Fun with Stencils – Paper Funday Challenge

G’Day Friends,

Once again we have another challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog.  This month’s sponsors are Lawn Fawn & Newton’s Nook.  I went with the Twist – Fun with Stencils!

Whether you’re into clean geometric shapes or whimsical hand-cut designs, stencils are a fantastic way to add personality and precision to your paper projects.

For my take on the challenge, I grabbed some Basic White Cardstock, a fun brand new Stencil, Ink Pad & Blending Brush.  Once my stencilling was all done, I grabbed a Die that I think worked perfectly with the stencil, cut 2 different sizes in 2 colours & layered them over the top, trimming off any excess overlapping the sides.

The card was finished off by randomly adding splatters with a Black Posca Pen, layered onto Charcoal Black Cardstock & then to a Basic White Smooth Base Card.

Stencils are a low-pressure, high-reward way to experiment – perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike.  So dig out those stencils, get messy, and show us what you create!

Dry or Wet Embossing for June Paper Funday Challaenge

G’Day Friends,

The June challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenges is here.  This month we are sponsored by Pink & Main and Dare2BArtsy.  The twist is Embossing – Wet and / Dry.

For my project today, I’ve gone with the Twist – Dry Embossing and added an inked background.

Now, I am a huge fan of Embossing Folders, so it was a no-brainer for me.  I just had to dig out a brand new Folder – to me anyhow – & put it to good use.

The Embossing Folder has been inked with Chamomile Ink, embossed with White Cardstock, randomly chopped into 3 pieces prior to being layered onto Black Cardstock & then to a Coloured Base Card.

Be sure to pop over to The Paper Funday Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team have created along with the entries.  Better still, why not play along with us this month by adding your link over on the blog.

Until next time, have a craft day.

CURRENT CLASSES & EVENTS

Picket Fence Studios for The Paper Funday Challenge

G’Day Friends,

It’s time for our May challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenges.  This month we are sponsored by Altenew & Picket Fence StudiosThe twist being – Celebrate Something New.

I only have a couple of stamp sets by Picket Fence Studios including the Seashells waiting to be Found which is what I went with to create my card.

Now, I will be honest & say my card is totally different to what I started out to create.  It sort of took a steep turn once the sponging had been done.  But hey, that is what crafting is all about, right?

The Shells have been coloured with Copics while the sentiment was stamped in Navy & die cut with the matching die from the Bundle.

Don’t forget to pop over to The Paper Funday Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team have created along with the entries.  Better still, why not play along with us this month by adding your link over on the blog.

Until next time, have a craft day.

Berry Sweet Girl for The Paper Funday Challenge

G’Day Friends,

Once again it’s time for another Challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenges.  This month we are sponsored by Varada Sharma Designs and Whimsy Stamps who have kindly given the team a couple of Digital Stamps.  The twist for April is Things beginning with the letter “B”.

I thought the cheeky Sweet Berry Girl would give me a little challenge to get me out of my comfort zone as I am the first to admit I am not good at colouring hair.

The “footpath” has been handrawn & coloured with Copics.  The background was blended with Inks & a Blending Brush prior to adding grass to the top of the footpath with Copics.  The little girl was also coloured with Copics before being fussy cut.

The sentiment is from the All Occasions Sentiment Pack by Paper Rose Studio.

Rainy Weather for The Paper Funday Challenges

G’Day Friends,

It is once again time for another Challenge over at The Paper Funday Challenges.  The twist for March is Weather Related.

As I write this, we have a Cyclone bearing down on us just off the coast which is how my card come about.  I took the inspiration off a bright umbrella & chair sitting high up on the sand dunes this morning, looking like it was about to topple over into the waves.  I thought it funny as it was about 5am with no sun, only lots of wind & rain.

I created the “raindrops” by randomly blending a Tiny Dots Stencil over a piece of Basic White Smooth Cardstock.  I wasn’t too sure how it would work, but happy with the result.

The chair & umbrella have been coloured with Copics & taken from the colours of the ones on the beach.

Copics

  • Chair – Y04, Y08
  • Umbrella – B02, B05, BV00, BV02, R81, R83

Don’t forget to head on over to The Paper Funday Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created along with the entries.  We would love to see what you can create, so please feel free to add your link too.

Until next time, Happy Crafting
