Today I am sharing with you a card we created in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class last week. I wanted to try & see if I could use the Embossing Paste a different way.
When I started, I wasn’t too sure how it was going to turn out but after some trial & error I think I am finally happy with the outcome. I love it when I can get multiple uses from my craft supplies. I call this “Painting with Embossing Paste” – is that such a thing?
I have used a couple of retired In Colours – Lost Lagoon & Mint Macaron but you could easily create the same card using current colours.
Each month there is a different them & this month, the focus is on the Kids.
I actually created this card a couple of weeks ago when I first received the lovely “Magical Mermaid” Stamp Setwhich I think is perfect for girls. So many ideas, so little time!
I wanted to try & use the set a little different while at the same time, create a different fold. It is very simple but with all the Whisper White I think it is quiet effective.
To create my Base Card – Bermuda Bay, I scored & folded it in half but cut about an inch from the right hand side so that I could continue the “ocean” on the side of the card & the mermaid overlapping a little.
For the inside, I masked off a piece of Whisper White on the left hand side, repeated the same process as I did for the front so that the “ocean” continued across the card & the adhered it to the inside of the Base Card.
I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White in Early Espresso, fussy cut it & adhered it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete the card, I randomly scattered small Rhinestone Basic Pearlsso that they looked like bubbles.
I do hope you have enjoyed my card. I am hoping to post a tutorial later on in the week.

I have been playing lots with the Embossing Pastethe last few weeks – loving this stuff & also working on a couple of Creative Card Classes. One of the classes will be using the Paste, so be sure to book your spot.
I teamed the paste up with my new Oh, So Eclectic Bundlewhich only come in the post last week & has been sitting on my desk waiting & waiting.
Creative Cards are held the 1st & 2nd Tuesday of the month or the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month….. You can find all the details on the Classes/Workshop Page.
My card today is so way out of my comfort zone with all the oranges of Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, So Saffaron & Garden Green. I am so happy with the card that I have actually decided to include it in one of the classes in the next month or so. Mind you, it doesn’t look much but it has taken me hours to finally create it what with all the playing & changing of colours, but hey that is the fun part of creating.
The flowers have been coloured & blended with my good ol’ Blender Pen. I don’t know what I would do without it. I then highlighted the flowers with a little Clear Wink of Stella. It brings out he colours so much more.
The leaves were stamped using the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink& again coloured with Old Olive Ink & Blender Pen. The Old Olive is a nice contrast against the Garden Green background.
I will let you in on a little secret, the circle was not originally on the card which meant the flowers were sort of lost in the background, so I sponged a die cut circle in So Saffron, popped them on & then onto the card. Made all the difference as it now looks like a completely different card.
I’m not gonna be mean & not share the tutorial today, so don’t forget to click on the link below to grab it so you, too can create a card.
Over the past month or so I have slowly been scrapping away at my niece’s photos & getting them posted to her. Some I have kept for future Memories & More Scrapbooking Classes (check out the Class Page) while others have gone straight down to her. Bonnie is loving the surprise of opening the packages & not knowing what photos have been done or if photos have been included…
Today’s page is one we created in our class on Sunday week. It is going to be repeated later on at the request of a couple of ladies who couldn’t make it on the day but want to create the pages. There have been a few ladies saying that they will be back to do the same class again, as they have heaps of photos to scrap. This means that the pages will look totally different with new photos.
For my page I cut a piece of the retired “Peace This Christmas” DSP, adhered to a strip of Garden Green before adhering to a piece of Very Vanilla& then to Cherry Cobbler Card. The Garden Green & Cherry Cobbler are part of the with the “Be Merry” Cardstock Pack.
A piece of Very Vanilla was cut back to size so that we could fit 4 x photos on it & adhered to the Cherry Cobbler Base. Some of the ladies settled for 2 x photos which looked fine on the layout.
They were then adhered down the side of the page, the bows adhered to the tops with Mini Glue Dots& Cherry Cobbler Candy Dots (retired) adhered to the branch.
For the title, we cut a banner shape into each end, adhered a couple of the left over holly images to each end along with the Candy Dots before adhering to the bottom part of the page.
To finish off the page, some of the ladies then scattered a couple of the Candy Dots around the page.
The page would suit the new Be Merry DSPtoo. It is just that my order didn’t arrive in time. The ladies were more than happy to see how I use the retired DSP. Mind you the pages were great sellers for both the Stamp Set & DSP.
Be sure to check out the Class Pagefor our next class. We will be creating 2 beach pages. All you need to bring is yourself & or a friend. Everything is supplied.
Be sure to check back in a few days time when I will show you our 2nd page.
I was asked a couple of weeks ago to create a card for a friend of mine who turned 89, 2 weeks ago. We all call him “Pop” & my dog Belle, just loves going down to their place for visits but I really think it is the treats they give her. I often come home alone as Belle is happy sitting on the mat at their feet & in the company of their little dog, Friday.
I did case this card off Pinterest that I had seen a little time ago & loved the simple easy design of the card. Thank you so much for your inspiration. It suits Pop as he is always out in the garden or shed playing & building stuff, with Belle always at his heels.
I stamped the images onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & die cut them using the matching “Build It” Framelits by running through the Big Shot.
The background from the stamp Set “Awesomely Artistic” was stamped direct onto a piece of Whisper White Card in Marina Mist Ink while the small accessories were all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The card was then layered onto a piece of Marina Mist & then to the Base Card – Night of Navy.
The tools were coloured & blended with Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Smokey Slate & Basic Grey Inks using a Blender Pen before being adhered the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Last week I shared with you a card I had created using the cute little Stamp Set – You’re Sublime. Well, today I have another to share with you, but this time I’ve played with the frog from the same set. I don’t know what it is about this set, but I love creating with it. Is it the little creatures & their faces or is it the shapes……
Anyhow, my card went off in the mail last Monday. Fingers crossed they like it too.
As I’ve teamed the set with the bright & happy “Festive Birthday” DSP, I wanted the colours to be the same – bright & happy. I used my Blender Pen to colour the frog & the water, but in saying that, I didn’t want it to be coloured nice & smooth, so I very roughly coloured both using Emerald Envy for the frog & Tempting Turquoise for the water. It’s eyes are Daffodil Delight & the spots are Melon Mambo.

My card today is one we created in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class last Friday. Please feel free to come along each Friday morning at 9.30am at the Community Hall.
I’ve been trying to create & showcase some of the lovely product that will be retiring at the end of May & today is no different. I’ve used the cute little Stamp Set – “You’re Sublime”. I love this set & always get a bit of a kick when using it.
To colour my sub I’ve used So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Pool Party & Peekaboo Peach Inks along with my Blender Pen. The little hearts have been coloured using the Real Red Watercolour Pencils.
As Mint Macaron is a 2015-2017 In Colour, it will be retiring this year. I will really miss this colour as it is one of “go to” colours.
Don’t forget to click on the link above the photo to download your Free Tutorial which includes Measurements (Metric & Imperial), as well as a Supply List of all the product I’ve used to create my card.

I saw a great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketchesyesterday & thought it would be perfect to showcase the “Grateful Bunch” Stamp Set & the matching “Blossom” Punch both of which are retiring.
To create my card I stamped the leaf direct onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in Wild Wasabi Ink. I created a small faux stitched border around the Card using a Ruler & the Marina Mist Stampin’ Write Marker. I didn’t go with Pacific Point as I wanted to tone it down a little.
I then stamped the large Sunflower onto a scrap of Whisper White in Archival Basic Grey Ink, coloured with the Pacific Point Watercolour Pencil & Blender Pen before fussy cutting.
I stamped the group of flowers a number of times onto Whisper White with Archival Basic Grey Ink including extra small flowers, coloured with the Daffodil Delight & Melon Mambo Watercolour Pencils & Blender Pen. I punched all flowers using the “Blossom” Punch.
Clear Wink of Stella was applied to the flowers to add shine & to bring out the colour a little more. Gold Wink of Stella (retiring) was applied to centre of the large flower.
Marina Mist strips were adhered to both sides of the stamped Whisper White before layering onto a piece of Whisper White & then to the Base Card – Pink Pirouette.
The flowers were arranged onto the Card Front & adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue & Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the “Love & Affection” Stamp Set (retiring) & is stamped onto a piece of Whisper White in Archival Basic Grey Ink before cutting back to size & layered onto a piece of Marina Mist. Both ends were then punched using the “Banner Triple”Punch & adhering to the Card Front.
To complete the card I added Rhinestones Basic Jewels to the centre of the flowers & randomly scattered a couple over the front.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the leaf onto Whisper White in Wild Wasabi Ink & added the extra flowers left over from the front.
Thank you ladies for a great challenge. Just what I needed to help showcase the sweet “Grateful Bunch” Stamp Set & the matching “Blossom” Punch.

My card today is one we created this morning in class. As it is the school holidays & there are a couple kids coming along, I thought I would aim the card at the kids while at the same time cater for the adults who will be there too.
My card uses the “Everyday Hero” Stamp Set from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue. I’ve also used the “Festive Birthday” DSP which I am loving. I chose the colours of Crushed Curry, Whisper White & Emerald Envy as these colours can be for either boys or girls. By doing this, the class can elect to create their card for a boy or girl. Along with the “Everyday Hero”, I used the “Custom Tee” Stamp Set for the greeting. It has a greeting for boys & girls!
Don’t you love the little hat he is wearing? All I did was fussy cut it from a scrap piece of the DSP.
I do hope they enjoy creating this card as much as I did.

Today’s card is one we are creating in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class this morning. I hope the ladies like it!
I started by caseing the card from the 2017 SAB Catalogue but it sort of went off on its own. I then found a card on Pinterest that I loved so I ended finishing my card by caseing it. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I’m loving my Blender Pen at the moment as the new smooth & improved Watercolour Pencils make it so very easy to use. I also want the class to play with them as they are very interested in different techniques, so look out class, we will be doing lots of lovely techniques in our future classes.
