I found a new challenge site (for me anyhow) the other day & decided to play along. It’s called “CASE-ing the Catty Challenges“. I’m always using the Catalogues for inspiration & thought this would be the perfect time to try & use the “Best
“Today the challenge is all about using New Buttons and Ribbon on your project. We are focussing our attention on the SALE-A-BRATION Catalogue and using the Best Ever Accessory Pack’s ribbon and buttons from page 4. If you haven’t scored yourself a free pack yet, you can use other SU buttons and ribbons that are new to you. CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything. This whole challenge blog is about using the current Stampin’ Up! Catalogues to help you create. Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catties are certainly a demonstrator or customer’s best resource”
To begin with I sat down & scribbled a rough sketch onto a piece of scrap paper – this is usually the piece I stamp, practice on & create my card on. Once I have finished my card, it then goes in the bin.
I decided to toss in a bit of Soft Sky & ended up using it for the Base Card. Surprise, surprise, it didn’t clash with the Coastal Cabana.
For my Butterfly, I cut it out using the Butterfly Thinlits from Crushed Curry, run it through the Big Shot, dabbed Versamark over the Butterfly, poured Clear Embossing Powder over it & heat set with a Heat Tool. It made it a little bit of “WOW”.
I then started to add Rhinestones to the centre, but as the Buttons were sitting in front of me, I played around until I found a way to use them, so I created Antennae for the Butterfly by threading Baker’s Twine through the Ribbon & adhering to the Butterfly with a Glue Dot.
Thank you ladies for a great challenge & hopefully I will be playing along more often.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
