My card today is one we created in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class last Friday. Please feel free to come along each Friday morning at 9.30am at the Community Hall.
I’ve been trying to create & showcase some of the lovely product that will be retiring at the end of May & today is no different. I’ve used the cute little Stamp Set – “You’re Sublime”. I love this set & always get a bit of a kick when using it.
To colour my sub I’ve used So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Pool Party & Peekaboo Peach Inks along with my Blender Pen. The little hearts have been coloured using the Real Red Watercolour Pencils.
As Mint Macaron is a 2015-2017 In Colour, it will be retiring this year. I will really miss this colour as it is one of “go to” colours.

To place your order before all the retiring products have gone forever, be sure to pop on over to my Online Shop. Don’t forget to use May’s Host Code to receive a gift from me.
I sat myself down yesterday to clean up my craft desk but instead got into more of a mess as I decided to play along with the challenge over at “Global Design Project” where the theme was –
Let’s face it – we all love a little Sparkle or Bling on our projects.
Trying to get the most out of the items from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue & seeing as though the “Custom Tee” Bundle was already sitting on my desk, I decided to go with what was on the desk.
I’ve used the “Carousels & Cupcakes” DSP Stack along with Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay & Early Espresso Cardstock. I wrapped the Ribbon around the DSP after I had cut the circle using the Layering Circles Framelits.
To highlight the T-Shirt, I added colour to the piece of Very Vanilla Card by using my Aqua Painter & So Saffron Ink. It doesn’t show up much on the photo because of it being Very Vanilla, but it pops the Shirt.
As the theme was Sparkles & Bling, I decided to add bling around the neckline & randomly down the right hand side of the card. I also added a small Rhinestone to each side of the sentiment.
The sentiment is from the same Bundle, but I masked off the candles either side, inked with Bermuda Bay Ink, removed the mask & stamped onto scrap Very Vanilla, punched with the Classic Label Punch before adhering to the Card Front.
Why not play along with the team this week. There is still heaps of time. Thank you for a great challenge.

I saw the great sketch over at Stampin’ Girls Gone Wild this morning & decided to try & create a card with the lovely SAB Stamp Set – Avant Garden. I will be honest & say that even though I love the set I haven’t played with it much….. so this week, you may see a couple of cards showcasing this lovely set.
I took my colours of Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum & Blushing Bride from the “Blooms & Bliss” DSP from the Annual Catalogue & added Early Espresso to soften it even more rather than Basic Black.
I actually used a Lace Doily as a Mask to create the bottom part of my card. A Sponge Dauber & Blushing Bride Ink helped create the effect. I’m quite happy with the result.
Tip Do not toss out the Doily when you have finished as you can use it for another project

I actually decided to have a play this week & the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches popped up. As it’s been a little while since I’ve done one with them I thought it the perfect opportunity to do so. I actually had “Falling Flowers” sitting on my desk left over from another project.
Getting out of my comfort zone, I decided to go “Bright” which are not my “go to colours” or “first cab off the rank” but hey it’s a good thing to try new colours. I also fliped the sketch on its side to challenge myself a little more.
I stamped the middle jar from “Jar of Love” Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White Card in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink before repeating it onto a scrap of paper & then fussy cutting for my mask. The mask was then temp adhered to the stamped jar before stamping a jar either side. This creates the effect of the middle jar being in front of the other 2. “Thanks” was stamped inside the jar with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
The lids were stamped direct onto scrap Whisper White Card in Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise & Daffodil Delight Inks before being die cut with the corresponding “Everyday Jars” Framelits by running through the Big Shot & adhering to the tops – Melon Mambo & Tempting Turquoise with Multipurpose Adhesive Glue while Stampin’ Dimensionals were used on the Daffodil Delight Lid.
The Leaves were stamped direct onto 2 of the jars in Old Olive Ink. The Flowers were stamped direct onto more scrap Whisper White Card (love it when I get to use some of my scraps) in Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight & Melon Mambo Inks before die cutting with the coordinating Framelits. I then decided to stamp & die cut another small leaf only because I had made a slight smudge – don’t you love it when you can cover it & no-one will ever know. As the Flowers are 2-Step Stamping, I stamped off once prior to stamping the 1st image. The stamped Whisper White Card was then layered onto a piece of Basic Black Card leaving a small edges showing around 3 sides & a larger one on the LHS.
As I thought the card looked a little bare, I then decided to add a few flowers down the side so I stamped a couple of leaf images direct onto a piece of Whisper White Card & then layered the Jar piece over the top allowing the leafs to overlap a little prior to layering onto a piece of Basic Black Card & then to the Base Card – Whisper White.
To finish the card, the Flowers were randomly adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals before Rhinestone Basic Jewels were adhered to the centres.
I’m loving the bright colours of the card especially teamed up with Basic Black.
Why not head over to Freshly Made Sketches & play along.
Today’s card is another from a Technique Class we did some time ago. We played with the Reflection or Mirror Image Technique & created a card perfect for the male which could easily be changed into a Birthday Card, just change the greeting.
I love the soft look of the card as it is a very peaceful one. To add a little bit more dimension, I’ve scored down the right hand side of the card using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool – love this board!
I saw a card on Pinterest some time ago which stuck in my head for some reason. I’m not sure if it was the colours, the layout or the technique. So my card today is from that card with my own spin on it. Thank you so much for your inspiration!
As you have probably gathered I am a big fan of the Decorative Masks. I love how you many different looks you can achieve using them, the many techniques you can use with them & of course all the backgrounds you are able to create.
My card has actually been created for the challenge over at CYCI where we could pick 3 colours to create our project. Thank you once again Team for a great challenge.
The colours I used for the challenge – Old Olive & Daffodil Delight Inks, Basic Black Card with Whisper White as my Neutral.

In our Technique Class last Sunday we played with the fantastic Hearth & Home Thinlits These are sold as a bundle which include the Stamp Set – Happy Scenes. The stamps are small enough to go behind the window. We used the fantastic all occasions “Lovely as a Tree“.
I will admit when I first saw these Thinlits Dies I saw an old bush gate……. and my mind started thinking…… I even managed to make it a little rustic & worn – just like the gate out home. So of course, to go with the gate, I had to create a real bush Christmas Card.
I still think I went a little overboard on the stars but out home the stars are really that bright. After I had completed the card, I then realised that I should have created the Milky Way! Mind you, I went a little green with the green too as it is very dry out west & they are still in one of the worse droughts since the 60’s, so I’ve been told. There isn’t even any dust left on the land for the wind to pick up.
Again, this class is going to be repeated in November. Be sure to check back at a later for the dates.
I just love this gorgeous little Stamp Set. Fantastic for so many techniques. On our card, we played with the Blender Pen, Aqua Painter, paper Pierced & Freehand.
My card today is one we created in my Friday’s volunteer class yesterday. We decided to take a much earned break from the Christmas Cards.
I had a number of kids in the class as it is school holidays in Qld & they usually like to come along, so I like to aim the cards at them. Mind you, the ladies love creating them too.
For my card, I used both the Blender Pen & Aqua Painter along with Markers & Inks. I will warn you that if you are using both, please be a little patient in the colouring. This way you are guaranteed to end up with a lovely result.
I started off by casing the card on Page 44 of the Catalogue but as I went along, it sort of developed a mind of it’s own, so I just went with the flow. I especially love how the footpath developed. I bet if I tried to do it again, it wouldn’t happen.
I also love how her eyes have lit up at the site of the Butterfly landing on her hand. The DSP I used has long since retired, but worked perfectly with the image. You could change it out to a more current DSP.
As you can see, I carried the footpath onto the card inside.
Please feel free to click on the link below for instructions on how to create your own card.
Today’s card is our 2nd card we created in our Technique Class last Sunday, which was all about Masking, Sponging & getting better use from our Dies.
I have used a Die (Starburst) that has since been retired, but you could always change it out to whatever shape you wanted for your card. I must say the ladies were really happy with this card which is very simple but with a little bit of a “WOW”.
Don’t forget if you would like to attend any of my Technique Classes, all you have to do is click on the Classess/Workshop Page to check out the dates & times.
