Pretty Pattern Papers

As our next lot of “Pretty Pattern Papers ” Tutorial is coming up this Saturday, I thought I would share with you a card created from one of the sketches.

Pretty Pattern Papers is all about using that stash of DSP you have hiding in the back of your cupboard or sitting on your shelves just waiting to be used but your afraid to cut into it.

Let’s face it, we all have heaps of DSP in our stash just waiting to be used.  Some of us are 1.2 Aprilnot sure how to use it, but we love it!  Others of us just don’t want to cut into it, we love it too much!  The result – even though we keep buying it because it is just so pretty & we have to have it, it goes into that pile in the cupboard for a “rainy day”, never to be used or to see the light of day!

Well, Pretty Pattern Papers is what will help you to use that DSP Stash.  In the middle of each month, we release Pretty Pattern Papers  showcasing a sketch & 3 cards created from the sketch, all using your one lot of DSP.   The tutorial includes Measurements – Imperil & Metric plus Measurements for all 3 cards.  The sketches are able to be used over & over.

My card uses product from this year’s SAB – Wildflower Fields – BUT you are able to change it out with one of the new DSP from the current catalogue.  In fact, if you check back in a couple of days, you will see the same card created with different Papers.

For more information, be sure to check out our Pretty Pattern Papers Page.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Card #2

Our card tody is the 2nd card created at our Technique Class a couple of Sundays ago.

We used the lovely “Sky is the Limit” which was available for a limited time during SAB 2016.   Along with this stamp set we used “Timeless Texture” on our card, a little bit of Heat Embossing, coloured with our Aqua Painters & then turned it into a Shaker Card.  These cards are very addictive.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Congratulations

In our Technique Class last Sunday, we played with SU!’s Decorative Masks.  If you haven’t used them, you don’t really know what you have missed as there is just so much you can do to create lovely backgrounds for your cards, scrapbooking or 3-D projects.

In our card we used 2 colours with our Masks – Whisper White & Bermuda Bay.  The Bermuda Bay gives the card a 3-d effect.  To finish it off I kept it fairly simple as I think the Technique speaks for itself.

Congratulations

I’ve been playing with the Decorative Masks of late & loving the different looks I can achieve with these.  I have also been creating classes using 004wma-blogthem for Crafty Creations Classes – my volunteer classes.

For my card today, I saw something similar on Pinterest sometime ago & filed it in the back of my mind to have a play over the Christmas Break.  Looking at the original, my doesn’t look much like it but that is a good thing.

I’ve used the gorgeous “Birthday Blooms” from the current 2016 Occasions Catalogue & team it up with the greeting from “Sky is the Limit” which is from 2016 SAB.

I used one of the Decorative Masks from the “Happy Patterns” as I sort of wanted to create a wall which the Rose could sit on.  Not sure if I pulled it off, but I’m happy with the result.

My Pearls have been coloured with a Pink & Yellow Permanent Marker.  The colours are so close to Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight that I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.

I finished my Rose off by adding “Wink of Stella – Clear” to the flower.  I did try to get a good photo of all the lovely shinny bits, but unfortunately no luck.

Happy Birthday Peter

I challenged myself to create a card from an offcut of a class I was planning the other day.  I also challenged myself to create a card using this FREE stamp set – “Sky is the Limit” that could be either male or female.

The card went off in the post the other day to my brother who is celebrating his birthday.

Looking at the card, it is completely different to the class’ card, but am pleased that I continued with the offcut as I quiet happy with it.

I played with a little bit of Heat Embossing & Water Colouring using the beautiful “Timeless Textures” stamp set in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, along with the “Sky is the Limit” from 2016 SAB.

The colours I used to colour are – Mint Macron & Pear Pizzazz (only because that is what was sitting on my desk).  I backed it onto a piece of Mossy Meadow which really brought the colours out.

111 – Happy Birthday – Sky is the Limit

Sky is the Limit

My card today is a take from one I posted a couple of weeks ago.

When I saw this fantastic set in the 2016 SAB Catalogue a couple of ideas immediately sprung to mind so this is one of the first ones I am sharing with you.

I’ve used Old Olive to layer my Hexagons onto but it is very hard to see as only a very narrow edge is showing between.  It does show up a lot better “in real life”.  I also wanted to have a bit of green to represent the forest which is why I used the “Woodland” EF – retired 5 January, but it could easily be replaced with any type of EF.

If you love “Sky is the Limit” stamp set as much as me, be sure to get it (FREE when you spend $AUD90.00 excluding P&H) before it retires as it is only available for a limited time – 15 February 2016.
