The Paper Funday Challenge | March

G’Day Friends,

Our challenge this month is sponsored by Poppy Stamps & Unity Stamps.  I’ve gone with the Twist – Fur / Feathers!

Now, I was very tempeted to go with ducks & feathers but I did manage to find an older Card Collection with rabbits, baby bears, owls & ducks.

I chose the sweetest little rabbit from the Hello Darling Card Collection to create an adorable baby card.  There’s just something timeless about a bunny when it comes to welcoming a new arrival — soft, gentle and full of charm.  It perfectly captures that cosy, cuddly feeling we all associate with newborns.

I kept the design light and delicate, using soft pastel tones to complement the rabbit’s fur and add to the overall sweetness of the card.  A subtle background and simple sentiment allowed the little rabbit to remain the star of the show.

This theme was such a fun one to work with — fur gives so many possibilities, from woodland creatures to beloved pets.  I’d love to see which side you chose for our challenge this month!

The Paper Funday Challenge | February | Pastel Colours

G’Day Friends,

Once again it’s time for our challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenges where this month our sponsors are Pretty Pink Posh & Lawn Fawn.  I’ve gone with the Twist – Pastel Colours to create a sweet & simple birthday card that’s all about texture, softness & a little fun.

I started with an embossing folder to create a subtle background full of beautiful raised detail.  To keep everything cohesive, I paired it with patterned paper featuring small dots & plaid which echoes the texture of the embossing without overwhelming the design.  This small detail really helps tie the whole card together.

For the focal point, I used die cut balloons with both cardstock & pattern paper, layering them slightly for dimension. Balloons are such a classic birthday element and they work perfectly here to keep the card light and celebratory.

The colour palette stays firmly in the realm of soft pastels — gentle pinks, purples and soft neutral colours — giving the card a calm, cheerful feel that works for any age.  Foam Tape adds subtle height and finishes everything off with a simple sentiment so the textures and colours can really shine.

Supply List

  • Birthday Wishes Bundle – Gina K Designs
  • Basic White Smooth Cardstock – Paper Rose Studio
  • Bubble Gum Cardstock – Stampin’ Up!
  • Hello Lady 6 x 6 Papers – Paper by the Sea

The Paper Funday January Challenge | Sketch Layout

G’Day Friends,

Welcome to 2026 & to our very first the Paper Funday Challenges of the year.  Our sponsors this month are Taylored Expressions and Sweet November Stamps.

As usual we always have a twist for all our challenges & this month is a sketch layout.  Oh, I love my sketches.  I’ve created a clean and simple card keeping the design minimal and calming, letting the seashell images and soft colouring take centre stage.

Clean & Simple Design

For this card, I focused on lots of white space and a straightforward layout.  A single focal panel sits on the card base, keeping the overall design uncluttered and easy on the eyes.  Clean & simple cards are some of my favourites because they highlight the details without feeling busy.

Seashell Focal Cluster

The seashells are the star of the card.  I coloured them with alcohol markers in soft neutrals, adding gentle shading for dimension.  Keeping the colouring light helps maintain the clean & simple style while still adding depth and dimension to the images.  A loose cluster of shells overlaps the focal panel, creating movement and visual interest.  A small sentiment banner off-centre finishes the design.

Supply List

  • Seashells Stamp Set & Dies – Pretty Pink Posh
  • Basic White Smooth Cardstock – Paper Rose Studio
  • Lemon Lolly cardstock – Stampin’ Up!
  • Copic Markers
  • Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Embellishment
  • Stitched Shapes Dies – Stampin’ Up!

Finishing Touches

To finish the card, I added a small sentiment that complements the simple design without overpowering it.  Three small white embellishment have been added to the circle so as not to overtake the shells & colouring.

Final Thoughts

This project was a great reminder that combining a sketch layout, simple colouring and  embossing can result in a timeless design.  Seashells add a peaceful, elegant touch that feels right year-round.

Thanks so much for stopping by today – I hope this inspires you to pull out your markers and embossing folders and give this sketch a try!

The Paper Funday Challenge | November

G’Day Friends,

Spring has arrived down under — and with it, a fresh Paper Funday Challenge!  This is our last challenge for the year as we have a rest during December before hitting it again in January.

Our sponsors for November are Altenew & Picket Fence Studios.  The Twist is Merry & Bright!

This month, I reached for the Spring Daisy Stamp Set & Dies by Altenew to create a cluster of lovely daisies bursting with sunny warmth.  Think cheerful oranges, soft yellows, gentle greens and earthy browns — the perfect palette for that early spring glow.  I wanted a design that felt light and airy — like that first warm breeze after winter fades away.

The Process

  1. Card Base: 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ white cardstock for a crisp, square shape.
  2. Focal Point: Stamp & create a cluster of daisies in soft yellows, oranges, browns and leaves with greens, die-cut them for a touch of dimension.
  3. Layering: Adhere white cardstock onto an earthy brown cardstock before arranging & layering the daisy cluster.
  4. Sentiment: A simple “Hello Gorgeous” stamped in coordinating colour.
  5. Finishing Touch: A sprinkle of enamel dots.

The Inspiration

I wanted to capture that moment when winter’s chill gives way to sunlight and new blooms peek through the soil.  The daisies set felt like the perfect way to celebrate that quiet but colourful transition.

Join the fun!

The Paper Funday Challenge | Cute or Creepy

G’Day Friends,

Once again it’s time for The Paper Funday Challenge where our sponsors for October are Varada Sharma & Scrappy Tails or we can go the Twist – Cute or Creepy.  I’ve gone for the Twist.

I’ve gone for a  fun clean and simple birthday card that comes with a little twist:  a crocodile who’s not sure if he’s cute or just a little creepy!  Perfect for kids who love animals (and maybe a little mischief).

For the card base, I kept things crisp and white to highlight the design. I added a panel of patterned paper for extra texture, making sure it wasn’t too busy to keep the CAS feel.  The star of the show is the crocodile or alligator in this case, depending on your eye! stamped and coloured in fresh greens.  Check out that cheeky grin while riding his scooter.  Maybe he’s more playful than scary.

To tie it together, I stamped a simple sentiment:
“Happy birthday!”

I love how this design balances that cute/creepy edge without being too much in either direction — it keeps the card fun and suitable for kids.  Sometimes the simplest designs with one bold image pack the biggest bite!

I can’t wait to see how you all interpret this theme in the challenge — whether you go more sweet, spooky or cute.

How to Join –

  1. Create your project using an image from either Varada Sharma or Scrappy Tails or go for the twist – cute or creepy

  2. Upload your entry before the deadline
