Best Wishes

Good Morning Stampers,

I’m a little late in posting today – sort of got sidetracked on our walk this morning.20160801_101333_resizedblog

I have set myself a goal in that I am going to use every stamp I have from the catalogue this year.  It is so easy to overlook some of our older favourite stamps in favour of the new ones from the Occasions & Holiday Catalogues.  Don’t worry, I will be using my newer stamps too, but just wanted to dust off my older stamps.

Today’s card is one using “Remarkable You” Stamp Set but with a little bit of colouring, embossing & fussy cutting, not to mention a different layout, it can give the stamp a whole new lease of life.

I’ve kept my card very simple letting the flower speak for itself.  Teaming it up with a bright Card Base & touches of Black, I think it makes the image “POP“, but I would really like to know what you think?

If you click on the link above the photo, you will be able to download the Free Tutorial to create your own card.  Don’t panic if you don’t have the same supplies, just replace them with what you have in your stash.  You could even create the background using DSP.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Gift Bags

As part of my Catalogue Launch I created a couple of Gift Bags using now retired DSP & the new Triple Banner Punch.

I grabbed a couple of pieces of DSP from each Pack – Neutrals, Subtles, Brights & Regals.  This way, I thought I would let my guests choose which one suited them.  Each bag was filled with Chocolates & retired Product – Ribbons, Brads, etc.

To create my Banners, I teamed them up with colours that I took from the DSPColour Coach.  I also used the “Work of ArtStamp Set to take away the blank look of the Whisper White Banner.  To close my Bags, I used the little Clothespins which I covered with matching DSP of each bag but using the opposite side.

I was really happy with theses bags & the ladies loved them.  Mind you, using the new Gift Bag Punch Board makes life so much easier.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Catalogue Launch

At the beginning of June I had my Catalogue Launch for the 2015-2016 Catalogue, the 2nd one was held last Saturday.008wmefb-blog

We got to play with the fantastic, but fun “Sprinkles of Life” where #3.00 for every set sold is donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities.  The ladies loved it, especially when they found there was a matching Tree Builder Punch to go with it!

We had a fun afternoon playing with the Stamp Set, punch & even had a go creating a bag each using the Gift Bag Punch Board, but those will be shown later on.

Along with the card, the ladies each received a little box of goodies & chocolate, plus a prize each for just turning up!

I saw this card on Pinterest a little while ago & decided that this would be the perfect card to showcase this set!  To get my colours I actually used the Colour Coach and changed a couple of things around.  Thank you Sandi for your inspiration.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday

Sometime ago I was asked to create a card similar to the here, but with a “Digger”!

I did create a couple of cards after I was asked & then promptly sold them to family.  They got in before I could say “not that 003wmb-blogone” as they usually raid my boxes when visiting.

So when I had to re-create another, my first thought was Punch Art as I didn’t want to do the same.  Now, I am not the best at this type of “Art” but I can say I am really happy with this card.  I also did my “Digger” a little smaller as I didn’t want it t take over the whole card, so for that reason, it was a little fiddly, but I got there in the end.

All the measurements are the same as my previously card except for the Digger.  Since the photo has been taken I did type “CAT” & placed it on the card too.  No machinery is quiet complete without that name/brand (I think so anyhow, being a ex-miner).  I even managed to get little ink onto the cab, but hey I call it “coal”!

Body – Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Card & shape as per the photo.

Cab –  Layer a piece of Silver Foil layered onto a piece of Basic Black &adhere to the body.

002wma-blogEngine –   Score a piece of Basic Black Card & adhere to the Body.

Pump – Cut a small piece of Basic Black & adhere to Body.  Punch a small Basic Black Circle from the Owl Builder Punch, cut in half & adhere to the top of the Pump.

Boom/Arm – As I wanted this to be interactive & moving, I cut 3 pieces of Daffodil Delight into different lengths & put together using Silver Mini Brads.  These are my Pins.

Bucket – I cut a piece of Basic Black Card into a small square, cut it in half at an angle & adhered to the bottom arm.

Shoe – I cut a piece of Basic Black Card, rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch.

Track – I cut a small piece of Silver Foil & adhered across the middle of my Shoe.

Platform/Ring – I cut a small piece of Basic Black Card & adhered to bottom part of Body

To make it look a bit more real, I decided it needed a bit of coal, so I stamped an image from “Work of Art” in Black Memento.

I adhered the Shoes to the card with Adhesive & then popped the Body above them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

As I  mentioned, I am not the best at Punch Art, but I do hope you like my version of the Digger.

Until next time Happy Stampin’

Project Life

With I’ve been trying to get back into scrapbooking for a couple of months now & for some reason the motivation has not been there, so this morning I sat myself down, sorted through a couple of photos & decided that I was going to scrap 2 albums (I know, I don’t do things by halves) for Christmas – 1 for each of my 2 nieces for this year & give them as a Christmas present.

With this “idea” in mind, I decided that it was the perfect time to start using Project Life by Stampin’ Up!  Mind you, I have done a couple of these albums over the last few years but non-SU! & just by going what Becky Higgins was doing.  I used to 001plmake all my own stuff for the albums as I couldn’t get the product here.  So much easier when it is all done for you.

With my photo, Project Life Pocket Page, Everyday Adventure” Card Collections & Accessory Pack, I sat down & started playing with colours & patterns.  To begin with, I wanted to pick up the gorgeous colour of Elaina’s hair & found the perfect match from the Card Collections.

With only the 1 photo to pop onto the page, I decided that I would layer the photo onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock prior to layering onto 1 of the pattern cards, punched 3 small flowers using the “Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack” (Retired), popped 3 x small Pearls to the centre of each prior to adhering along the top of photo & popped it into a pocket – Easy!

I then printed “Capturing the” onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, stamped with an image from “Work of Art” in Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight Inks prior to adhering a small Black Stripe Banner from the Accessory Pack over the top.  I printed “MOMENTS” onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, cut it into a Banner Shape & popped it over the black stripe banner with a Stampin’ Dimensional prior to popping into a pocket.  Another done & dusted!

With the idea forming that I wasn’t going to do the journaling but leave a space for Danielle to it, I printed “January 2015” onto a matching Card & popped it into a pocket – How easy is this?

To complete the page, I popped a matching card into the final pocket!  Nothing to it!

Once I had decided on the colours, etc this page took me all of about 10 minutes.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

As I liked the challenge over at Mary Jo’s, I decided to play along.  Mind you, she always has a great challenge, it is just ScreenHunter_142 Nov_ 01 15_52finding the time to play along.

Once I saw the layout, I immediately wanted to use “By the Seaside“, but one of the designers had used it, so it gave me a good excuse to ink up a set that has been sitting on my shelf, but never used.

Not only did it give me a good excuse to ink this set, but I have since checked that I am low on Baby Cards, so it worked out really well.

I’m glad I did, as I am really happy with it.

Since seeing this set, the pram reminds me of one of those old fashioned ones in the “good old days”.  I think my brother & sister were wheeled around in one.

After consulting my “Colour Coach” I went for Blushing Bride & Sahara Sand.  I love these 2 colours together.  To add a little bit of depth, I decided to use 029blogPerfect Plum for the greeting/sentiment.

Once I had stamped, cut the pram & layered it onto the card, I decided that the background was a bit bland.  As I didn’t want to emboss it, I decided to use one of the stamp sets that I think work great for backgrounds – “Work of Art“.  Much happier!  Mind you it was a toss up between this one & “Gorgeous Grunge”.

I have used a couple of products that have retired, but you could change them out to current product.

Why not head over to Techno Stamper to check out the Design Teams cards & also the other lovely cards created for the challenge. If you get a spare 5 minutes (boy, do I wish this had taken me 5 minutes) then play along.  Thanks Mary Jo for a great challenge!

If you click on the link below, you will be able to download the tutorial to create your own card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday Michael

Today’s card is one I created for my brother who had his birthday a couple of days ago.

I originally saw the card on Kay Kalthoff’s blog a little while ago & have been wanting to create it since.  She even has a video on how she created her card, but I just went in blind.  I am not even sure if I have the colours right.  Thank you Kay for your inspiration.

I stamped the image from Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set direct onto a piece of Sahara Sand Card.  This is one colour I don’t use too often 008mm-blogbut when I do, am always wondering why it is not used more often.  The zigzag image from “Work of Art” Stamp Set was stamped across the bottom of the card in Lost Lagoon.  The reeds from “Wetlands” Stamp Set were stamped in Mossy Meadow.

I used #2 Oval from the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out the oval on the card.  I then traced the oval outline onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card so that I knew where to stamp my images.

The seagull images are from the “Wetlands” Stamp Set & stamped in the centre of the traced oval with Memento Black Ink.  The background is from “Work of Art” Stamp Set & has been stamped once in Sahara Sand, once in Lost Lagoon, although I did stamp off twice depending on how heavy you ink your stamp.  I then stamped a third time without re-inking so that the sky would be a little lighter yet again.

This piece was then adhered to the back of the main card ensuring that adhesive was applied to the edges of the oval, prior to adhering to a piece of Lost Lagoon Card for my Base.

Happy Birthday” was stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla with Memento Black Ink, punched with the Large Oval Punch & adhered to a piece of Lost Lagoon Card which has been punched with the Scallop Oval Punch prior to adhering to card front with Stampin’ Dimensonals.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
