I created this card for a challenge, but also with a friend in mind. When I went to post it to the challenge site, I couldn’t remember what challenge it was. Is it just me or does this happen to anyone else?
It is not one of those cards we like to create but none the less, we do them. I thought I would add “Thinking of You” instead of leaving blank or “With Sympathy”.
Again, I don’t have any measurements or tutorial, as I was in a hurry to get it in the post. However, I did consult my Colour Coach for my colours.
I embossed a piece of Pool Party CS with the Decorative Dots EF, wrapped a piece of Whisper White Stitched Satin Ribbon along the left hand side, prior to layering to a piece of Whisper White & finally to the Base Card – Old Olive. I tied a small bow & adhered to top of Ribbon with a Glue Dot.
I used the gorgeous Hostess Set – Floral Wings. The butterfly was stamped n Pool Party, flowers in Perfect Plum & the leaves in Old Olive Inks prior to running through the Big Shot with the corresponding Bold Butterfly Thinlits.
I decided that I was going to inlay my Butterfly back into a piece of Card, so I then placed the Oval Framelits over the top of the cut out Butterfly by running it through the Big Shot. I adhered a piece of scrap Whisper White Card to the cut out Oval Butterflyshape & adhered the stamped butterfly into the shape ensuring it all matched in.
The whole piece was then adhered to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White in Memento Black Ink, cut into a Banner Shape one end & adhere to the Card Front.
I completed the card by adhering Pearls down the side of the sentiment as well as the butterfly centre.
I hope you like my card today. Be sure to check back in a couple of days for my 2nd one.
I had to create a card for a friend who lost her friend through cancer the other day!
As I liked the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches I decided to play along. I also decided to use the Colour Challenge over at a new challenge site I found – Nacho Average Challenges. Both these challenges seemed to work in perfectly for what I had in mind & much to my surprise the card come together easier than I thought it was going to.
It was also the perfect time to use up some of my 2013-2015 In Colours which will be retiring at the end of the month. Crisp Cantaloupe & Baked Brown Sugar are just 2 of the colours I will miss, but hey there are more fantastic colours coming our way 2 June. “Blooming with Kindness” is retiring at the end of the month too, so it was the perfect time to showcase what can be created using this lovely stamp set.

… with “Sheltering Tree“. My card is one of those cards that we all have to use but don’t like to create. Hopefully, it should have been received in the post by the time this post is live.
The Stamp Set is one of the sets I loved immediately upon seeing it in the Occasions Catalogue 2015 & of course this is the first time using it. I have seen so any gorgeous cards created that ideas were forming as I was stamping.
My card was taken from a couple I have seen on Pinterest using other sets but thought the Tree would be perfect for this card. I’ve kept it all natural looking just adding colour with in the images.

Our challenge for March begins today. This is a challenge that I give to my customers & classes each month. I am enjoying seeing everyone’s projects & what they create from the same sketch layout. To see all the cards, all you have to do is check out the Challenge Album on Facebook.
I decided challenge myself to a couple of things –
1. Minimum stamping
2. In Colours – especially ones that I don’t usually use
3. Have a lot of white showing, therefore creating a clean card
Once I had selected my Base Colour – Blackberry Bliss, I headed straight for the gorgeous DSP – Painted Blooms from the current Occasions Catalogue. I then decided that instead of stamping my images, I was going to emboss or punch them which is why I went for the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.
Adding a little Ribbon, Butterflies, minimum DSP & finishing off with Pearls created a quick & simple card.
