I have a couple of customers who are starting to purchase our Ink Refills so I thought it would be perfect to start showcasing ways we can use our Refills instead of just for our Ink Pads. Gotta love it when you can get multiple uses from products.
I actually cased (copy & share everything) this card from Pinterest & thought it the perfect way to use the “Shaving Cream” Technique on our card. Thank you Jan for your inspiration.
You may have noticed that Stampin’ Up! have brought out a new Background Stamp in the new Catalogue called “Marbled”. It gives the marbling effect on your cards, but as I said I wanted to showcase the Refills to create the same effect.
I am still loving the Best Bird Stamp Set & will admit with all the new product being showcased I haven’t played with this set for a little while. It has the coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits to match it & does make like so much easier.
The sponged circle is from a small piece of left over Textured Whisper White that has been sitting in my drawer for so long that was driving me crazy so I just had to use it……. The bird was coloured using our Sponge Daubers.

There is something about this card I love. I think it could be the colours which make the card pop! As I wanted the card to be mostly Whisper White, I thought it would be nice to add a little bit of Daffodil Delight & pops of Basic Black.
I wanted the flowers look like they were in a frame, yet sort of “poking out”. I opted for a circle just to be a little different. The background of Whisper White has been embossed with the “Softly Falling” EF.
The touches of Old Olive leaves lift everything away from the Whisper White background.
The Basic Black circle has been created using the Layering Circles Framelits, the flowers sponged in Daffodil Delight Ink using Sponge Daubers.
The Botanical Builder Framelits create beautiful flowers & they are different every time you use them.
For the inside of my card I used one of the flowers I had die cut & sponged for the front but didn’t end up using. Shame for it to go to waste & not be used.

I saw the great sketch over at Stampin’ Girls Gone Wild this morning & decided to try & create a card with the lovely SAB Stamp Set – Avant Garden. I will be honest & say that even though I love the set I haven’t played with it much….. so this week, you may see a couple of cards showcasing this lovely set.
I took my colours of Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum & Blushing Bride from the “Blooms & Bliss” DSP from the Annual Catalogue & added Early Espresso to soften it even more rather than Basic Black.
I actually used a Lace Doily as a Mask to create the bottom part of my card. A Sponge Dauber & Blushing Bride Ink helped create the effect. I’m quite happy with the result.
Tip Do not toss out the Doily when you have finished as you can use it for another project

This month we are playing with the great techniques of Chalkboard & Shadow Stamping. If you haven’t had a play with these techniques over the years, this is the perfect time to do so. This month we have played with our format & made it a little easier for you.
We stuck with the 2017 Occasions Catalogue & teamed the techniques up with the lovely “Carousel Birthday” Stamp Set which reminds me so much of the local show with the Ferris Wheel & when the circus came to town with the tent & that gorgeous horse. In fact, we were always at the grounds of the circus every arvo after school so much so, that they gave us jobs feeding & cleaning the animals.
All 4 cards may be used for Female, Male or for the Kids.
Measurements for all Treats are in Metric & Imperial. Yep, we cater for everyone no matter where you are in the world. Supply List includes all Product used to create our cards along with the Item #.
Our Technique Treats are perfect if you want to create in the comfort of your home or if you are a SU! Demonstrator who would love to teach a Technique Class – all the work is done for you! Just head over to the Technique Treats Pageto purchase your Treat.
We would love to hear what you think of the Treats.
Kay (USA) says – “Thank you so much for making such wonderful tutorials!!!”
Kris (Brisbane) – “Great card and the Technique Treats are really great”.
I’m happy to say that I am now holding classes at the Toogoom Community Hall every Friday morning, 9.30am – 11.00am. This has been a little time getting off the ground, but I think we could be on our way. We would love for you to come along. All you have to bring is yourself!
I was asked to create a card for a lady who was turning “90” – what a milestone! She loves gardening, so I thought it about time I dug out my Botanical Builder Framelits. Red always reminds me of lovely bright & happy gardens, so I dug out the Brights DSP Stack to use with the Framelits. A little touch of Old Olive & a little Memento Tuxedo Black & we have a WOW card for the lovely lady.
If you think the card looks a little familiar, then you are right, as I created one for my aunt back inJuly very similar to this one.
If you click on the link below, you will be able to create your own card. Don’t forget, all measurements (metric & imperial) are included, along with a supply list.
I’m not sure if you have noticed that there are new “Decorative Masks” in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue so I’m doing a bit of a happy dance at the moment as I love them!
I decided to create a couple of “Thank You” Cards using these Masks. As I’m not one for creating multiples of the same card, I used each of the Masks (set of 4) to create my Cards, but they are generally the same layout.
For those of us who are Demos, you may or may not recognize the layout of today’s card – it is a case from Page 11 of the latest “Stampin’ Success” Magazine.
To give it a bit more of a “WOW”, I’ve flicked a little bit of the Gold Wink of Stella over the sponging
A small tip for you when using Masks, be sure to tape your Mask down over your Card or they will slip & slide all over the place. Retired Washi Tape is just perfect for this!

Tomorrow sees the release of our new Technique Treats, so be sure to pop on back to check them out!
I meant to share the remainder of my aunt’s present a couple of weeks ago but completely forgot about it, but better late than never!
As promised today’s share is the card I created for Jill. It was made to match the small box. Again I’ve used the retired Parisian Breeze Speciality DSP, teamed it up with the same Pink Shimmer Card & used the lovely new Layering Square Framelits. I can see myself using these so much.
For a bit of a different look, I decided to cut the DSP on an angle. It is good to get out of your comfort zone sometimes. I added a stripe of Pear Pizzazz across the top to break it up a little.
I stamped “Happy th Birhday” direct onto a piece of Whisper White in Pear Pizzazz Ink. The Whisper White had been cut with the Layering Squares Framelits as was the Shimmer Pink Card which it was layered onto.
The “80” was cut a number of times in Whisper White using the now retired “Little Numbers” Dies & then once in Shimmer Pink. I layered the Whisper White to each other before finally adding the Pink Numbers to the top. I wanted the Numbers to pop a little from the Card.
The Fern was cut from a scrap of Pear Pizzazz Card using the “Botanical Builder” Framelits before sponging with a Sponge Dauber. The Flowers were cut from the same Shimmer Pink Card, sponged with Melon Mambo Ink. The middles were cut from Whisper White Card & adhered to the centre of the larger flowers before being adhered to the Card Front.
The card was then layered direct on a Whisper white Card Base before adhering Pearls to the centre of the flowers & scattering small ones around the card.
Jill was very happy with her card & couldn’t believe how everything matched. In fact, a couple of people asked me where I had purchased them gift as they had never seen anything like them.
Be sure to pop back to check out the Exploding Bag that went with it.
Today I am going to share with you one of the items I created for my aunt who celebrated her 80th Birthday on Tuesday. I filled the box with 4 x Ferrero Rochero Chocolates – love these!
I don’t have any tutorial or measurements for you as I gave it to her on Tuesday, but I do know the box was about 3″ square & about 1 1/4″ high.
I used one of my favourite DSP’s from a couple of years ago – you may recognise it – Parisian Breeze Speciality. As Jill’s favourite colour is Pink, I teamed it up with a Shimmer Pink Card I use for my Wedding Invitations.
For the flowers, I die cut a couple of size flowers from the “Botanical Builder” Frameits, sponged them with Melon Mambo Ink & a Sponge Dauber to bring out the colour a little more. I then cut the Fern from Pear Pizazz & sponged it with Pear Pizzazz & a Sponge Dauber (not able to see it in photo). The centre was cut from Whisper White.
Be sure to pop back to see the remainder of Jill’s gifts.
