Sending a Smile…

… Your Way with “Love & Affection” Stamp Set.

As mention in my Newsletter, I am going to try & convince you all to use your “Washi Tape” & try something new.  With that in mind, let’s call it “Washi Wednesday, so hopefully each Wednesday I will have a card using this fantastic product.  Stampin’ Up! have the most gorgeous Tape & I can bet we all have a bunch of it hey.  I thought it would be a great idea to start using it & then try & encourage you to play with it.  I know, I bet it is sitting in the bottom of your drawer!!!!!  The beauty about Washi Tape is it can help create quick & easy cards which can still have a WOW about #1---Junethem.

I’ve actually created my card using a sketch I made way back in June – same layout, different look.  You will be able to see the original one by clicking on this link & another card using the same layout here.

If you click on the link below, you will be able to grab a Free Tutorial for today’s card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Weekly Sketch #1

G’day Stampers,

I’ve doing something a little different today in that I have a fun sketch for you to try out.#1---June    These may not be every week but they will occur every so often.  I am hoping that these sketches will get me crafting again.  I am sort of having a little bit of trouble getting back into the swing of things, especially my techniques, which I love!

It is very easy but more than happy for you to add your own spin on it. Would love for you to play along.

20160612_102612_resizedwm-bAs this is the first, I kept my card fairly simple plus I had a lot of the stuff still sitting on my desk from a couple of projects (more about them later on in the week), including the Stamp Set – Love & Affection, along with the co-ordinating Washi Tape.

I also decided to use the co-ordinating Embossing Folder – Floral Affection which has 2 Embossing Folders.  Perfect for small areas on your card.

If you click above the photo below, you are able to download a free tutorial on how I created my card.  It also includes all the supplies & measurements.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

151. Sending a Smile Your Way – Love & Affection

Happy Birthday

I’ve been playing with the Feather Dies (Retired) of late & Washi Tape.  In fact, I had a couple of requests from a Market I did early in February.  Funny how things happen.  Usually, I have a request for a particular card but this time round I had about 6 enquiries if I had any cards with feathers on them.

This one is one of the first ones I sold at the market this month.  In fact, I could have sold it about 6 times, but as I only create 1 of a kind, it is usually “first in, best dressed” unless I have a particular request, then I will set about creating another.

The “Feather” Dies have long since retired, but I kept them especially for my market customers.  Love them.  Mind you I didn’t use them at all when they were current.

If you don’t have these Dies, then not a hassles as all you have to do is substitute them for flowers, leaves, etc to create the same card.  If you don’t have Washi Tape, then use DSP in lieu of.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

PS  Don’t forget there is only 2 days left until SAB 2016 is over, so be sure to check back on Thursday to see what I’ve created using Free product.

132. Happy Birtthday – Party with Cake

A little Thanks

I’ve been playing with the gorgeous “Botanical Gardens” Bundle from the 2016 Occasions 002wmblog1Catalogue.  I also wanted to create a couple of Thank You Cards.

This is such a fantastic Bundle that I am not sure why it took me so long to purchase it.

I challenged myself to work with what was already sitting on my desk from yesterday & hadn’t managed to put away, including scraps of card & inks.

121. A Little Thanks – Botanical Blooms

Reason for the Season

Our card today is the 2nd one created last Sunday in our Technique Class.

We played with this fantastic & very versatile stamp set.  So many ideas going around in my head that my hands can’t keep up!

You may recognise the card as it is sort of based on the card in the Holiday Catalogue, page 31 except I have put my own spin on it & changed a couple of small things.

Again, this class is being repeated this month, so be sure to check out the Classes/Workshops Page for dates & times.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Birthday Wishes

A couple of weeks ago, I created a card for a friend.  Mind you, I was a little late in giving it to her, but she did receive it!

I don’t have a tutorial or measurements, so will try & remember how I created it.

For my candles, I applied 3 pieces of Cherry on Top Washi Tape to scrap Whisper White CS, cut them out & adhered to a piece of Whisper White CS. The flames are from Build a Birthday & stamped above the candles in Crushed Curry Ink.  The whole piece was layered onto a piece of Bermuda Bay CS.

I cut a piece of the Cherry on Top DSP Stack, adhered to Whisper White CS prior to adhering to Base Card – Bermuda Bay.

I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap Whisper White in Black Memento, cut into Banner Shape & adhered to Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Saying it like this, it took no time in creating, but in reality it took me about an hour to do, as I kept changing my mind & playing with papers & colours.

All in all, I was really happy with the card.  I only hope Naomi was too.

Until next time, Happy Stampin”

Products used –

Gift Card Holder

“Look Mum, no stamping!”

I finally used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits & must say “love, love, love it!”  So easy to create cards, Boxes, etc.  My head is swimming with ideas.

I actually used some of the new Bohemian DSP, along with the matching Washi Tape (from my pre-order), along with some of the accessories included in the Thinlits.  I’m not a Brights’ person, but hey it is good to get out of your comfort zone every now & then.  In fact, I actually enjoyed playing with these colours.

As I mentioned, no stamping on this one.  I actually didn’t realise it until I went to take a photo.  Amazing how much we get to rely on out stamps?

003bbwm-blogTo create my holder I cut a piece of Very Vanilla using the Thinlits & then recut a piece of DSP for the front & adhered it to the front ensuring the top edges matched.

For the Belly Band, I cut a piece of Bermuda Bay, adhered a piece of DSP to the centre & wrapped it around the card.  This Band can slip on & off very easy, although you could just adhere a piece to the front.

For the centre piece adhered to the Band, I punched a piece of Very Vanilla with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch & adhered it to the Bermuda Bay Scallop Circle.  To create this scallop Circle, I punched a couple of pieces of Bermuda Bay Card with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, cut it into pieces & adhered the pieces around the Very Vanilla Card prior to adhering to the Belly Band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the card itself, I adhered a piece of Bermuda Bay Ribbon (Retired) to the back of a piece of Very Vanilla Card.  I cut another piece of Very Vanilla Card, adhered 2 x strips of Washi Tape prior to adhering to the bottom of the larger piece before layering onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry.  “For You” is from the set & I cut it using Rich Razzleberry & running through the Big Shot.

To finish it off, I adhered a Bermuda Bay Candy Dot to the top so that it looked like a brad.

I then decided it needed just a little something, so I cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry Card, along with the “Enjoy” & run it through the Big Shot before adhering it to the Pocket.

Because the size is not Australian Standard, I created an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board.

I hope you like today’s project.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #22

I had a spare hour or so the other day & decided to check out the challenge over at Case-ing the CattyCTC 22 SAB Sketch

This week they have they have a sketch which has been case’d from Page 17 of the SALE-A- BRATION Catalogue.  The card features a sentiment from the SAB Simply Wonderful Stamp Set and a gorgeous yellow butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits Dies, but we get to use any SU products we like, plus the butterfly and oval may be substituted with other shapes, just as long we stick to the general layout of the card.

The idea I had wasn’t working quiet right with how I wanted my card to be.  Then I had a brain wave – Flip it!!!  I do hope that is ok?

The colours for my card were sitting on my desk left over from a previous project – that still isn’t quiet finished & not coming together like I imagined it to be.  Consequently, this project has now gone into “My To Do Later” Basket!

This week we have got an awesome sketch for you which has been CASED 033wm-blogfrom page 17 of the SALE-A-BRATION Catalogue.

I actually stayed right away from any the new products in the SB & Occasions Catalogues on purpose, so I challenged myself to use something from the Catalogue – “Kinda Eclectic“.  Seeing the sketch, I immediately thought it was perfect for Washi Tape, so I grabbed “Beach House” Bundle & went with Crushed Curry Tape which was perfect for the ink colours I was using.

Why not head over to Case-ing the Catty Challenge Blog & check out the other lovely cards created for this challenge.

By clicking on the link below, you will be able to download a tutorial to create your card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

54. Kinda Eclectic – Thank You

5 Minute Chrismas Card

I had to create a quick easy Christmas Card while Belle was getting clipped this morning, so I decided to visit Pinterest.  Once I saw this card, I knew that this was the one I had to create as I loved the simple clean look of it.  Thank you so much for your inspiration.

To create my card, I adhered strips of “Season of Style” Washi Tape down the RHS of a piece of Whisper White CS prior to embossing with the Decorative Dots EF prior to adhering to Base Card – Whisper White.

I stamped “Merry Christmas” from the Good Beginnings Stamp Set onto a scrap piece of Whisper White CS with Cherry Cobbler Ink, cut a banner shape & adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

If you don’t have Washi Tape, you could easy use strips of DSP.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
