It’s been few days since my last post. I have been creating plus cleaning my craft room. Hopefully, I will be sharing lots of new cards over the next few weeks.
Today’s card has been created for a challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. I love their challenges & try to play along as much as possible but it doesn’t always work out that way.
I don’t have a tutorial as such so will explain how I created my card. I also decided to go with colours that are not normally female, but I do like the finished result.
I embossed a piece of Soft Sky CS with the Seaside EF & adhered to the Base Card – Early Espresso. I then decided to emboss a piece of Whisper White CS with the same EF but going in the opposite direction before layering onto a piece of Sweet Sugarplum CS & then to the Card Front.
The smaller piece of Whisper White CS was randomly coloured towards the bottom with the new Watercolour Pencils – Early Espresso & Pool Party before blending with the Aqua Painter & allowing to dry. I randomly stamped the “footprints” from the “Totally Trees” Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink.
The tree trunk was stamped in Early Espresso Ink while the frons are in Pear Pizzazz Ink. The coconuts are Early Espresso but I’ve had to colour around them with the Early Espresso Pencil as I’ve lost 1 of my little images, but hey, it worked.
I took the “Happy Birthday” from the “Sunburst Sayings” Stamp Set & stamped direct onto the same card in Early Espresso Ink.
To complete my card & to make it a little more female, I added a couple of Pearl Basic Jewels.
There is still a few days to play along with this challenge. I do hope you find the time to do so.
I’ve moved & in my new home, but still not able to create at the moment. Fingers crossed this will change towards the end of the week.
For my card today, I’ve used the Re-Inker Technique & the gorgeous Stamp Set – “Garden in Bloom” & of course the matching “English Garden” DSP. Actually, this technique was one of our features in our Technique Treats #1 which is still available for purchase by heading over to the Technique Treats Page.
I really love how this card turned out, especially the pretty pink flowers highlighted by the touches of Melon Mambo.
As our Technique Treats this month is using Vellum & Stained Glass, I thought I would share with you a card I created showing Vellum & the Rose Wonder Dies from the current 2016 Occasions Catalogue.
I’ve had an idea going around in my head for a few weeks now & thought this was the perfect time to try it out. The Rose Wonder Die was used to create my very own Rose Die by cutting a number of dies & adhering them to a piece of WhiteVellum before colouring them.
I’ve used 2 colours that I would normally not put together – Watermelon Wonder & Real Red – but I like the finished card. The colours are way out of my comfort zone, but I am trying very hard to create out of my comfort zone as you will see in the upcoming weeks.
Not only are they colours I would not normally use, but I am actually packing my craft room up & have left out very limited stock to use – very frustrating, but one that I am dealing with. I have also scheduled a number of posts, so be sure to check back every couple of days to see what I am sharing.

I’ve been playing with new goodies from the Occasion Catalogue 2016, especially the new Sunburst Thinlit Die & the coordinating Stamp Set – Sunburst Sayings the other day & this is what I come up with. I wasn’t too sure of it when I put it together but it has slowly grown on me.
To create my card I rubbed a little Daffodil Delight & Tangerine Tango Ink onto a A4 Plastic Sheet, spritzed a little water from a Stampn’ Spritizer & then rubbed a sheet of Shimmery White CS into the ink.
Once dried, I then run it through the Big Shot with the Die & layered onto a piece of Basic Black CS, followed by a layer of Whisper White CS & finally the Base Card – Tangelo Tango.
I stamped “Happy Birthday to You” onto scrap Whisper White CS, punched with 1 3/8″ Circle Punch before layering onto a punched piece of Basic Black CS which has been punched from the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch & then onto the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete my card, I coloured a couple of Rhinestones with a Permanent Black Marker & randomly adhered to the front.
I thought I would share with you a sneak peak at one of the lovely new sets you are able to earn free from Sale-a-Bration 5 January – 21 March 2016 when you spend $AUD90.00 (excluding P&H).
My card started out as a case, but sort of took its own course which is fine with me. You can find this happening from time to time which is a good thing.
I’ve made about 6 of these as they will be a start to my Birthday Cards for the next couple of months. I always start the year off with right intentions & then sort of get waylaid. It is my goal to be on top of things & ready for the new year.

Be sure to check back in over the next couple of days for more sneak peaks.
