Was again going to be used for our 2nd card last Sunday in our Technique Class, this time with a twist, ie a Tri-Fold Card, but I changed my mind at the last moment & created another card.
If you haven’t created one of these cards before, you need to have a go. They are a fun little card – 3 1/2″ square in size, but one that packs a WOW! A small box was created with the Envelope Punch Board to fit this card. The Envelope Punch Board makes it so easy to create.
The card uses the Stamp Set – “Lotus Blossom” along with the “Best Year Ever” Accessories Pack & matching DSP – Best Year Ever. All 3 items are from the SAB 2015 Brochure which are FREE products when you spend $AUD90.00 (excluding P&H). Love, love, love all this gorgeous, bright product.
If you would like to learn how to create this card & 3-Step Stamping, then either check out the dates on the Classes/Workshops Page or contact me to book a day & time to suit you.
“Today the challenge is all about using New Buttons and Ribbon on your project. We are focussing our attention on the SALE-A-BRATION Catalogue and using the Best Ever Accessory Pack’s ribbon and buttons from page 4. If you haven’t scored yourself a free pack yet, you can use other SU buttons and ribbons that are new to you. CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything. This whole challenge blog is about using the current Stampin’ Up! Catalogues to help you create. Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catties are certainly a demonstrator or customer’s best resource”
To begin with I sat down & scribbled a rough sketch onto a piece of scrap paper – this is usually the piece I stamp, practice on & create my card on. Once I have finished my card, it then goes in the bin.
I grabbed my “Accessory Pack“, along with the matching “DSP – Best Year Ever” & started to work. Looking at my card, I’ve just realised it is not the DSP side I started out playing with, but it all comes together, I think!
I decided to toss in a bit of Soft Sky & ended up using it for the Base Card. Surprise, surprise, it didn’t clash with the Coastal Cabana.
I then started to add Rhinestones to the centre, but as the Buttons were sitting in front of me, I played around until I found a way to use them, so I created Antennae for the Butterfly by threading Baker’s Twinethrough the Ribbon & adhering to the Butterfly with a Glue Dot.
Thank you ladies for a great challenge & hopefully I will be playing along more often.

It is a very rainy & very wet day here today. My thoughts are with friends & family up north in the brunt of “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” as she bears down on the coast as well as friends in Darwin who are dealing with “Lam”. Stay safe everyone!
I don’t usually craft on rainy days, but saw the great challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches & thought I would give it a go. Not knowing where I was going with this, I decided on the colours that I wanted to use & then just sort of went along with the flow. I’m really happy with the final result, although not sure about the small section of the Sahara Sand Starburst showing at the bottom of the circle, but no doubt it will grow on me.
For the inside of my card, I decided to use a small piece of the DSP – Best Year Ever, again add a small strip of Calypso Coral Card to one side & adhere it to a piece of Whisper White Card at a slight angle.
I played around bit with the card front, heat embossing direct onto the DSP with Versamark & Sahara Sand Inks prior to adhering to the Card Front plus layering a small piece of the gorgeous Lace Trim. I wanted the embossing to be very subtle & not take away from the focal point of the card. I also played around with stamping under & on the circle which gives it a little bit of a different look. I finished it off with scattered Rhinestones.

This is a stamp set that I’ve had sitting on my shelf for sometime. As it has never seen ink, I thought it would be the perfect time for it to be used.
My card today is one I did for our monthly challenge. Our challenge is for all the ladies in my Volunteer & Technique Classes as well as Customers who would like to play along. In fact, anyone is quiet welcome to play along.
I was determined to use the DSP – Best Year Ever from SAB 2015 for my card. As I was sort of playing with colours, this stamp set popped into my mind. I wanted it to be a boys card, but after seeing the finished card, it could easily be for a girl too. The DSP for some reason reminds me of blocks.
For the inside of my card, I randomly stamped the “Lego” Images onto Whisper White Card with Crushed Curry Ink prior to adhering to a piece of Sahara Sand Card & then to the inside card.
It is a fairly easy sketch, but one that I’m sure the ladies will love. If you get a spare 5 minutes why not have a go. It is a great way to get some of those cards created that you need for upcoming birthdays, etc.
