With it being a little cooler this morning (only after a torrential downpour) I can sit at my desk & craft a little. This being the case, I thought I would do the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches & as usual I am just scraping it in.
I also challenged myself to create with a stamp set sitting on my self & not one from the new 2017 Occasions or SAB Catalogues – very hard to do, but I’ve done it. Anyhow, this sketch was perfect for the “Touches of Texture” Stamp Set.
For the small piece down the RHS of the sketch, I thought I would try something a little different, so I stamped the floral bouquet image a couple of times & coloured with the lovely new Watercolour Pencils.
I also blended the colours with the Clear Wink of Stella, which added a lovely shine to the card & popped the flowers a little. A shame you can’t really see it in the photo.
So that the card popped a little more, I’ve used Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Panel. This instantly lifted the card as it highlights the DSP (Serene Scenery) & the greeting, which is then highlighted a little more by added a couple of Enamel Shapes to the side.
For the inside, I cut a piece of leftover DSP, added a strip of Bermuda Bay & adhered to the side of a piece of Whisper White before adding to the inside of the card.
Thank you once again FMS for a great challenge. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating my card although I didn’t really know where I was going when I started.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Don’t you love creating for special people? I know I do, although sometimes I think I tend to overthink things & make it so hard for myself as I want the card to be just “perfect”!
My card today is just that – for a special friend & one that I saw very similar on Pinterest but put my own spin on it. I also wanted to used some of her favourite colours – Blues which I teamed up with Yellows & Browns.
I don’t have a Tutorial for you today as it “took off” in the mail before I remembered to do one, but hopefully I will be able to go by the photo.
With images from the gorgeous “Touches of Texture” Stamp Set I randomly stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card in Soft Sky Ink. The Dragonfly was stamped randomly in Crumb Cake Ink. I did think about colouring them too but at the last moment left them as is.
I punched a piece of Very Vanilla Card with the 2″ Circle Punch before temp adhering it to the stamped Very Vanilla Card. I then stamped the Sprig of Flowers twice over the Card in Crumb Cake before colouring the flowers with Soft Saffron Ink & the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink with my Blender Pen.
I wrapped a piece of Metallic Gold Thread around my finger 3 times, adhered it to the back of the punched Circle with a Mini Glue Dot before adhering the circle to the card ensuring that all my images were lined up correctly. This was then layered onto a piece of Soft Sky Card & then to the Base Card – Very Vanilla.
I stamped the “Banner” onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card in Crumb Cake Ink, stamped “Happy Birthday” from the “Birthday Banners” Stamp Set inside the Banner, again in Crumb Cake Ink & cut it out matching “Bunch of Banners” Framelits Dies. Don’t you just love it when SU! have everything “matchy matchy?”
This was adhered to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete my card, I then added small Pearl Basic Jewels to the centre of the flowers & scattered a couple around the card.
I hope you had a lovely day Naomi & you liked your card.
Until next time, Happy Stampin’
