#GDP084 – Global Design Project

Today’s card is one I’ve created for the Global Design Project where we had a challenge toGDP84 case the designer – Michelle Last.  As I am in need of a couple of special cards & having the “Love & Affection” Stamp Set sitting on my desk, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to play with both.

I also went for a colour that I haven’t used in quiet sometime – Rose Red Ink & Card.  I then decided to team it with Pool Party So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz with touches of Flirty Flamingo which is what the flowers are.  Although I wasn’t sure how the colours would compliment each other with Very Vanilla, I’m happy with the soft look of the card.

20170425_100744blogI’m happy to say the card went off in the mail this morning, so fingers crossed the receiver will like it!

Why not bop on over to the Global Design Project Page & play along.  You still have heaps of time.

FMS #284

I saw a great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches yesterday & thought it would be FMS Final 284-001perfect to showcase the  “Grateful Bunch” Stamp Set & the matching “Blossom” Punch both of which are retiring.

To create my card I stamped the leaf direct onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in Wild Wasabi Ink.  I created a small faux stitched border around the Card using a Ruler & the Marina Mist Stampin’ Write Marker.  I didn’t go with Pacific Point as I wanted to tone it down a little.

I then stamped the large Sunflower onto a scrap of Whisper White in Archival Basic Grey Ink, coloured with the Pacific Point Watercolour Pencil & Blender Pen before fussy cutting.

I stamped the group of flowers a number of times onto Whisper White with Archival Basic Grey Ink including extra small flowers, coloured with the Daffodil Delight & Melon Mambo Watercolour Pencils & Blender Pen.  I punched all flowers using the “Blossom” 20170420_090100blog-insidePunch.

Clear Wink of Stella was applied to the flowers to add shine & to bring out the colour a little more.  Gold Wink of Stella (retiring) was applied to centre of the large flower.

Marina Mist strips were adhered to both sides of the stamped Whisper White before layering onto a piece of Whisper White & then to the Base Card – Pink Pirouette.

The flowers were arranged onto the Card Front & adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue & Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the “Love & Affection” Stamp Set (retiring) & is stamped onto a piece of Whisper White in Archival Basic Grey Ink before cutting back to size & layered onto a piece of Marina Mist.  Both ends were then punched using the “Banner Triple” Punch & adhering to the Card Front.

To complete the card I added Rhinestones Basic Jewels to the centre of the flowers & randomly scattered a couple over the front.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the leaf onto Whisper White in Wild Wasabi Ink & added the extra flowers  left over from the front.April

Thank you ladies for a great challenge.  Just what I needed to help showcase the sweet “Grateful Bunch” Stamp Set & the matching “Blossom” Punch.

Sending a Smile…

… Your Way with “Love & Affection” Stamp Set.

As mention in my Newsletter, I am going to try & convince you all to use your “Washi Tape” & try something new.  With that in mind, let’s call it “Washi Wednesday, so hopefully each Wednesday I will have a card using this fantastic product.  Stampin’ Up! have the most gorgeous Tape & I can bet we all have a bunch of it hey.  I thought it would be a great idea to start using it & then try & encourage you to play with it.  I know, I bet it is sitting in the bottom of your drawer!!!!!  The beauty about Washi Tape is it can help create quick & easy cards which can still have a WOW about #1---Junethem.

I’ve actually created my card using a sketch I made way back in June – same layout, different look.  You will be able to see the original one by clicking on this link & another card using the same layout here.

Sending a Smile Your Way

I did today’s card a few weeks ago & hadn’t realised that it hadn’t been posted.  In fact, it was created when I first received my pre-order.  I am a little happy with the final result, although it is not what I started out to create but hey that happens.  Who hasn’t created a card that looks completely different to what you started out doing?

I’ve used the gorgeous “Love & Affection” Stamp Set along with a Blender Pen to colour my main flower.  The main part of the card has been sponged with Peach Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach & Sweet Sugarplum Inks with a Stampin’ Sponge.

I stamped the large flower direct onto a piece of Whisper White Circle in Sweet Sugarplum & then randomly stamped smaller flowers & leaves around the circle.  I stamped the same large flower onto a scrap of Whisper White Card in Sweet Sugarplum, coloured it with the Blender Pen before fussy cutting & adhering over the top of the matching flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The circle was then adhered to the sponged card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Weekly Sketch #1

G’day Stampers,

I’ve doing something a little different today in that I have a fun sketch for you to try out.#1---June    These may not be every week but they will occur every so often.  I am hoping that these sketches will get me crafting again.  I am sort of having a little bit of trouble getting back into the swing of things, especially my techniques, which I love!

It is very easy but more than happy for you to add your own spin on it. Would love for you to play along.

20160612_102612_resizedwm-bAs this is the first, I kept my card fairly simple plus I had a lot of the stuff still sitting on my desk from a couple of projects (more about them later on in the week), including the Stamp Set – Love & Affection, along with the co-ordinating Washi Tape.

I also decided to use the co-ordinating Embossing Folder – Floral Affection which has 2 Embossing Folders.  Perfect for small areas on your card.

If you click above the photo below, you are able to download a free tutorial on how I created my card.  It also includes all the supplies & measurements.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
