Strawberry Friends | Paper Rose Studio | Sweet Summer Cards

G’Day Crafty Friends,

Today’s cards are inspired by a whole little strawberry world… think fluffy rabbits, curious mice, waddly geese, flower patches and old-fashioned bikes rolling through the garden.  Soft colours, simple shapes and lots of ways to stretch those basic dies you already have in your stash – created with the lovely Strawberry Friends Collection by Paper Rose Studio.

No complicated techniques.  No specialty dies.  Just a handful of basic shapes… and a tiny world of strawberry-loving friends.

You don’t need fancy supplies to make magic.  You just need to look at your dies a little differently.

Supplies

To create a Die Cut Frame

  • Place Cardstock onto Die Cutting Machine
  • Place a large Stitched Circle Die on top of Cardstock
  • Place a smaller size Circle Die inside the larger die ensuring it is even spacing all around
  • Add Masking Tape or Washi Tape over Dies to adhere in place
  • Run through Die Cutting Machine

  • You will now have 2 circle shapes – 1 x “frame” & 1 x circle – refer below

  • Use the “frame” on your project & save the circle shape to use on another project

  • Creating different frames this way will work for most die shapes & even punches.  Change out the shapes from circles to rectangles, ovals, squares, hearts, etc

Card #1 – Stitched & Nesting Circles Metal Crafting Dies

Card #2 – Nesting Rectangles Australian Metal Cutting Die

Create the Rectangle Frame as per the Circle Frame but using the Nesting Rectangles – Australia Metal Cutting Die

Card #3 – Nesting Rectangles Australian Metal Cutting Die

Create the Polaroid Frame as per the Circle Frame but using the Nesting Rectangles – Australia Metal Cutting Die

Card #4 – Stitched Ovals Metal Cutting Die

Create the Oval Frame as per the Circle Frame but using the Stitched Ovals Metal Crafting Dies

Final thought

If you ever feel stuck creatively, try grabbing your basic shape dies and challenge yourself to use them in different ways.    You’ll be surprised how far you can stretch what you already have.  And maybe you’ll end up with a whole gang of strawberry friends along the way.

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!

Candy Kisses | 6 x 8 Photo Album | Paper Rose Studio | Design Team Project

G’Day Friends,

My share today is full of love & interactive fun!

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to document love, laughter and sweet memories.  This 6 x 8 interactive photo album does just that!  For this Design Team project, I created a Valentine-themed photo album using the Candy Kisses Basics 12 x 12 Paper Collection, filled with soft colours, playful patterns and lots of love-inspired details.

This album is designed to hold your favorite Valentine photos, handwritten notes and special keepsakes, making it a meaningful project you’ll enjoy creating and flipping through year after year.  In fact, it can be used for any occasion, not just Valentine’s!

About the Album

The album measures 6 x 8 inches and features a mix of interactive pages and pocket pages for added interest.  The Candy Kisses Basics 12 x 12 Collection was perfect for this project, with its sweet colours, florals and romantic sentiments that work beautifully for Valentine’s Day and love-themed memories.

Inside the album, you’ll find:

  • Flip-up and fold-out interactive pages
  • Pocket pages for photos, tags, and journaling cards
  • Plenty of space for 5 x 7, 4 x 6  and 3 x 4 photos
  • Layered details that add texture without too much bulk

This style of album is great for beginners and experienced crafters alike and it’s easy to customize with your own photos and embellishments.

Why I Love This Project

What I love most about this album is how interactive it is.  The pockets allow you to tuck in notes, love letters or small memorabilia, while the interactive elements make each page feel like a little surprise.  It’s a fun way to showcase the Candy Kisses Collection and create something truly special for Valentine’s Day.

Sweet Candy Treats Collection | Paper Rose Studio | Design Team Project

G’Day Friends,

I am happy to say that I am part of Paper Rose Studio‘s Design Team for 2026!  I was so excited when asked as it’s been my dream to be part of this team for so long.

My project today is a fun Z-Fold Card which is interactive, eye-catching and surprisingly an easy card to make.  It’s a great way to showcase the gorgeous patterned paper and the coordinating embossed die cuts from the Candy Treats Collection.  It’s perfect for giving to your friends, class mates, work mates or someone special for Valentine’s Day!

Why You’ll Love This Fun Fold Project

  •  Perfect size for Valentine’ Day or Just Because
  • Interactive fun fold design
  • Great for using patterned paper scraps
  • Fits in a standard C6 Envelope
  •  Includes a step-by-step video tutorial

Design Details

Usually I go for the opposite sides of bright & bold papers when creating projects, but this time round I decided to jump right in & use the bold & bright sides of the papers.  You could always tone them down a little by adding Vellum over the top.  The card opens to reveal a little bit of a different Z-Fold.  I added a space on the back for writing your message & finished it off with a Belly Band.

You can easily customize this fold by:

  • Changing the sentiment – friendship, kids, birthdays, etc

  • Using different papers & coloured cardstock

  • Swapping colors for non-traditional Valentine looks

Supplies Used

Here’s what you’ll need to create this fun fold:

Cardstock & Paper – Paper Rose Studio

Tools

  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scoring Board
  • Bone Folder
  • Adhesive – Liquid or Tape
  • Scissors
  • Dimensional Tape

Tutorial: How to Create This Fun Fold

I’ve put together a Basic Template showing how to cut, score and assemble this fun fold from start to finish.

Elegant Gift Card Holder | Small Poinsettia Dies | Pink Faux Glitter Paper

G’Day Friends,

Gift cards may be small, but the way you present them can make them feel every bit as special as a wrapped box under the tree.  Today I’m sharing a beautifully elegant gift card holder that works not only for Christmas, but truly for any occasion throughout the year.  It’s one of those projects that looks fancy and intricate – yet comes together surprisingly quickly thanks to a few standout supplies: the gorgeous Small Poinsettia Craft Dies and some stunning Pink Faux Glitter Paper.  You can shop these supplies from Kat Scrappiness.

A Fresh Take on Holiday Crafting

When we think of poinsettias, we usually picture the deep reds and greens of traditional Christmas décor.  But crafting lets us reimagine classics and this project does exactly that.  By cutting the poinsettia layers from white cardstock & laying onto the pink faux glitter paper, the familiar Christmas bloom suddenly feels modern, soft and elegant.  The faux glitter texture adds sparkle without the mess, giving the flower a beautiful shine that catches the light from any angle.

Layering the petals creates a pretty dimensional effect and mixing shades of pink or adding a vellum layer can elevate it even further.  Whether you leave the centre simple or embellish it with pearls, gems or metallic cardstock, the poinsettia becomes a luxe focal point.

The Gift Card Holder

The holder itself is clean and simple—designed to let the flower shine.  A sturdy cardstock base forms the pocket, and you can decorate it with patterned paper, embossed panels or coordinating glitter accents.

This basic structure is incredibly versatile.  Swap out the sentiment, change the colour palette, or use themed patterned papers to make versions for birthdays, weddings, thank-yous, teacher gifts or even baby showers.  The poinsettia die cuts remain beautiful year-round when cut from non-Christmas colours.

Why This Project Works

  • It looks luxurious, thanks to the gorgeous stitched white poinsettia centerpiece.
  • It’s easy to recreate, even if you’re short on time.
  • It uses small scraps, especially for the die-cut florals.
  • It’s adaptable for any occasion, simply by changing the paper or sentiment.
  • It turns a simple gift card into something heartfelt and handmade.

Perfect for Crafting Ahead

If you enjoy building a stash of ready-to-go handmade items, this project is perfect.  Create a batch of poinsettias in different colours – pink, white, gold, blue or even classic red – and keep them on hand to embellish gift card holders whenever you need one.

Whether you’re crafting for Christmas or simply looking for a beautiful, all-occasion presentation, this poinsettia gift card holder is sure to bring joy to both the maker and the recipient.

Made the sweetest little gift card holder today!

I used the small poinsettia craft dies and some pink faux glitter paper and wow—instant elegance!  Love how something so simple can look so special!

Until next time – stay inspired & keep creating!
