Mojo Monday 488

Today’s card is one I created for the challenge over at Mojo Monday.  I have followed this 20170315_082342_resizedblogchallenge for some time & seeing as though I am finding it difficult to create at the moment, I thought playing along with a few challenges may get me a little motivated.

I’m not normally a Bright’s person, but I had the “Festive Birthday” DSP sitting on my desk from another project I had created – will show you that sometime next week – & thought “why not?”.  I am actually surprised at how much I love this DSP & all the lovely patterns & colours in the pack.

While creating the card, I had a bit of a light bulb moment with the umbrella.  I have been wanting to do a fringe along the bottom for sometime but couldn’t really work out how it was going to be achieved & then “Bam” & the brain went into overdrive.  Now I am happy with it & looks like the beach umbrella I have & use down the beach.

Tip –

  1. Die cut 2 umbrella shapes from the “Umbrella Weather” Framelits in different colours or 1 in DSP & the 2nd in a matching CS colour
  2. Cut a small “fringe” along the bottom of the CS
  3. Layer DSP Shape over top with the “fringe” showing a little at bottom

I’ve actually left the sentiment off the card for the moment as I will do that when the occasions arises, although I don’t really think it needs one.

There is still time to play along with Mojo Monday so head on over to check out all the lovely creations.

200. Festive Birthday

Before we get into my card today, I just wanted to say that I created it for 2 challenges but then forgot to post it.  As a result, 1 of the challenges closed which is the layout of the card,Challenge but that is ok as I am still happy with the card & it made it easy for me to create my card.

The challenge over at Sunday Stamps was to use “Shades of Blue” along with a pop of green & grey.  I will admit that I don’t use these colours together very often but when I do, I love them!  It is always good to create outside your comfort zone, so thank you Sunday Stamps for a great challenge..

Don’t forget, if you click above the photo you will be able to download a free tutorial to create your own card.  The tutorial includes Supplies & Measurements (Imperial & Metric).

163. Congratulations – Picture Perfect

G’day Stampers,

Today’s card is one I created using one of the sketches from our Pretty Pattern Papers (check out the Page above) Tutorials.

Last week I shared with you a card using the same sketch & as it turned out, I was asked to create card using Pinks, White & Browns for a special occasion.

As I wanted to use the same layout from the one I shared last week, I decided to go with the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set along with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits & of course the matching Love Blossoms DSP (retired).

I updated it by changing out the circle to squares by using the Layered Squares Framelits (loving these…), embossing a piece of Blushing Bride Card & adding Pearls.  Actually, to be truthful, I found the piece of Blushing Bride already cut to size & embossed so it was sort of easy to go from there.

.. with “By the Tide” for another challenge over at Can You Case ItCYCI100-232x300

I thought this a perfect way to create a card for my one of my brother’s birthdays coming up in January and decided to have a play with one of the punches that was sitting on my desk & not yet put away or am I being lazy?  I often like to stretch my supplies & use them in other ways – gets me out of my comfort zone.

After deciding to go with Marina Mist & Night of Navy – let’s face it, you don’t have a choice when you are playing with this set – I opted to add a little bit of Soft Suede to break it up a little, so I used it as a layer & also for my greeting.

Thank you to the Design Team for a great challenge.

He’s Making a List….

G’day Stampers,

It is back to the Christmas Cards for today which is the card we created in my volunteer class this arvo.

I love these 2 stamp sets (both retired) especially when I can use them again & again but in so many different ways.

Many Thanks

G’day Stampers,

I thought today we would have a bit of a break from the Christmas Cards & go with a Thank You Card that I posted out to some of my customers last month.  I found a card very similar here & went with it.

Short & sweet today, but don’t forget to click on the Title above the card you will be able to download a tutorial to create your own card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Christmas Cards

Sometime ago we started created our Christmas Cards in my Crafty Creations class.  I thought it would be great to get a head start on them instead of leaving them for the last couple of months.  I think this way, it gives the ladies ideas if they wish to make an early start.

Each created a card in the colour of their choice – Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green, Hello Honey & Blackberry Bliss or Bermuda Bay & Smokey Slate.  We did use some retired products, but this gives me a good excuse to use it up or re-use my favourites.

The Tutorial is for the Bermuda Bay & Smokey Slate, but all you have to do is change it out to the colours you want.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

70. Mosaic Madness – Merry Christmas

Any Many More…

… was the only Stamp Set we used on our 2nd card in our Technique Class last Sunday.

I think this is a very simple, easy card but one with a bit of a “WOW”.  I especially loved how all the cards in our class were all so very different – some bright, some very, very bright while others were a little toned down like mine.

We’ve been playing with Dies the last few months & I am really enjoying it.  There are just so many ways to use your Dies that my hands can’t keep up with my head.

If you would like to come along to one of my classes, please check out the “Classes/Workshops” Page.  The classes have now been updated for August & September.  If the days & times do not suit, please feel free to contact me to arrange a time to suit you.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Floral Wings

I started a couple of Thank You Cards last week & then got a bit stuck on what to do on them.  I used the new 004wme-blog“Bohemian” DSP which we could order in our pre-order.  I am not usually a Bright‘s person, but as I like to play with different colours & papers, I thought it would be perfect for my cards.

After staring at my stamps & not getting anywhere, this set literally fell off my table & onto my feet (I hadn’t put it on the shelf) & decided that I was going to use the Butterfly somehow on my cards.  If that wasn’t a sign then I don’t know what is!

I actually did a couple of different designs but using the same layout.

Today’s cards are using Rich Razzleberry for the Base Card.

I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla using the matching Boho Chic Textured Embossing Folder, adhered a piece of Bohemian DSP to the side & added a piece of Crushed Curry Ribbon, tucking the ends behind & adhering to the Base Card.

005b-wm-blogI stamped the Butterfly Image onto a piece of Very Vanilla in Rich Razzleberry Ink.  The Flowers were stamped with Delightful Dijon while the Leaves are in Old Olive.  As I didn’t have the new “Bold Butterfly” Dies, I fussy cut it before adhering the Very Vanilla Butterfly to the top which has been run through the Big Shot using the “Butterfly“. Thinlits.

I added 3 large Rhinestones to the centre of the Butterfly.

Thank You” was stamped using the now retired “Itty Bitty Banners” – just had to use it once last time – in Rich Razzleberry before cutting with the matching Bitty Banners Die & adhered to the card.

Now for the image that I truly love & that is the darling little Vine & Rose that goes with the set!  I stamped the Vine inside in Old Olive while the little Rose is in Rich Razzleberry.  I can see me using this Vine a lot & already ideas are popping into my head.

Floral Wings” is a Hostess Set, so the only way you can earn this set is by having a Party.  IF you are interested in that, please contact me.

Until next time, when I will show you the other “Thank You” Cards.

Bokeh Technique # 2

Our 2nd card from our Bokeh Technique Class last week is using the new Stamp Set “Celebrate Today” which is in the Occasional Catalogue.  I again saw this card on Pinterest as my starting point & then when out on my own.  I think the colours are perfect for the girls.

We did our Technique a little different for this card by wetting the Base Card – Whisper White first & then “blobbing” Ink onto the card with Re-Fills & an Aqua Painter.  I didn’t use Watercolour Paper has I wanted to see if I could do the same technique using ordinary Cardstock.  I love how the result is so different.

The Whisper White Card layered onto the Base Card – Melon Mambo has been embossed using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

For the Balloon, we stamped the Confetti Image onto Vellum Card in Pumpkin Pie Ink prior to cutting out with the Balloon Die, running through the Big Shot & adhering to Card Front.

To create the “Happy“, we used the Little Letters Thinlits – love these letters & use them soooooo much! We used the Reserve & not the letters.  This was adhered to the top of the Balloon with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the Right Hand Sight & Adhesive on the Left Hand Side.

The “Birthday” is from the same Stamp Set & is stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White in Memento Black Ink prior to adhering to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, we tied  bow with Whisper White Baker’s Twine & adhered it to the Balloon with a Glue Dot.

The ladies loved both of their cards.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
