Technique Class

Yesterday we commenced our Technique Classes for 2015.  It was great catching up with everyone & hearing all the stories of what Christmas/New Year was like, how the grandkids were & what everyone has been getting up to over the School Holidays, which is one of the reasons we had a fairly easy class to get back into the swing of things.019aa-blog

For our 1st class back we played with new product from SAB 2015 & the ladies absolutely loved all the gorgeous new stuff.  Don’t forget you can still earn FREE product during SAB 2015 – 6 January – 31 March – with any order over $AUD90.00 excluding P&H.  Contact me if you don’t have a copy or click on the photo on the  hand side..

Lotus Blossom” is one of the FREE Stamp Sets you can earn while Sale-a-Bration is on & we concentrated on the 3-Step Stamping in this case!  It does take a little playing to get the stamping right, but it also depends on the depth of your ink colours.

We also used some of the gorgeous DSP – Painted Blooms from the Occasions Catalogue.  To view this Catalogue, either contact me or click on the photo on the right hand side.

In our card we used Blushing Bride Ink as our 1st 2 colours & finished the flower off with Pink Pirouette Ink as it is the lighter of the 2.  Because these 2 colours are so light, there was no need to stamp off first.

This class will be repeated this month at my home if you would like to create these cards.  For more details, please click onto the Classes/Workshop Page.  Depending on how popular the class is, it may be repeated for the month of March.  Please contact me for more details.

If you are unable to make the classes, I am more than happy for you to purchase the kits.  please contact me for more details.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Challenge #3

Our challenge for March begins today.  This is a challenge that I give to my customers & classes each month.  I am enjoying 3 March 2015seeing everyone’s projects & what they create from the same sketch layout.  To see all the cards, all you have to do is check out the Challenge Album on Facebook.

I decided challenge myself to a couple of things –

1.  Minimum stamping

2.  In Colours – especially ones that I don’t usually use

3.  Have a lot of white showing, therefore creating a clean card

Once I had selected my Base Colour – Blackberry Bliss, I headed straight for the gorgeous DSP – Painted Blooms from the current Occasions Catalogue.  I then decided that instead of stamping my images, I was going to emboss or punch them which is why I went for the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.

Adding a little Ribbon, Butterflies, minimum DSP & finishing off with Pearls created a quick & simple card.

47. Thinking of You

Painted Blooms DSP

I suddenly realised I hadn’t shared the 2nd part of my project I gave to Naomi.  This is the Notebook which accompanied the Frame (if you click on “Frame” you can see the 1st part of the gift).019ae-blog1

I had a couple of Notebooks sitting on my desk waiting to be covered & decided to use one of them & cover it to match the frame.  This DSP is just so gorgeous & screams to be used in different ways besides creating cards.

Along with the DSP down the spine, I used Soft Sky Card for the front & back covers.  The Ribbon sort of fell off the hook when walking past & to my surprise matched perfectly – non-SU!

I cut a the centre from a piece of Whisper White CS using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, placed a piece of DSP behind & layered it to a piece of Blushing Bride CS prior to adhering to the front of the Notebook.  I thought doing it this way created a sort of frame for the DSP.019ae-blog

I then decided to add “N” for Naomi & cut her initial from Soft Sky CS using the Little Letters Thinlits, adhered it to Whisper White which I punched with the 1″ Circle Punch & adhered it to a piece of Rose Red CS which had been punched with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch prior to adhering to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Of course, I had to finish it off with another Butterfly to match the Frame, so I cut the Butterfly from Soft Sky Card & the Butterfly Thinlits  before adhering to the front with Pearls in the centre.

I think Naomi loved it all.  I know I did.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Challenge # 1

Beginning this month, I thought it would be a bit of fun to have a challenge amongst my Customers, Friends, Downlines & 1--January-2015whomever else wanted to play along.  They will be very easy challenges, so there is no need to panic.  I just want everyone to have a little bit of fun.  They will run for about a month, depending on what the response is like.

You can either email your card/project to me so that I post it onto Facebook or you can post to Facebook in the comments line.  Any challenges emailed to me will not have their name attached to their card until after the challenge ends.  I want it to be a surprise for everyone.  You will vote for the card you like the most.  If no-one votes then I will place the cards in a hat & draw out the winning number.

A couple of things to remember –

  • You do not have to play along, but would love to see your work
  • Please don’t stress out about it, just have a little bit of fun playing
  • You can create whatever you like, using the sketch, eg Scrapbook Page, 3-D Item, Card, etc
  • Majority should be Stampin’ Up!, but please use whatever you have.  I just want you to have fun
  • Deadline – 30 January, so have a couple of weeks to play along
  • Email me your creations so that I can check them out & load to Facebook/Blog
  • Surprise at the end of the challenge (Aus residents only)

I do hope you will play along with us.  We would love to see what you can create.  Remember you have until the end of January.

Below is my card to start you off.  Click on the link below to grab a tutorial to create your own card or one using the above sketch.

“Challenge 1 – Happy Birthday”

Sneak Peak from the New Occasions Catalogue

023close---blogYep, today’s post is one show casing some of the gorgeous DSPButterfly Thinlits Dies from the new Occasions Catalogue. Believe me when I say you are going to need this Catalogue.  It jammed packed with gorgeous new products & lots of great idea showing you how to use it.

My post today come from the sample in the Catalogue, Page 18.

This is a Frame I did using some of the new DSP – “Painted Blooms”.  See how it looks like an abstract painting.  Yep, all I did was cut the DSP back to the size I wanted which in this case was 5″ x 7″ & adhered to a piece of Whisper White CS to make it a little bit stronger.

As I wanted it to sit on Naomi’s new crafting desk, I took the “Create” from Stampin’ Up!’s – “Inspire… Create… Share…” & printed it in Soft Sky onto Whisper White CS using MDS.  It was then run through the BS using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  I coloured 6 small Pearls with the lightest shade of Melon Mambo Blendibility prior to adhering to each side & then to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Once it had been placed in the frame, I fell it still needed something, so I then run the middle size Butterfly Thinlits through the BS with Soft Sky & Blushing Bride CS before layering them & adhering them to the front of the frame with Glue Dots. I added Pearls to the centre of the Butterfly.

What do you think?  I am seriously thinking of doing the same for myself.

If you would like to get your hands on a copy of this new Catalogue, which goes live tomorrow, then please contact me.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
