Happy Birthday Zoey!

Today is my niece’s 1st birthday!  Hard to believe she was born 5 weeks premmy & who has grown into a very healthy & happy little girl.Zoey-wma-blog

I aw this Punch Art Giraffe on Pinterest a few months ago by & had to recreate it. People are so very clever & imaginative .  Thank you so much for your inspiration.

Now I will admit I am not the best when it comes to Punch Art, but I was sort of happy with my card.  I think Zoey or rather her mum will love it.  I did change a couple of things, including Embossing Folders, Dies, Punches & Colours.

If I get a chance in the Christmas break, I will do a tutorial on how I created her.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday

Sometime ago I was asked to create a card similar to the here, but with a “Digger”!

I did create a couple of cards after I was asked & then promptly sold them to family.  They got in before I could say “not that 003wmb-blogone” as they usually raid my boxes when visiting.

So when I had to re-create another, my first thought was Punch Art as I didn’t want to do the same.  Now, I am not the best at this type of “Art” but I can say I am really happy with this card.  I also did my “Digger” a little smaller as I didn’t want it t take over the whole card, so for that reason, it was a little fiddly, but I got there in the end.

All the measurements are the same as my previously card except for the Digger.  Since the photo has been taken I did type “CAT” & placed it on the card too.  No machinery is quiet complete without that name/brand (I think so anyhow, being a ex-miner).  I even managed to get little ink onto the cab, but hey I call it “coal”!

Body – Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Card & shape as per the photo.

Cab –  Layer a piece of Silver Foil layered onto a piece of Basic Black &adhere to the body.

002wma-blogEngine –   Score a piece of Basic Black Card & adhere to the Body.

Pump – Cut a small piece of Basic Black & adhere to Body.  Punch a small Basic Black Circle from the Owl Builder Punch, cut in half & adhere to the top of the Pump.

Boom/Arm – As I wanted this to be interactive & moving, I cut 3 pieces of Daffodil Delight into different lengths & put together using Silver Mini Brads.  These are my Pins.

Bucket – I cut a piece of Basic Black Card into a small square, cut it in half at an angle & adhered to the bottom arm.

Shoe – I cut a piece of Basic Black Card, rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch.

Track – I cut a small piece of Silver Foil & adhered across the middle of my Shoe.

Platform/Ring – I cut a small piece of Basic Black Card & adhered to bottom part of Body

To make it look a bit more real, I decided it needed a bit of coal, so I stamped an image from “Work of Art” in Black Memento.

I adhered the Shoes to the card with Adhesive & then popped the Body above them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

As I  mentioned, I am not the best at Punch Art, but I do hope you like my version of the Digger.

Until next time Happy Stampin’

Today I have a bit of a different card to show you.  It is my version of “Instagram”.  I know that there are many out there who do & follow social media, especially “Instagram”.  I can honestly say I am not one of them.  I don’t even go onto Facebook that much except to post my cards which usually takes me all of about 15m. Much prefer to be outside in the garden or down at the beach.  There are probably heaps of these types of cards already out there (to be honest, I haven’t looked), but a door suddenly opened the other day when my niece mentioned Instagram.

Now that I’ve created this one, there are so many ideas going through my head.  For my card I have tried to stay as close to 003wmb-blogthe icon as possible, with the exception of a couple of small changes.

I adhered pieces of Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party & Tempting Turquoise onto a piece of Soft Suede & rounded the corners at the top with the Project Life Corner Punch.

This was then adhered to a piece of Sahara Sand Card which the corners had also been rounded prior to adhering the Soft Suede piece.

I cut a piece of Basic Black into a 1 1/4″ square & adhered it to the top.  A piece of Basic Black was punched using the 1″ Circle Punch, a Flower punched in Real Red using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack & adhered to the centre of the Black Circle prior to adhering to the top of the Black Square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the centre piece, I punched a piece of Sahara Sand Card with the 2″ Circle Punch & sponged around the edge with Sahara Sand Ink & a Dauber.  I repeated this sponging all around the edge of the card.

I adhered a Basic Black Circle to the centre.  This was punched using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch.  I then decided that it needed more in the middle, so I punched 2 more circles in Basic Black – 1 x 1 1/4″ & 1 x 1 3/8″ Circle Punches.  These were both adhered on top of each other prior to adhering to the centre with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

As my Basic Black Card Base looked a little dull, I cut a piece of Modern Medley DSP & adhered it to the front prior to adhering the “camera” to the front.

My “16” was cut using Dies (before SU!) in the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper & adhered to the top circle. The little circle from the “6” was adhered to the centre of the Real Red flower.

I decided to stamp “Happy Birthday” onto Whisper White Card in Real Red Ink, punch with the Word Window Punch & adhered to Card Front.

I hope you like my version of the “Instagram” Card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday Elaina

It is my niece’s 2nd Birthday today & hit the “terrible 2’s” a few months back.  Her mum calls her “Lucy” when she is playing the devil.

For something a little different and after seeing how much she loves “Olaf” I thought it would be a good idea to create a card with him on it.  Plus, it is something a little different & Punch Art!  I love punch art but it doesn’t love me.  I just can’t seem to get it to come together, but I must admit I am happy with this one.  I found a great tutorial on Pinterest by Suzanne.  Thank you so much, you made it very clear & easy, especially for me.  I did do a couple things a little different, but it still looks ok.003ee-blog

When I went looking for a bit of DSP to represent a snowy background, I found the DSP – Sweet Sorbet from 2014 SAB & knew that this would be perfect for the card.  This was adhered to the Base Card  Basic Black, while I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Decorative Dots EF to represent snow. This piece was adhered to a piece of Basic Black prior to adhering to the Base Card at a slight angle.

Once I had created “Olaf“, he was adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I also used a Stampin’ Dimensional for his face & 2 for his head to adhere to the card.  I think it gives him more of a “POP”!

Oh Yea” was printed using MDS, punched with the 1″ Circle Punch before adhering to a piece of Basic Black punched using the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch.

I cut the #2 from a Die I have had for years from Silver Glitter Paper & adhered to a Basic Black circle which has been punched with the 3/4″ Circle Punch.  The little Balloon bit was created with the Heart from the Owl Punch & adhered to the back of the balloon.

Prior to adhering to the card, I wrapped a small piece of Pool Party Baker’s Twine around his hand & adhered to the back of the Balloon with a Glue Dot. prior to adhering to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

To finish it off, I tied a small bow with the same twine & adhered to his hand with a Glue Dot.

I hope she likes it!

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
